It is a hotel with a very good location and very good service from the receptionist. The condition of the hotel is excellent, no complaints. The room is large, the bathroom is clean, the toilet is separated from the shower, there is a small part of the room where the maid works to clean every day. There is an onsen, a fitness room and a restaurant. I recommend it. If you come to stay in Kyoto, you must come to this hotel only. It is really good.

The hotel boasts an excellent location and is instantly captivating. Choosing Kawaramachi for your Kyoto trip is definitely a smart decision. This charming hotel, a stylish conversion of a former school building, features a spacious lawn downstairs. Blue Bottle Coffee is also conveniently located within the hotel premises. The subway, Takashimaya department store, and the Kamo River are all just a stone's throw away. Upon arrival, it felt both wonderfully novel and oddly familiar, as if we had stepped into the tranquil world of a Ghibli film... It was exceptionally clean and remarkably peaceful ❤️. The hotel's attention to detail is impressive, and the staff, particularly the Japanese ladies, were incredibly thoughtful. One even went the extra mile, personally bringing drink vouchers directly to our room! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

The hotel's location isn't ideal; its primary convenience is its proximity to public transport. You'll need to take a bus to reach most places, including Kyoto Station, despite a nearby bus stop. Breakfast was abundant but lacked flavor. Upon check-in, we were assigned an older room on the second floor and had to request a room change due to the extremely noisy bathroom exhaust fan. The gym charges a fee for each use, and the public bath, though clean, is quite small. Housekeeping could be more flexible; for our four-night stay, the room was only cleaned on the fourth day. Cleaning on the third day would have been much more practical. Furthermore, breakfast required selecting a fixed time slot with a voucher.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, just a 3-minute walk from Keage Subway Station. It's also conveniently located within a 5-10 minute walk of major attractions like Nanzen-ji Temple, Eikan-do Temple, and the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art. Plus, popular coffee shops like M Stand Coffee and Blue Bottle Coffee are a mere 3-minute stroll away. The accommodation and facilities were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The hotel was very near JR Kyoto station maybe about 5 mins walk. Opposite is Don Quitoe which made it easier to buy things. We loved the separation of the toilet and shower area and the shower area is big and comes with deep bathtub. The room is also quite spacious. I can fully open my luggage and still have space to move around. The buffet breakfast is amazing as there are many choices to choose from, especially the beef which is very nice. The hotel also comes with public bath but we didn’t try. Huge lobby and lounge to allow hotel guests to take coffee or tea. There is even a section to collect some amenities like lotion, shaver, bath towel which is a plus point. Definitely recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at your hotel during a trip to Kyoto and, unfortunately, I left feeling quite disappointed with several aspects of the experience. Due to a change in plans, I inquired about extending our stay in the same room with my family. However, I found the staff to be inflexible with pricing, which left me no choice but to book an additional night through a third-party service. As a result, we were moved to a smaller room, which was inconvenient — particularly as I was traveling with my 82-year-old mother. Additionally, I requested a wheelchair rental early one morning for the following day. I was initially told this would be arranged, but later that evening, a letter was slipped under our door stating that the wheelchair would not be available until noon. When I contacted the front desk, I was simply told that someone else had requested it before us. This was confusing and frustrating, especially since I had made the request well in advance. Overall, these issues made our stay far more difficult than it needed to be, especially considering we were traveling with an elderly family member. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider ways to improve communication and flexibility for future guests.

This is my third visit to Kyoto, and having always stayed near Nishi Honganji Temple, I can confidently say this is the best hotel I've experienced so far in the area. I stayed here for four consecutive nights this time, and my overall experience was excellent. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It seemed to attract a lot of Western guests, and they offer a convenient shuttle service to Kyoto Station. I felt it offered excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The hotel is a 7-8 minute walk from Kyoto Station, with a convenience store right next door. We stayed during the summer. While waiting for our transport at the main entrance, there were so many mosquitoes! My child got bitten 6 times instantly, which was incredibly frustrating. I then noticed two or three on my own hand. The sheer number of mosquitoes was very off-putting, especially since we didn't encounter any while shopping in the Kawaramachi area in the evening. I'm not sure why there was such a difference. The room itself was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel. They offered late-night snacks in the lobby. Unfortunately, there was construction going on nearby, so we were woken up early by the noise. Otherwise, it was pretty unremarkable, with a standard star-rated hotel decor.

