"I was told this was the best hotel in town, but it was awful. When I arrived, they told me the suite I had paid for in advance was unavailable, and they would put me in a junior suite without a bathtub. I had to make a scene. They gave me a dinner voucher, but it turned out to be the worst meal I had in Madagascar. Check-in took two hours instead of the promised hour and a half. The room was bad, with a view of the slums. The air conditioning barely worked, and the windows wouldn't open."

"Pallisandre Hotel was at the end of our trip and we had seen a bit of Madagascar before that. So in comparison to our stays elsewhere we found Pallisandre hotel staff very friendly, talkative, helpful and polite. The hotel has a heritage character with wooden stairs, floors etc. Pool wasnt well heated but otherwise Massage, steam etc. was super. The restaurant breakfast and meals after our feedback was much improved. The best part about the hotel is that they were flexible and responsive to our suggestions. We were tired of the typical European style breakfast served every single day of the trip and last day we got better breakfast and super Lunch before departure. So thumbs up for that."
