Service Benefits

Passengers holding connecting flight tickets through the cities listed above who meet Air China’s product rules may be eligible for a complimentary transit hotel stay. This service includes:

  • A one-night hotel stay
  • Complimentary breakfast
  • Free round-trip shuttle transfers between the airport and the hotel (where available)

The service tiers, hotel categories, and eligible cities/airports are as follows:

  • Luxury Transit Accommodation: Available in Beijing (Capital), Chengdu (Tianfu), and Shanghai (Pudong).
  • Standard Transit Accommodation: Available in Beijing (Capital & Daxing), Chengdu (Tianfu), Shanghai (Pudong), Hangzhou, Tianjin, and Wenzhou.

Important Notes:

(1) How "Connecting Flights" Are Determined

Air China defines a "connecting flight segment" based on three consecutive destinations in your full travel itinerary.

The city providing the hotel accommodation acts as the central hub, grouping together your preceding departure airport and your next destination airport. Each qualified three-destination segment is eligible for one transit hotel booking.

Example: > If your full flight route is Shenzhen - Chengdu - Beijing - New York:

  • You can apply for a transit hotel in Chengdu based on the Shenzhen - Chengdu - Beijing segment.
  • You can apply for a transit hotel in Beijing based on the Chengdu - Beijing - New York segment.

(2) Limited Availability

Because the daily room capacity at our partner hotels is limited, complimentary transit accommodation cannot be guaranteed for all eligible passengers. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We highly recommend booking your hotel stay as soon as your flight itinerary is confirmed.

Hotel and Room Allocation Policies:

  • Preferred Hotels & Single Rooms: If hotel vacancy allows, passengers who meet the criteria for a specific hotel or a single-occupancy room will receive priority allocation within that service standard. If the hotel has limited room availability, Air China cannot guarantee that the final booking will match your exact preferences.
  • System-Autofilled Bookings: For passengers who do not meet the criteria for a specific hotel or a single-occupancy room, accommodations will be automatically assigned by the system, and the system's final assignment shall prevail.
  • Changing Your Booking: If you wish to change your assigned hotel, room type, or number of rooms, you may cancel your original booking and attempt to rebook, provided it is done within the product's valid booking window. However, Air China does not guarantee the availability or outcome of the new booking. If you remain unsatisfied after rebooking, you may voluntarily choose whether or not to continue using this transit service.
  • Multi-Passenger Bookings (Mixed Eligibility): * If a single booking request includes multiple passengers where some meet the criteria for a preferred hotel/single room and others do not, custom hotel selection will not be supported for that entire group.
    • If a single booking request includes multiple passengers where some qualify for higher-tier hotels and others only qualify for lower-tier hotels, the entire booking request will only be eligible for the lower-tier hotel category.
