Hotels With Bar in Nagano Prefecture, Japan

This hotel is right next to Nagano Station, making check-in super convenient. The rooms are simple, clean, and tidy. If you exit the station and turn left, it's just a two-minute walk. Don Quijote is directly across the street, perfect for some enjoyable late-night shopping. Even snow isn't an issue here. The hotel price is also quite reasonable and good value for money. Satisfied.

The hotel is conveniently located just over a 10-minute walk from the train station, and Shogakuji Temple is within walking distance. Downstairs, just a few steps away, is a bustling food street with Japanese restaurants, ramen shops, izakayas, cafes, convenience stores, and drugstores. The hotel's rooftop restaurant offers a breathtaking 270-degree view of the Northern Alps, with fresh, abundant ingredients, including many local Shinshu specialties. The front desk service is prompt and the staff are always warm and attentive. For such a prime location and excellent amenities, the price is surprisingly affordable, offering incredible value for money. As always, I love Nikko hotels!

Hotel staff service was top tier. Check-in counter staff allowed me to use their telephone for local call when I needed it urgently and even asked if I would be okay with Japanese and offered to help me call. Felt really relieved that help was provided without me asking and it was really touching. Check in counter staff were also sincere with their service and had wide smiles on their faces. The room was quite old but clean, quite contrasting to the modern lobby they had. Breakfast was amazing, so much choices (from smoothies to a katsu station) and delicious. Would recommend if you have the time in the morning.

The room was large and we could see the suwa lake. The beddings were prepared by staffs and breakfast was also good. We could also enjoy the onsen downstairs. Also they let us check out an hour later. Perfect experience

Traveling with 2 teenage boys and the bunk beds room was fun for them. Hotel is at a convenient location where you can easily find restaurants and small shops on the old street. Room was spacious and clean. Getting from Karuizawa station to hotel is a short taxi trip away.  Highly recommend for family trip.

Compared to Prince West, The Prince is much quieter and cozier. The room comes with a kitchen and the bathroom is spacious. Our room was on the first floor which opens directly to the outside, so when it snowed my daughter ran happily outside to make a snowman. There was a lounge serving drinks and wines, which all guests could enjoy, what I appreciated the most is the library setting with books to read. Service was phenomenal, the reception and all staff members were helpful.

The location is near but consider as far walking from station. It’s very far from the walking streets/ town and castle (approx 1km or slightly more). The bus/ transport couldn’t stop exact to those area hence walking is required. If you wanted to stay close to the station, there’s more better choices which more straight forward locate from the stations. Hotel buena vista just not as straight forward. The staff is just junior inexperience. I have phone data issue and ask for wifi assistance. The wifi in the lobby is so weak that I couldn’t connect. I ended up going back to JR station to get the public wifi to fix my data. Staff just look at me without offering any solutions. But one staff is kind and he stood at the lobby. He handed me the Matsumoto map for my exploring before the 3pm check in. Hey, I expected this is done by the one at the counter not this gentleman who stand at the hotel lobby! When it mentioned hotel buena vista has good cafe etc etc .. it’s actually dated and nothing to shout about. However the perks is to book a slot and visit the sister hotel closer to the mountain with the provided shuttle bus for their onsen facilities. That was top notch !!! Please book it earlier before it’s gone. However the slot available is dinner time. So please consider it.

The hotel's location was good, just walking distance to Yudanaka Station. We hadn't booked dinner, and to our surprise, the restaurant options nearby were very limited in the evening. The large public hot spring bath offered beautiful views of the distant mountains. The outdoor bath temperature was just right.

The hotel has a great atmosphere. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus that took us to Happo Bus Terminal. The food is absolutely delicious, with breakfast served in a buffet style featuring Nagano specialties, and dinner presented as a Japanese-French set menu. The onsen is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and clean. We also love locker area for keeping ski stuff and there also provide dressing area near by.

The environment is antique, every place is full of details, the room has a first-class view, the open-air hot spring has a flavor, and the overall environment is comfortable. One berth and two foods, the quality of food is good. The service attitude is friendly and professional, and it is more traditional Japanese culture when sending us out of the hotel.
