It was smaller than I expected, but I had fun!

A beautiful, clean amusement park. It's great for families with kids, but if you're looking for truly extreme rides, this isn't it. There are only two roller coasters, and the lines for them are 50 to 80 minutes long. We took the Universal Express, but you can only get through quickly once; if you want more, you'll have to wait in a huge line. If you're not into thrills, it's great.

The weather is quite hot, so be prepared with umbrellas, hats, fans, and water bottles (there are refill stations). It's not as crowded as in Japan. The Mummy theme is fun, and Snoopy is good too.

Best time to go to Universal Studios Singapore

Best time to go to Universal Studios Singapore
The best time to visit Universal Studios Singapore typically depends on a few factors, including weather, crowd levels, and special events. Here are some factors to help you plan your trip:
  1. Climate Considerations: Singapore features a tropical rainforest climate, staying warm and humid year-round. For more comfortable outdoor exploring, consider visiting between November and January, when temperatures are slightly milder.
  2. Managing Crowds: To beat the queues, aim for a weekday visit outside of peak school holiday periods (March, June, September, and December). You'll generally find the park much quieter when local schools are in session.
  3. Seasonal Events: Look out for annual highlights like Halloween Horror Nights or festive Christmas celebrations. While these draw larger crowds, they offer exclusive themed experiences you won't find at other times.
  4. Holiday Peaks: Keep an eye on the Singaporean public holiday calendar; these dates often see a significant spike in local visitors.
  5. Operating Hours: Always verify the park’s schedule before you head out. Arriving at "rope drop" (right when the gates open) is the best strategy to tick off the headliner rides with minimal wait times.

Location is very convenient. In between 2 MRT stations, Havelock station exit 4 and Great World Station. We’ve upgraded room at top floor. Nice scenery. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. There’s one thing that made us disappointed is….the hotel staff are not attentive enough towards guests. When I book this hotel, I’ve stated in the remarks that this staycation is to celebrate my husband’s birthday. However, the hotel staff didn’t prepare anything or give any complimentary cake to surprise us.

A Remarkable Stay at Orchard Hotel Singapore Check-in was seamless, and I was personally welcomed by the lovely Qui Yun. She was courteous, warm, and genuinely helpful. When I inquired about rooms with a bathtub, she promptly arranged a Premier room upgrade. A thoughtful touch that set the tone for my restful retreat. It was a much-needed solo retreat, peaceful, pleasant, and quiet. The Premier room offered the tranquility I craved, perfectly complemented by a sumptuous halal breakfast buffet. Highlights included the fragrant nasi lemak, comforting porridge, delectable dumplings, and an unexpectedly delightful creamed spinach. The toilet was immaculately clean and stocked with essential amenities (shampoo, bath gel, conditioner, shower cap, vanity kit, and toothbrushes.) The rainfall shower was sublime, with excellent water pressure and perfect temperature control. I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing soak in the bathtub. Situated in the heart of Orchard Road, the hotel’s location was perfect. With an abundance of malls and halal eateries just steps away, everything I needed was within easy reach. Checkout was a breeze, handled by Abby, another sweetheart whose warmth and efficiency made the end of my stay as pleasant as the beginning. I didn’t take any photos. I was so absorbed in enjoying my personal space. For authentic visuals, please refer to the hotel’s official photos and those shared by other reviewers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However, i still feel there are room for improvements. I have a few thoughtful upgrades that I believe, could elevate the experience further, even for a five-star hotel. In-Room Water System: Instead of bottled water, a 24-hour in-room water filtration or dispenser would offer greater convenience and sustainability. Streaming Convenience: It would be more seamless if Chromecast and Netflix were readily available in-room without the need for deposits or extra steps. I opted not to use Chromecast because I already had Netflix on my phone and didn’t want the hassle. Bathrobes on Demand: Bathrobes should be readily available in all rooms to better reflect five-star expectations. -----------‐-------------------------------------------------------------------- Final Thoughts: Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time, thanks to the thoughtful staff, serene setting, delicious breakfast, and unbeatable location. With a few refinements, especially an in-room water solution, streamlined streaming options, and readily available bathrobes, it would be absolutely flawless. I can’t wait to come back.

An excellent stay that exceeded expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, which immediately elevated the experience with a more spacious, well-appointed layout and refined interior details. The hotel was also exceptionally baby-friendly—a clean, sturdy, and thoughtfully prepared baby crib was provided, making the stay comfortable and stress-free for families. The highlight was the majestic Garden by the Bay view, visible from the room and balcony, offering a serene, lush panorama that felt both calming and iconic, especially with natural daylight filling the space. Overall, a seamless blend of comfort, thoughtful hospitality, and an outstanding view—highly recommended.

