HuifeidenazhiyangThe Urban Hotel is really good. There's one on Shijo and one on Gojo, and I've stayed at both. They're excellent. When I come to Kyoto, I usually choose this brand. They are very clean, and both locations have a large public bath, which I really love.

云博This is a venerable super five-star hotel with an excellent location, though it's a bit out of the city center, making it quite inconvenient for getting to sights, attractions, and dining. However, the hotel shuttle bus to Kyoto Station is a lifesaver. The hotel was renovated a few years ago, but it still retains its 40+ years of history and luxurious decor, now blended with modern, clean design elements. Charging facilities and hygiene are excellent. I would definitely stay here again!

Guest UserWhen we chose this hotel, we saw pictures and videos that made us think it was a resort estate, but it's not. There's very little to see inside the hotel; I could walk through the entire property in 5 minutes. Secondly, the hotel advertises natural hot springs, but the public ones reek of disinfectant as soon as you walk in, which is very unpleasant. The room itself was okay and had character, and the bathtub was very large with a pleasant woody scent when bathing. Finally, the breakfast – honestly, the taste was just mediocre. I wouldn't choose this hotel again at the same price point.

jimmy0607Our experience at Six Senses Kyoto was truly wonderful. As a new hotel opened in 2024, it exudes an elegant Japanese Zen style, and the public courtyard is particularly photogenic. The room was spacious enough at 42 square meters, and the attention to detail was impeccable. The breakfast selection was rich, offering both local Kyoto flavors and Western options, and the quality of the food was excellent. Its location isn't far from Gion and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The only slight downside is that it's a bit of a distance from the subway, so I'd recommend taking a taxi for getting around. The service was meticulous and attentive, making for a very relaxing stay overall, perfect for those looking to slow down and enjoy a holiday.

HshmetcaWe decided to book Nogha whilst we were in Kyoto so we could relax a little more than in previous locations. We opted for a bigger room to have some space and it didn't disappoint. The bed was huge, the room for two was a really good size. It was clean and well decorated.
The bakery downstairs was a great addition, we had breakfast there on our consecutive mornings. I would thoroughly recommend it if you're looking for a nice four star hotel and something a little quiet.
Staff were also lovely and our luggage had been taken to our room when we checked in.

Chewy93Great location right next to Kyoto station. Very beautiful lobby and huge room. No view as it is in a small street to the side of Kyoto station. Very convenient and next to taxi station. The hotel believes in sustainability so all your amenities like toothbrush and paste, shavers etc need to be requested on the iPad or asked at reception. There is a Lawson and 711 within a minute from the hotel.

Hera SzGreat hotel room, spacious and comfortable . Beds were soft and the toilet was big with two separate places to shower , sink and the toilet itself . Remember to close the window of the bathtub otherwise people can see you taking a shower (even it is far distance).
The onsen was great with sauna, cold onsen, outdoor natural hot springs and indoor.
The negative point is that every floor they have smoking área and the smell of cigarette was in my room every night . We had to turn on the a/c and the air purifier and in the next day ask staff to keep the windows opened for ventilation .
The location is privileged just ten minutes walking from the train station.
There are supermarkets nearby and it is quite convenient to eat around , with meals of all ranges of prices .

Guest UserIt was extremely hot during our stay in Kyoto. Fortunately, the hotel is located right next to Kyoto Station, which made getting around much easier and helped us save energy in the intense heat.
We chose to pay extra for larger rooms, and they were spacious and comfortable. Since we had a late evening flight, we paid around JP¥14,800 to extend one room until 6:00 pm for a late check-out. While it was convenient, we felt JP¥14,800 was quite expensive for just a few extra hours.
One thing we found surprising was that hotel guests still had to pay extra JP ¥1,000 per person to use the swimming pool. We thought this was rather unusual for a hotel of this standard.

The concierge team is really resourceful and helpful when we asked about luggage delivery service, thumbs up for their service. Just love everything about the hotel, excellent hospitality, great location, beautiful design, spacious room, comfortable bed and etc. Breakfast with huge selection including some Thai dishes, crispy bacons ever, just amazing. It was really great value for the money, highly recommended!
