Holiday Inn Kunming City Centre – this place is truly a luxurious hideaway in the urban jungle! The location is absolutely unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of Kunming the moment you step out. Shopping, dining, and sightseeing attractions are all within easy walking distance; it's so convenient, my navigation app felt completely redundant. The room was so spacious it felt like there was a VIP lane just for my luggage. The bed was so incredibly soft, it could turn anyone into a 'Sleeping Beauty' (though I was most likely roused by the morning sun). The bathroom boasted water pressure strong enough to almost surf, turning a simple shower into a mini-vacation by Dian Lake. But the absolute highlight was breakfast: freshly prepared Cross-Bridge Noodles and Flower Pastries, and even the soy milk carried that unique Yunnan sweetness. I nearly turned the hotel into my personal canteen! The gentleman at the front desk had a smile as bright and inviting as Kunming's weather. Upon check-out, he even surprised me with a packet of Pu'er tea as a thoughtful souvenir. This gesture alone instantly made me a loyal fan! Next time I'm in Kunming, my feet will undoubtedly find their way back here automatically. After all, who could bear to leave this 'happy haven' where the entire city feels effortlessly at your fingertips?

It had been 20 years since I last visited Kunming — I was just 7 years old back then. This time, I came back for something truly special: to propose to my girlfriend on Qixi Festival, China’s Valentine’s Day. Given how much this moment meant to me, I wanted everything to be perfect. That’s why I chose the Grand Hyatt Kunming, a brand I’ve always trusted, and booked a Deluxe King Room with Club Access for August 28–30. The first night started well. We stayed on the 26th floor — even though the room was near the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet, and the layout and lighting made it feel warm and comfortable. Everything was off to a good start. But things took a turn the next day — the actual day of the proposal, August 29 — a day I had been planning for a long time. We were given a room on the 24th floor, and from the moment we walked in, I could tell something was off. The layout felt awkward, and the room was noticeably warmer than the night before. I turned on the air conditioning, but it didn’t seem strong enough. I even checked with the hotel staff that afternoon and was told the room was “standard size.” After the proposal (which thankfully went beautifully!), my fiancée and I left the room around 9:00 PM for dinner. Before leaving, we set the AC to 16°C, hoping we’d come back to a cool and comfortable space. But when we returned around 11:30 PM, the room temperature hadn’t improved at all. It was still stuffy, and the bathroom was even worse — no proper ventilation, just heat and humidity. We called the front desk, and two technicians came up. After checking everything, they told us the room was “normal.” I asked if we could switch rooms, but the request was brushed off. They just told us to wait — that it would eventually cool down. By then it was already 2:00 AM. Both of us were completely exhausted and had no energy left to argue. We tried to sleep. But at 8:30 AM, I woke up drenched in sweat — the room still hadn’t cooled down. Honestly, I’m heartbroken by this experience. This day was supposed to be one of the most memorable and romantic nights of our lives. And now, while we will remember it, it’s for the wrong reasons. I never imagined that a stay at a Grand Hyatt, in a room I paid extra for (with Club Access and “Deluxe” in the name), would turn out to be so disappointing. I didn’t come here expecting perfection. But I did expect basic comfort, and at the very least, a response from staff that showed they understood how important this stay was for us. Sadly, that didn’t happen.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to Kunming Botanical Garden and next to Yunnan Agricultural University. The environment of the Agricultural University is not inferior to that of the Botanical Garden, with green trees and a good place for walking. Although the hotel is a certain age, it is well maintained and does not feel old at all. It is clean and tidy. The flower arrangements and landscape shapes everywhere are very artistic. The service is also very good. Every employee I met greeted me with a smile. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Yang. The thoughtful service left us a good impression. He arranged fruit yogurt on time every day and kept asking us if we needed anything. After a day, we seemed to have become old friends. We couldn't help but greet each other enthusiastically when we met, because I felt that Xiao Yang wanted to provide us with better service from the bottom of his heart. This sincerity is something I have never felt in other hotels. In addition, the hotel restaurant is really delicious and highly recommended. For this reason, we stayed for another day.

On a recent business trip, I chose to stay at this hotel, and my overall experience was very positive! Everyone, from the front desk staff to the cleaning crew, was exceptionally polite. Their service was both meticulous and enthusiastic, making me feel incredibly comfortable. The room had a cozy ambiance and was impeccably clean. The bed was wonderfully soft and comfortable, and the amenities were comprehensive. The only minor drawback was the slightly poor soundproofing. In the early morning, I could clearly hear cleaning sounds from the adjacent room, which might be an issue for light sleepers. I hope this can be improved in the future, but it's a minor flaw that doesn't detract from the overall excellent experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again if given the opportunity!

