It’s not a star-rated hotel; however, its location is right in the middle of the old city, where taxis can’t reach. You’ll have to carry your luggage. The room is just okay. Due to the location, the price can be considered reasonable. It’s better to book a nearby hotel to avoid hassle and get better service and cleanliness.

Situated in the heart of Baku's Old City (Icherisheher), Old City Inn Hotel provides guests with immediate access to the city's rich history and vibrant culture <3 Landmarks such as the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Maiden Tower, and Fountains Square are just a short walk away. The room was clean with crisp, new bedsheets. The balcony offered stunning views of the Old City. It was a pleasure to see the Flame Towers at sunset and again at night from my balcony. Breakfasts on the 5th floor, surrounded by glass walls, came with an incredible view. Absolutely amazing and spacious! The hotel owner is truly kind and sincere. ✅ Pros Prime location in Baku's Old City Clean rooms with essential amenities Proximity to major attractions and public transport ⚠️ Cons No elevator, which may be inconvenient for some guests No safe in the room

Young male employee made advances on my girlfriend and asked to kiss her once I had checked out of the hotel. Female employee is very rude and can’t be bothered to do any work. Taxis are not allowed to enter the area so you have to haul your suitcase above a flight of stairs to get to the hotel. Once in the hotel, there are no elevators so you will have to carry your own luggage up the flights of stairs. Rooms look nothing like the pictures and the breakfast is 2 eggs and a piece of bread. Highly recommend staying away from this ********* hotel.

Review of Oldcity Inn Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan I recently stayed at the Oldcity Inn Hotel in Baku, located in the heart of the historical Old City. While the location is undeniably charming, right in the center of Baku’s historical landmarks, my experience left much to be desired. Pros: Location: The hotel is situated in the very center of Baku's historical Old City, which offers a unique atmosphere with its ancient architecture and cultural significance. Reception Staff: The staff at the reception were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I liked the girl at the hotel reception, who was very kind with the cat. The hotel had a very cute cat, who came into the hotel in the evening and left in the morning. However, despite their kindness, they were unable to provide much help with guest problems such as transportation and logistics. Cons: Cleanliness: The hotel did not provide daily cleaning services, which was disappointing and below the standards I expect from any accommodation. Accessibility Issues: Check-in/Check-out Stress: My biggest issue was with the overall experience of entering and leaving the Old City area. Police and security guards surround the area with barriers, preventing taxis or any other transportation from entering without paying bribes. Tourists are forced to carry their heavy luggage for 2-3 kilometers, which is incredibly difficult, especially after long flights. After an hour of negotiation and paying a 12 AZN bribe (with no receipt or clear explanation), I was finally allowed to enter the area. Similarly, during checkout, the police fined a taxi driver 100 AZN just for waiting outside the Old City to pick me up. This created an extremely stressful situation that overshadowed the beauty of the location. Corruption and Mismanagement: The corruption among local police and security guards was shocking and disappointing. Tourists are regularly stopped and extorted for bribes, making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. There were no clear guidelines on how tourists are supposed to manage transportation in and out of the Old City, and no support from the hotel or authorities on this matter. Conclusion: While the Old City is undeniably a historical gem, I cannot recommend staying at the Oldcity Inn Hotel or any other accommodation within this area due to the severe accessibility challenges, the corrupt practices of local authorities, and the overall stress it creates for tourists. If you plan to visit Baku, I suggest staying outside the Old City and visiting the area during the day to enjoy its history without dealing with these logistical nightmares.

The hotel is located in Baku old city, not far from Maiden tower and metro station. If they need a cheap place to stay, I’d totally recommend this one. The only downside about the hotel is all the sockets in the room are very loose, kinda annoying and hard to charge electronic devices.

The hotel is located in the old city and I walked to all the excursions in a couple of minutes, because Old City Inn is a couple of minutes from the gates of the old city, and usually there meet tourists with excursion groups. The hotel is cozy with only 15 rooms, if it is important for you, then there is no elevator - there is a spiral staircase, it is for the best, Baku has very tasty baklava))) Breakfast on the 5th floor - with windows overlooking the old city and the Caspian Sea. Breakfast is: omelet or fried eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, sausage, different types of cheese, bread and butter + tea or coffee. But if you do not want to have breakfast at the hotel - there are many places around that offer breakfast for every taste. I had a room with a large bed, which was cleaned when I left the key at the reception and asked to clean it, they do not enter the room without asking! And so we needed at different times: an iron, a plate, a corkscrew - they brought it. In the shower there is soap, shampoo, shower gel, there are disposable slippers. The reception is staffed by wonderful hospitable people, Yagiana is the soul of the hotel, she is caring, emotional, will always answer a million questions, will advise where to go to the sea, where the most delicious baklava is, as if she came to visit her, she speaks Russian wonderfully. And Ferzali is a smiling and talkative guy who lifts your spirits (with him in the local language or in English). In my room, the sockets were not very conveniently located and the walls are thin, the audibility is excellent. But otherwise - I liked it. The location is the best you can imagine (it is located in the oldest city and not far from the metro and the embankment, the Carpet Museum is 15-20 minutes on foot). If you have a lot of luggage, it will be difficult to drag it along the cobbled pavement of the old city up the hill. In the photo, the views during breakfast. I fell in love with Baku, which I wish for you too )

This is the best place in the Old Town! You can't imagine what kind of attic there is on the roof! We sat there every evening and enjoyed the view of the whole city! You can't even find this in expensive hotels! Yes, the hotel is a little tired, but the homely atmosphere, responsiveness, and comfort completely make up for the old repairs and a couple of holes in the bed linen. Cleaning upon request, for this you just need to leave the keys. Breakfast is prepared personally for you: scrambled eggs, sausage, salted cheese and for spreading, vegetables - I love breakfast so much, so for me it was perfect, oh yes, I forgot about the delicious butter and bread (I don't eat bread, but here I ate 4 pieces every day) And the best person in the hotel is the administrator Yagiana ❤️ we loved her with all our hearts) she will always help and advise) If you want comfort, the best view, to feel at home - this is the place! And yes, check-in is 24/7, and don't forget to download a map or look up directions, because taxis don't go into the old city and you literally have to walk 4 minutes

The hotel has a good location and that's all the pluses, maybe other rooms are in better condition, but we were unlucky (room #5), if we consider it in relation to our room, the hotel absolutely does not correspond to the price-quality. The walls are cracked, pieces are falling off, dust on the ceiling that hangs right above the beds, the wall adjacent to the bathroom causes complete horror, holes in the duvet cover and pillowcases, the bathroom smells of strong dampness and sewage from the drain.

It is in the old town, the location is good, very close to the lion statue. The hygiene is average, the bedding is not very clean, maybe it has been used for a long time. The restaurant has a sea view and a city view, and the breakfast is average.

The location is great, right in the old town. I didn't expect there was breakfast. Considering the price and location, don't have any requirements for the room conditions, haha

It's a great location. The building has an old city feel to it and it was very comfortable. Watching the sunrise from the cafeteria on the rooftop while having breakfast was a wonderful memory.