Singapore Hotel Accommodation Review: 【Room Type】 I stayed in a standard room, which is indeed not spacious, but the design is clever and the space is well utilized, making it sufficient for short-term stays. The room is equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the bed is comfortable. Overall, it's quite decent. 【Location】 The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and several subway lines nearby. It's only a 5-minute walk to the subway station. There is a variety of dining and shopping options in the vicinity, which greatly facilitates getting around. Moreover, the hotel is close to famous attractions like the Marina Bay Gardens and the Merlion Park, making it suitable for tourists. 【View from the Window】 The view from the room window is quite nice, offering a glimpse of the Singapore city skyline, especially the night view, which is breathtaking. This greatly enhanced the experience of my stay. 【Price】 Although the hotel has a great location and a nice view, it's not cheap. For travelers on a tight budget, it might be a bit of a stretch. However, considering the cost of living in Singapore, the price is reasonable. 【Cleanliness】 The overall cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. The rooms are very clean, and the staff conducts daily disinfection and cleaning, ensuring a comfortable stay. The public areas are also well-maintained, leaving a good impression. In summary, the Singapore Hotel excels in location, view from the window, and cleanliness, but falls a bit short in room size and price. It is suitable for travelers who have certain requirements for their accommodation and have a more generous budget.

Hotel Boss has a fantastic location. There's a Founder Bak Kut Teh restaurant right downstairs! The closest MRT station is Lavender, and it's only about three to four stops to places like Merlion Park and Marina Bay. There are also many bus stops nearby, providing direct access to all major attractions in Singapore. Plus, there's a Sheng Siong supermarket about 500-600 meters away, which is great for buying souvenirs at a good price! The rooms are a bit small, but generally very clean and tidy. The breakfast offers a good variety, and there's also a large swimming pool! If you're looking for good value for money, this place is definitely a solid choice.

The hotel is conveniently located right by the Singapore River. My kids absolutely loved the split-level design of the room. While the room isn't huge, the three-part bathroom setup was incredibly practical, allowing everyone to use it at different times. The front desk service was quite good, definitely not as bad as some previous reviews suggested.

## Environment: The location is good, very close to the subway, making transportation convenient. There's a convenience store downstairs, so it's easy to grab a bite if you get hungry at night. We East Asians might find the smell in some areas a bit uncomfortable (mainly in the elevator; the lobby and rooms are fine. You know the drill). ## Hygiene: The room was quite clean. ## Service: Check-in involved a bit of a wait. For Singapore, it seems there are fewer staff who speak Chinese. Also, my breakfast records for two days weren't logged, so I had to explain and confirm with the staff every morning. ## Breakfast: Perhaps to cater to the needs of Indian guests, the breakfast here was truly difficult to describe... ## Facilities: The hotel facilities are quite old, but! The important thing is that the rooms are really spacious. If you're not a fan of Singapore's super small-sized rooms, I highly recommend this place. Additionally, the hotel decor might remind you of the golden nineties; it's quite retro and stylish in its own way.

Great location! Dhoby Ghaut is a fantastic hub with three MRT lines, and buses are convenient too. But Singapore is small enough that you can actually walk to many places. The hotel's condition is just average, probably on par with a 3-star hotel in China. It's a 5-minute walk from the SkyHelix. The first time I arrived at Beach Station, I followed navigation to take bus A, but after getting off, I had to walk quite a distance to reach the hotel. That entrance led to the front desk on the 8th floor. Later, I found out it's only about a 10-minute walk from the 1st floor to Beach Station, so overall, it's not bad.

Have stayed here 3 times on each visit to SG over the past year. The location is great. Only some rooms have bidet, and where one of our rooms has no bidet, there is a mini fridge. Hope that very room will get a bidet and mini fridge eventually. The TV is useless as the Internet is too slow to cast anything on it. Maybe provide a HDMI cable so we could connect our devices to it. Wish there are stretch bands and roller foam provided in the gym. I’ve seen some guests confused over the way to use the washer and dryer, so it might be good to print a poster with instructions to use them.

Stayed 3D2N with my daughter to meet my youngest daughter from SMU. The hotel nearby SMU Campus . The hotel room is very big room compare i survey the other hotel, , newly renovated and clean. The staff are very friendly, especially the front counter staff. The hotel provides a water filter machine on every floor (reminder: bring your own tumbler 👍). The location is very convenient for MRT — just a few steps away from Bras Basah MRT 🚇, and Bus Stop are available directly to Suntec City Mall and Marina Bay. Within a 5-minute walk, you can reach Bugis Street, Bugis Junction, and Bugis+ for shopping and food. In front of the the Bugis Malll, there’s a Chinese hawker stall — the chicken rice is nice, cheap, and delicious 😋. Overall, it’s a great place to stay. For this price, don't expect too much from the cleanliness. Lower your expectations, and you might find it just about okay. The pros: It's close to the Rainbow Police Station, Fort Canning Park, and the Little India temple. Public transport and MRT stations are a guaranteed 10-minute walk away, and there's a 7-Eleven within 5 minutes. Even though it was hot and we were tired in the afternoon, the kids still had energy, so we let them go to the pool. It's small, which is good, and not too deep, so I just relaxed on a lounge chair while they had a blast all afternoon. Clarke Quay is right next door. Cleanliness is just average, and the rooms are small. Next time, if I increase my budget slightly, I'd stay at the Ascott Roberson House nearby.

