Our 3-day stay in Lhasa was absolutely fantastic, especially traveling with my mom. The hotel's convenience, cleanliness, and excellent service really made our mother-daughter trip much more harmonious.
- The location is incredibly convenient. It's about 1.5 kilometers to Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and photo shoot spots, all easily walkable. We explored Lhasa entirely on foot during our stay.
- They were well-prepared for altitude sickness. The room has an oxygen concentrator that can be used for diffusion or nasal cannula. On the first night, I foolishly took a shower and felt nauseous and dizzy in the middle of the night, doubting my existence. The butler came to help me with the oxygen concentrator in the middle of the night, and I finally got two hours of sleep after using oxygen until dawn. I searched for altitude sickness on Xiaohongshu, feeling like I was on the verge of needing a hospital. The front desk on the second floor has a pulse oximeter, and I felt relieved after seeing my reading was in the 80s.
- I can't praise the butlers and front desk enough; their service was perfect! It wasn't the fake kind of luxury service you often find, but genuinely thoughtful and comfortable.
- The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the Potala Palace, making breakfast a delightful experience.
This hotel deserves all the praise! The moment we stepped into the parking lot, we were greeted by that signature scent of a five-star hotel. As soon as we entered, the authentic ******* decor immediately immersed us in a wonderful atmosphere.
The front desk staff were incredibly efficient with check-in, and they even upgraded our room for free! While we waited, we sipped on rhodiola tea and enjoyed a welcome dance – it was an amazing experience.
The room design was thoughtful, the amenities were high-end, and every little detail exuded quality.
This is the first hidden gem of a hotel that has made us fall in love with an entire city just because of our stay there!
This Yishang is really highly recommended. The area is very quiet. It is not far from the cloth palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. It takes ten minutes to take a taxi. It has its own underground parking lot and is friendly to self-driving. The room is large, the hotel room in the city center is small, and many have no windows. It is recommended to choose a comfortable environment for a long time, there is dispersion oxygen supply, don't worry about high reaction. And the service is in place, all kinds of details can be reflected, the little girl at the front desk and the security guy, they are very neat, flexible, sincere and enthusiastic.
The room was great; housekeeping cleaned it daily during my stay. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The overall environment was quiet and peaceful, with several good restaurants nearby. It's also very close to the Princess Wencheng Grand Theater. The lobby has a dedicated tea bar offering hot water and tea, and they also sell local specialties at very reasonable prices. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Lhasa.

This was one of the most satisfying hotels on our Tibet trip. The entire place had a very distinct and local character. When they found out we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a room with a terrace and a bathtub. Our butler, Tsering Dhondup, brought our luggage to the room and gave us a very detailed and thoughtful explanation of everything. He also set up a group chat, and his responses were always prompt. The hotel owner has excellent personal taste; guests receive a complimentary hat and a collection of Tsangyang Gyatso's poems. The mini-bar and snacks are restocked daily, and a 'goodnight drink' is provided every evening. We went out sightseeing on the night we checked in, and were pleasantly surprised the next morning to find that they had even set up a table and chairs on the terrace. The hotel offers a wide range of activities from morning till night. We participated in a sound bath session, which was a unique experience. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to Lhasa.

The experience of staying in Lhasa is really full, highly recommended! The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to the Potala Palace, Tibet Museum, and Robrinka. It is super convenient to travel and play. It is all available for eating and shopping around. You don't need to travel long distances. It saves time and worry about visiting attractions.
The overall facilities of the hotel are very new, the decoration is simple and light and luxurious with a strong Tibetan scenery, the room is spacious and bright, warm and comfortable. The bedding is soft and clean, the sleep experience is very good, the bedside atmosphere lighting design is very exquisite, with the plateau beauty hanging paintings, the atmosphere is full. The room has a large screen TV, desk and seating facilities, whether it is a rest and relaxation or a simple office is very suitable.
The bathroom is very good for dry and wet separation, clean and tidy without odor, smart toilet, large top spray, light dressing mirror, hair dryer, bathroom decoration is high-end atmosphere, sanitation is particularly meticulous, and the corners are spotless.
The front desk staff was warm and caring, the attitude was gentle and thoughtful, and the stay was comfortable. The plateau accommodation is clean and not humid, the overall experience is far beyond expectations, the price is super high, come to Lhasa to travel and close your eyes and stay without stepping on thunder, next time you come to Lhasa, you will definitely choose this one!

