A very charming cottage, though be prepared for slightly older facilities inside. There was a faint musty smell, but personally, I didn't find it too bothersome, and it was impeccably clean. Taller individuals might want to consider other options. The hotel's surroundings are excellent, and it's super close to both the outlet mall and the station, with a shuttle service available. The hotel also features tennis courts and other activities. The breakfast quality and dining environment were both great – definitely worth booking. Major highlight: You can rent bicycles and e-bikes directly from the hotel. If you rent for a full day, you don't need to return it before 5 PM. If returning after 5 PM, just park the bike in the designated spot and drop the key and receipt into the collection box. I highly recommend the e-bikes for exploring Karuizawa!

The best thing about this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. You can see the JR entrance right from your room, which is perfect for those catching early morning day trips (many tour groups meet right by the JR ticket gates). Plus, when you return in the evening, you're right by all the restaurants at the JR station. The room itself is quite small, but the breakfast spread is excellent.

This is the best choice if the kids want to ski and the adults want a place to wander around! We can relax in the hot springs, stroll around the outlets, and the kids can ski to their hearts' content. We can also drive to the Karuizawa shopping street for a leisurely walk. It's an effortless trip, perfect!

Buffet breakfast was great, children eats free. We have a car so is accessible. Ski field a short 8 mins away. Onsen was nice, unfortunately not all guests followed the rules. Would be perfect if they provided Japanese toiletries in the hotel room (Dove brand provided). Room with balcony was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the facilities, hospitality. Highly recommended.

Stepping inside, we were greeted by the iconic stove, and a thoughtful warm drink, which was a lovely touch. The service was very welcoming. The room, for Japan, was quite spacious and even had a balcony, though it was bare in winter. Both breakfast and dinner were extensive. Dinner, which we pre-booked, was a standout with its distinctive and delicious Western cuisine.

Right next to Karuizawa Snow Park! It's a 40-minute ride from Karuizawa Station on their free shuttle bus. As a guest, I got 20% off lift tickets and rentals (as of February 2026), which was great. What really stood out was that kids under 12 stay and eat for free. My children absolutely loved being able to 'check in' themselves with the kids' program. There were even missions, and they got a small gift for completing them. There's also a heated pool (for an extra charge) and a hot spring bath. With card games and a kids' room, there's no chance of getting bored. Despite a lot of kids being around, the dining area had widely spaced tables, so it felt quiet and relaxing. The food was delicious, and the kids were thrilled with the popcorn machine. I definitely want to come back during ski season!

The firefly at night was very good. I think I didn't see it like that when I went by myself, and I don't know the way well, and I think it was dangerous. It was kinder to guide you, and I was very happy to answer various questions. (I participated alone) I well understand that Tatsuno Cho is putting emphasis on fireflies by raising towns. I think it is thankful that you will protect valuable resources from now on. I think the dishes are standard, but the price was not so high and the room was beautiful. The quality of the hot spring was very good. The view is the best. It was one of the good memories of my trip that I sent to ina Shinmachi, an unmanned station. I thought that check-out was 10 o'clock earlier than 1 hour, and I wanted it to be at least 11 o'clock to slow down.

The best part about this hotel was definitely the breakfast – they had everything from Japanese to Western options. I especially loved the soba noodles and the fried eggs. The coffee was good too, and they offered various egg rolls. The room itself was quite spacious; we had no trouble fitting our two large suitcases. However, the bathroom was a bit small, feeling somewhat disproportionate to the rest of the room. The other hotel facilities were pretty basic; there wasn't much to attract us beyond just needing a place to sleep for the night. Because of this, paying over 3100+ per night (including breakfast) felt a bit expensive.

There is a shuttle service. I really like the hot springs here. You can soak in the hot springs while enjoying the beautiful scenery. There is also a shuttle bus to the ski resort. The only downside is that there are almost no restaurants and convenience stores around. But there is a microwave.

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying at the Karuizawa Marriott Hotel. The public onsen has both indoor and outdoor baths, and while the facilities were clean, the area was a bit small. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and the environment was quiet. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. Highly recommended!

GGuest User[Hilton Karuizawa | A Healing Hotel Worth a Special Trip] Our stay in Karuizawa truly exceeded expectations; the hotel's service and attention to detail were incredibly impressive. From the moment we arrived at Karuizawa Station, the hotel's shuttle service was fantastic. The driver was polite and attentive, so we didn't have to worry about our luggage or getting around. Upon check-in, our room was already prepared. We had booked a garden view room with a balcony. A floor-to-ceiling window framed the seasonal beauty of the Japanese garden like a painting. Sitting on the balcony with tea and a book, time seemed to slow down. The mini-bar in the room was complimentary, and a capsule coffee machine and tea set were provided, along with thoughtful welcome snacks. What I most want to praise is the service. The front desk and concierge staff were fluent in English, and their responses were prompt and professional whether we were asking about sightseeing routes, restaurant reservations, or shuttle arrangements. Once, we wanted to find a soba noodle restaurant popular with locals, and the concierge not only drew a detailed map by hand but also went the extra mile to call and confirm their operating hours for us. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with the option to order a main dish. The fresh local vegetables, fruits, and homemade jams from Karuizawa were especially delicious. Enjoying breakfast by the window while watching the morning light in the garden was pure bliss. While the selection wasn't extensive, every dish was exquisite, reflecting the chef's dedication. Although the hotel isn't brand new, it's very well-maintained, combining traditional Japanese style with modern comfort seamlessly. The Japanese bathhouse was clean and tranquil; a soak there left us feeling completely relaxed. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to walk to attractions like Old Karuizawa Ginza Street and Kumoba Pond, yet it's set away from the main street's hustle and bustle. If I had to point out any shortcomings, it would be that some of the guest rooms aren't particularly spacious, but the thoughtful layout and superb views completely make up for it. Overall, it's a quality choice I'd love to return to and would readily recommend to friends. It's especially ideal for travelers looking to slow down and relax in nature.

GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights on a family trip. The hotel is a luxurious establishment with three hotels, a chapel, and a wedding reception hall on a vast site of 230,000 square meters, and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing time. The breakfast buffet and French dinner were delicious, and the service was excellent. There was also a large hot spring bath, and there was plenty of greenery, so it was a pleasant walk. I recommend staying two or even three nights instead of just one.