The hotel is quite a distance from both the subway station and the main shopping street, making shopping quite inconvenient. Even the bus stop requires about a 100-meter walk and crossing an overpass. They offer a public bathhouse with separate sections for men and women. The water was quite clean, and it felt incredibly relaxing to soak in after a long day of walking. My room, located on the 9th floor, had a distinct urine-like odor when the air conditioning was turned on. The smell only dissipated after I used the air purifier. The included buffet breakfast had a rather limited selection of items. On a positive note, there's an excellent ramen shop located right downstairs from the hotel, which is definitely worth a visit.

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. GGuest UserThis hotel boasts an excellent location, being just a block away from the base of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Gion is also easily accessible with about a 20-minute walk. The hotel is immaculately clean, and the soundproofing is superb; even with a live band playing in the lobby, we couldn't hear any noise from our room. The staff were all incredibly courteous and polite. Breakfast is a combination of à la carte and buffet, and the Western breakfast options were quite good. Overall, a fantastic experience.

GGuest UserThe location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a short walk across a small road from Kyoto Station. Just a heads-up though, there are actually two hotels co-located here. We initially went to the wrong one, which was a bit awkward, but thankfully, a kind staff member from the adjacent hotel showed us to ours. We booked a room with three one-meter beds, and they were very comfortable. The hotel room was actually quite spacious. The bathroom featured a 'three-compartment' design, with the toilet in its own separate cubicle. This design is excellent; it perfectly suited one family member's preference for privacy when using the toilet, and it didn't interfere with us washing our faces and hands. If we ever return to Kyoto, we will definitely choose this hotel again.

GGuest UserWe had a lovely stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto! It's clean, comfortable, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, which made us feel right at home. Our room was surprisingly spacious—both the bedroom and the bathroom, which was such a pleasant surprise! One of the best things about this hotel is its unbeatable location—right at Kyoto Station. It made traveling around, especially hopping on the Shinkansen or taking the Japan Rail to explore local spots, incredibly easy and convenient. Kyoto Station isn't just a transport hub—it’s a vibrant place full of life! With so many shops and restaurants, we found ourselves happily wandering, eating, and browsing for hours. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some leisure time between our adventures. There’s something for everyone, and the atmosphere is so lively—it really added to our Kyoto experience The only downside was that our room was quite a distance from the elevator, which meant a lot of walking back and forth. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but next time, we’ll definitely request a room closer to the elevator to save our legs. Overall, we’d happily stay here again when we return to Kyoto!

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

LLinxianshengguahuziFacilities: The hotel is well-equipped with amenities such as a gym, laundry room, and ice machines, though they are a bit on the smaller side. The rooms are quite spacious, and the bathrooms even feature separate wet and dry areas. However, the corner room I chose required a bit of a walk to get to. Service: The staff were very friendly and attentive, upholding the high standards typical of service in Kyoto. A late check-out until 12 PM was a nice bonus. Location: The location is average. There's a Karasuma Subway Station nearby, which you typically need to use for transfers when exploring the city. For everyday essentials and conveniences, there's a supermarket, Starbucks, and Blue Bottle Coffee all close by. However, finding a decent restaurant after 7:30 PM requires a bit of a walk.

GGuest UserThe hotel is just one subway stop from Kyoto Station to Gojo. Take Exit 1, and it's a mere 3-minute walk. The breakfast was average, with mostly Western guests during our stay. A great perk is the large public bath on the basement floor, where complimentary ice cream and coffee are also available. Plus, the hotel is quite close to the Kamo River, easily reachable on foot!

AAnonymous UserFirstly, the location is superb. Kyoto Station is just a 10-minute walk away, and there are abundant dining options, convenience stores, Yodobashi Camera, and Don Quijote all within easy walking distance. Priced around 500, this established 5-star hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious by Japanese standards, providing incredible value for money. Free parking and EV charging stations are also available. They also have Chinese-speaking staff. The only minor imperfection was finding a hair on the bed, suggesting they could pay closer attention to detail in their cleaning.