Our room was upgraded to a family room, room 327. To be honest, the hotel is located quite deep in an alley, about a 500-meter walk from the main road... All the room windows are single-paned and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years... The towels and bath towels were all dated 2023 and weren't very soft anymore. We booked through Ctrip, which helped with the room upgrade and included complimentary breakfast. Don't expect too much from this hotel; it's quite different from a Holiday Inn Express on the mainland. The breakfast was just passable, nothing to write home about.
After all those downsides, let's talk about the positives: it's incredibly cheap. Booked on Ctrip during the off-peak season (August 31st - September 3rd), and with a Lhasa culture and tourism subsidy voucher, it came down to about 160 RMB per night. Secondly, you need a key card to access the floors, which makes it quiet and secure.
If you're traveling independently and plan to be out sightseeing daily, the location is a bit far. It's about 2.5 km to Potala Palace (15 RMB by taxi) and roughly 3.5 km to Jokhang Temple. Lhasa's cost of living is much higher than Chengdu's. You'll notice it significantly in taxi fares and dining expenses. This was my first visit, and I didn't experience altitude sickness. I found it truly beautiful. Here are a few recommendations:
🚩FYI: I didn't take Rhodiola before entering Tibet and didn't experience altitude sickness upon landing. The hotel I stayed at upon arrival didn't provide oxygen, and I didn't even buy an oxygen tank, yet I adapted just fine. So, flying into Tibet is the most relaxed way. Traveling by train or self-driving is exhausting, and you're just as likely to get altitude sickness anyway.
🔹Attractions: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Ramoche Temple, Sera Monastery, Tibet Museum, Princess Wencheng Show, Chakpori Hill viewpoint, Barkhor Street... I recommend exploring at your own pace, taking it easy... stopping frequently and avoiding strenuous exercise.
🔸Food: Sichuan cuisine dominates. Aside from those speaking *******, everyone else speaks Sichuan dialect. Goods are not easy to transport in, so prices are comparable to first-tier cities. The air is dry and UV radiation is incredibly strong... I didn't get a tan all summer, but two days here turned me completely dark! [laughing emoji]
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! 🙋♀️🙋
The service was excellent! Customer service reached out beforehand and upgraded us to an oxygen-enriched room upon arrival, which was incredibly thoughtful for a high-altitude area! They even helped us set up the oxygen concentrator, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. The room was clean and bright, with smart controls, and the breakfast was plentiful! It was a fantastic experience, thank you for your hard work!
Clean, great service, comfortable environment, and convenient transportation. I'm very satisfied with everything, and the value for money is exceptional. I'll definitely come again next time, highly recommended!

GGuest UserMy stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lhasa was absolutely impeccable from start to finish. Every detail, from the airport pickup to daily living, dining, and transportation, showcased professionalism and warmth. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lhasa!
The airport pickup service was punctual and attentive. The driver was calm and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries.
I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease.
The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness.
Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. Whether it was helping with facilities, addressing requests, or providing temporary assistance, they were efficient and warm, truly making us feel at home.
From airport transfers and butler service to restaurant care, the Shangri-La Hotel's exceptional dedication protected our entire journey, making our high-altitude trip warm and smooth.
GGuest UserWe called ahead to let the hotel know it was our 5th wedding anniversary and hoped they could decorate the room for us. We were so pleasantly surprised when we entered – red bedding and swans folded from towels really showed the hotel's thoughtfulness. Manager Kuang even gave us a tour of the hotel garden, where we met a cute golden retriever named Zhouzhou! I wasn't dressed appropriately to pet dogs, otherwise I definitely would have played with her. We heard they're planning to build a pet park and organize some parent-child activities soon, which sounds amazing. We hope to see it on our next visit.
Special thanks to Aunt Bian Zhen from housekeeping, Manager Kuang from the front desk, and Pubu Zhaxi from security who helped us with our luggage and parking. These three were truly warm, enthusiastic, and responsible. Experiencing such excellent service in the highlands was even better than the St. Regis in Lhasa! Oh, and Miss Baima from the Liao Bar was also very lovely! We had an unforgettable anniversary.
GGuest UserFree pick-up service from railway station or civil aviation bus station: will arrive at the station in advance and wait to receive the hotel
Facilities: complete and complete
Hygienic: clean and tidy
Environment: The environment has nothing to say. The room can see the panoramic view of the city and the night view of the Potala Palace. The aisle can see the mountain view.
Service: The service is very good. The young ladies at the front desk are very beautiful. They will also help write Tibetan.
ZZizaibanruoxingzheThis hotel made me feel at home on the plateau.
I have to give a huge thumbs up to the Gyirong Chomo Langzong Hotel! I didn't have high expectations for a high-altitude stay, but I was blown away the moment I walked in—a rich ******* style blended with modern design. The lobby was filled with a faint scent of ******* incense, instantly soothing the fatigue from the bumpy ride.
· Before I could even speak as I got off the car, a young man with a super-smiling smile came trotting over to take my luggage (I later learned it was Xiao Rui!)
· They proactively upgraded our room upon check-in, and upon entering the room, we were served hot soy milk and fruit.
· The recommended, non-influenced viewpoint was absolutely amazing! I captured the full view of Jinshan Mountain in the sun!
I'll definitely be booking this hotel next time I'm in Tibet!

LLvlingfan007The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful.
GGuest User1. This is by far the best value, most comfortable, and tastiest hotel in Lhasa. I first stayed here during the Keriya Pass trip and was so impressed that I've returned every time since, and have even recommended it to friends.
2. The service is consistently excellent, the rooms are spacious, and they provide oxygen, humidifiers, and ample heating. The parking lot is also large.
3. The breakfast is incredibly diverse and genuinely delicious – it's got that authentic wok-hei flavor! It's far superior to many five-star hotels that offer variety but lack taste. They even provide convenient individual bread portions for takeaway.
4. I didn't have time to eat fruit at breakfast, so a lovely front desk attendant kindly packed a small box for me. So thoughtful! The fruit was sweet and fresh, and the quality was excellent.
5. Because of this Lhasa hotel, I now only consider staying at Pingcuo Kangsang hotels whenever I'm in Tibet. I truly recommend it!