Decent place to stay. Clean and a very nice gym and good service by the people. Was given a room on 3rd floor corner with no nice views so had to go to the 4th floor pool area for that view. So do take note that yhere is a chance for a room with a view of the corner carpark entrance/road. There is a small “mall” behind called the plaza but it’s kind of dead with one or two restaurants. I chose this hotel for its design, and indeed, I really liked the design of the 4th floor upon check-in. The greenery was beautiful, and the constant birdsong was lovely. The location is also good; taxis to Marina Bay Sands were around 10 SGD. However, there were some things I wasn't happy about. First, there were mosquitoes in the room. My arms were bitten so badly in the middle of the night that they were swollen for two days. Also, the soundproofing wasn't great. I could hear the elevator noise until late at night, even though my room wasn't right next to it. I paid extra for breakfast, but it was very mediocre. Both the taste and variety were just average and didn't justify the room rate. Lastly, none of the hotel staff spoke Chinese, at least not anyone I encountered during my two-day stay.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.49km from downtown
I had a staycation at the Swissotel on a weekday night. Since it was quite late, check-in was smooth and fast. I was given a city view premier (Standard) room on the 24th floor. The room was of an odd shape with a long corridor which reduced noise levels. Since the hotel is almost 40 years old now, the rooms are quite spacious, and I enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the large couch and had a great sleep on the wide king bed. However, I did notice some very short strands of hair on the pillow even before I laid down, which makes me wonder if the pillowcase had been washed in between guests. During the daytime, the warm sunlight lit up the surrounding colonial buildings well (CHIJMES, Raffles Hotel etc) and it made for great pictures that I managed to shoot from the balcony of the room. Having stayed at the sister property-- Fairmont Hotel before, I was a little disappointed that the toiletries were of a seemingly ordinary brand, as opposed to LeLabo used at Fairmont which is usually similarly priced but more luxurious. I feel that the minibar area can be upgraded, since currently it looks dark and rather out of place as compared to the rest of the well decorated room. Nespresso and TWG Tea were available, while oddly enough the minibar was empty. At the Fairmont for comparison, there is an overengineered but fully stocked minibar with sensors that will detect the drink leaving the fridge and exorbitant charges will be applied. The room also felt slightly older - Some nicks on the wall, frames etc, as I learned that Swissotel was last renovated in 2019 while Fairmont was renovated slightly later. The USB-A ports also gave away the room's age. There seemed to be rather few charging plugs available for such a large room. Location of the hotel is superb, with convenient transport downstairs via the MRT and it is easy to get a Grabcar. It is also connected to the shopper's paradise, Raffles City Shopping Mall. Singapore faces an acute manpower shortage in the hotel and hospitality industry, but I never once felt service was an issue here. The reception and concierge were amply staffed, staff were friendly and could be seen proactively helping guests with their luggage. I also did not have to wait to check in/out. There is a large gym on the property, raved about by other reviews, but I did not visit it since it is on the Fairmont side of the hotel [quite a walk away] and I got lost trying to find it. Lastly, I could not resist visiting the Skai Restaurant which Swissotel is most known for since it is among the tallest restaurants in Singapore -- taller than Marina Bay Sands. It is located on the 70th floor of the hotel and I had a 3-course lunch there. Service was great as to be expected, but prices are steep - if you don't have the 30% Accor Plus discount. While the food was alright, the view was simply superb since it is unblocked on all sides. I would recommend visiting just for the view, but I heard that there could be a minimum order of 1 main course needed to enter. Overall, nitpicking aside, the Swissotel is one of the better 5 star hotels in Singapore and a great choice for business travellers. Asides from the not so clean pillow I could not find any other major faults. However, since Fairmont and Swissotel are both usually similarly priced at $400+, and having stayed at both before, I would recommend the Fairmont over the Swissotel since it offers a slightly more luxurious experience for not that much more.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.61km from downtown
Stayed at The Waterfront for three days straight. The breakfast selection changed slightly each day, which was nice. I highly recommend the waffles; they're made fresh and are super crispy and fragrant. I had one every morning! The masala tea was a bit strong on the spices, so it might not be for everyone, but overall, the breakfast spread was truly abundant and left me feeling stuffed. The pool is on the smaller side and a bit shallow, so don't expect too much from it. Getting around is super convenient. It's very close to the subway with an overhead walkway, making it easy to reach anywhere.

Chinatown Singapore|0.83km from downtown
The room isn't big, and the facilities aren't new either; it has a rather strong 'influencer aesthetic.' However, the upside is the excellent pool view, and the executive lounge maintains a high standard. During happy hour in the evening, the chef, a young Chinese man, made delicious pan-fried shrimp and scallops with olive oil, and the service was very patient. Honestly, you don't really get a sense of the forest from the room, so don't bother coming specifically for that.
