"Service Residence, for seniors which offers rooms per night. In reality, these are apartments with a very nice terrace. Very comfortable with good bedding (140 bed however). Pleasant staff at reception and calm assured. In addition there are shutters, so we are assured not to be disturbed by the early morning light. Breakfast a little basic for the price"

"The hotel is located at the outskirts of the city, in the bottom of a large park, which allows a secure tranquility and has a large parking space to leave its vehicle in the shadow. They are infilled in a long corridor. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel was very busy and was very comfortable and was very comfortable. Breakfast in self-service (I prefer this term less valuable than "buffet") moderate price of the room but not breakfast where you pay many products that few residents take."

"We’ve stayed here a couple of times but won’t be returning until some improvements are made to the rooms and common areas. I don’t believe this hotel has any air conditioning (certainly not in the rooms we’ve stayed in) and even in May it was pretty uncomfortable. We were given a fan but it didn’t help a great deal. Our room was in pretty poor condition. I would have asked to change if we stayed more than one night. The toilet roll holder was broken, the toilet didn’t close, there was no shelf in the shower to put products on and it smelt of damp. Not acceptable. On a brighter note. We really enjoyed having drinks on the terrace and the meal was very decent. All the staff were excellent. It’s a shame the hotel itself feels unloved as it has the potential to be a really stunning property."

"We had a one-night stay here so that we could visit the military cemeteries at Vauxbuin and Bucy-Le-Long. On street parking is available outside the house. We were greeted by the lady of the house who doesn't speak English but we were able to get some general directions from her using my very limited French, so that we could buy flowers for the cemetery. The B&B is in a residential neighbourhood, so a car is required to get to shops and restaurants. The room was very comfortable with a four-poster bed. Breakfast was served by the man of the house, with all guests seated at the same table (you select your preferred breakfast time the night before). Due to the location, this doesn't strike me as a suitable destination vacation, but is great for a stop-over or a quick visit."

Château de Courcelles - Relais & Châteaux

"Do not be fooled by the beautiful photographs of Château de Courcelles. The stunning exterior, gardens and picturesque setting are clearly the main attraction, because unfortunately that is where the “luxury experience” ends. Behind the postcard-perfect image is one of the most disappointing, poorly managed and shocking hotel experiences we have ever had. We arrived as a group of girls celebrating a birthday, expecting the luxury and exceptional hospitality promised by a Relais & Châteaux property. Instead, the disappointment started before we even stepped inside. As our taxi arrived, a member of staff watched from the reception window as four women struggled to drag five heavy suitcases across gravel. Not one step outside to help. Not one offer of assistance. Nothing. We eventually reached reception ourselves, only for a female colleague to then be asked to carry all our luggage up two flights of stairs. A truly unforgettable welcome… just not for the right reasons. The rooms? A complete contrast to the glamorous photographs. Dark, dated, tired and visibly neglected, with cobwebs and obvious maintenance issues. Luxury? Unfortunately, no. If you are allocated Room 12, refuse it immediately. On our first night, we discovered what can only be described as a spider infestation. Not one harmless little countryside visitor. Not two. Multiple large spiders crawling throughout the room, in corners and even on the bed. Yes, the bed. At 1am, terrified, we called reception for help. The only person who arrived was a member of the kitchen staff, who told us he was not responsible and would contact someone else. Nobody came. No follow-up. No help. The “24-hour reception” advertised by the hotel appears to be purely fictional. We called repeatedly and went downstairs ourselves, only to find complete silence. We had no choice but to abandon our room and squeeze four adults into one bed in our friends’ room because our own room was simply uninhabitable. The response the next morning was honestly unbelievable. No apology. No manager visit. No urgency. Instead, we were told: “It’s the countryside.” Of course, spiders exist in the countryside. However, a room with multiple large spiders crawling on the bed and throughout the room is not acceptable anywhere, especially not at a luxury hotel. Even staff looked shocked when shown the photographs, yet management still attempted to downplay the situation. Then, because apparently the stay had not been memorable enough, both of our rooms lost electricity for hours. We reported it immediately, but there was no urgency to resolve it or move us. The hallways still had power while our rooms remained in darkness. It genuinely felt as though our rooms had simply been forgotten, knowing we would be out during the day. We returned unable to shower properly, prepare for the evening or iron our clothes, causing us to be late for dinner. Once again, Lucas the manager dismissed the issue. No apology. No accounta"