The hotel boasts an elegant ambiance and brand-new facilities. The attentive and genuinely warm service made our entire stay exceed all expectations. Its prime location offers excellent transport convenience. The rooms were spotless and completely odor-free, providing fantastic value for money – truly highly recommended! The comfortable bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, complemented by excellent soundproofing. The breakfast spread was rich and varied, with quality truly evident in every thoughtful detail.

Overall, I am very satisfied. The environment is simple and elegant, which is my favorite type. The service is good, but what is missing is the prompt response from the WeChat butler. The facilities are also very good and the rooms are large. It is a new hotel after all! Takeaways will also be delivered to the room. Quite close to the subway and shopping malls. The cleaning aunt in the hotel also has a very good attitude. Since I go out a little late every day, the cleaning aunt will wait outside the door before going in to clean the room. It is very heartwarming! I will still choose this hotel next time and my stay is very comfortable.

Like a miniature Atour. I primarily chose this hotel for its unbeatable location. It's literally just 75 steps (no exaggeration!) from Exit C of Jiaosanqiao Metro Station, offering incredibly easy access to the airport and major commercial centers. What truly thrilled me was the vibrant local market right outside the hotel; it's well-stocked and very affordable. I picked up some great fruit, and there's a stall inside that sells absolutely delicious shredded chicken – a strong recommendation! Just a short right turn away, you'll also find a Jianshui Water Bamboo Shoot Rice Noodle shop; their water bamboo shoots and mushroom caps are definitely a must-try. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They kindly upgraded my room and allowed a late check-out, which I sincerely appreciate. The facilities are comprehensive; although the room wasn't particularly spacious, it had everything necessary. Rooms facing the residential area are exceptionally quiet at night. Complimentary tea and snacks are provided. The shower stall is roomy with excellent water pressure and drainage, and the toiletries were very pleasant to use. While the toilet featured smart flushing, I was slightly disappointed it didn't include a bidet function. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any friends planning a visit to Kunming.

My recent stay at Gongxili Jun'ao Hotel (Nanping Pedestrian Street branch) was absolutely wonderful; I simply *have* to share my experience! The hotel's location is simply unbeatable, nestled right in the heart of Kunming's Nanping Pedestrian Street shopping district. The moment you step out, you're greeted by a vibrant, lively atmosphere. It's just a 5-minute walk to Zhengyifang Shopping Center and Kunming Old Street. Strolling through these areas at your leisure, soaking in the authentic local vibe and bustling street life, is incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. What's more, the hotel offers superb connectivity. Whether you want to take the subway to Green Lake to see the seagulls or capture the stunning night view of Jinma Biji Archway, it's all incredibly convenient. Even Dianchi Lake is just about a 15-minute drive away, making getting around exceptionally easy. Check-in at the front desk was very quick, and the staff were warm, attentive, and thorough. They even thoughtfully introduced the hotel's facilities and recommended some great local spots to explore. Overall, my stay at Jun'ao Hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect – from its prime location and room amenities to the excellent service and common area experience. Next time I visit Kunming, I'll definitely be choosing this place again!

This was by far the most satisfying hotel stay of our trip. Upon check-in, we realized the two rooms we booked were on different floors. However, the front desk promptly offered a complimentary room upgrade, ensuring our senior family members and us could stay on the same floor. The rooms were incredibly new and well-appointed, featuring a microwave, coffee machine, and a separate kitchen area. The hotel also boasts a large private parking lot with plenty of EV charging stations, which was extremely convenient for our road trip.

Having stayed at this older hotel multiple times over the past two years, I was prepared for its facilities. Its excellent location and decent soundproofing (a common feature in older buildings) have always been its main draw, despite a slight price increase from last year. However, this stay was truly disappointing. The only window in the room that could be opened had significant gaps, and most of its weatherstripping was damaged or missing. Below, on Baita Road, a construction site has been active for over a year, causing loud noise all day, only stopping around 9 or 10 PM. Furthermore, the hotel's air conditioning was practically non-existent during the day, leaving me to choose between a hot room or opening the window to unbearable noise. What's more outrageous, a staff member directly opened my door with a key card without knocking or any prior notice. They then simply closed the door and left without a word or apology. I will definitely not be choosing this hotel again.
