"This hotel is located right inside the North Gate of the Ancient City, making its location absolutely fantastic. Street parking is also very convenient. You can easily walk to the attractions within the Ancient City or use the bicycles provided by the hotel. The rooms are new, tastefully decorated, and smart, which feels wonderful. The disposable towels, bath towels, toothpaste, and toothbrushes provided are all of high quality. Breakfast is a set meal per person, light yet nutritionally balanced. And the owner's service is simply outstanding. On our last day, we left early and told them not to prepare breakfast, but they thoughtfully packed some snacks for us, worrying we might get hungry on the road. Highly recommended! If I get a chance to visit Datong again, I'll definitely consider staying here."

"The stay was excellent.
First, the location is unbeatable. It's within walking distance of attractions such as Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Prince Dai's Mansion, Nine-Dragon Wall, and Datong Ancient City Wall. Popular restaurants like Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Xijindao, and Beiwei Family Banquet are all within a 5-minute walk.
Second, the facilities are brand new. The hotel, newly opened in April 2026, is spotless and meticulously designed. There's a coffee machine at the entrance, freshly brewed herbal tea, paper cups for takeout, plenty of bottled water in the room, a mini-fridge, and a delivery robot.
Finally, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Even before arriving, there were warm reminders, and the staff were very helpful, recommending restaurants and accepting takeout orders, making me feel right at home.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly picked us up at the railway station and helped us arrange a car rental to visit Xuankong Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, and the Yungang Grottoes.
The breakfast was also delicious and a great way to start the day.
Their hospitality and assistance made our trip much easier and more enjoyable.

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGuest UserThanks to Nanshe, our trip to Datong was incredibly enjoyable and pleasant, offering a sense of security just like home. The guesthouse is located inside the ancient Datong city wall, which is an excellent location, making it very convenient to visit famous attractions and long-standing restaurants, all within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-arranged—small yet cozy. We even had foreign guests in the room opposite ours 😉. The two housekeeper sisters provided attentive and responsive service, always ready to offer advice. On our first day, they recommended the nearby Dongfang Xiaomian restaurant, a local favorite for sliced noodles; you can't go wrong with anything you order there! 😁 On our second day in Datong, we experienced a sandstorm, a rare experience for someone from the coast. We stayed at Nanshe for three days, and because of Nanshe, I fell in love with Datong.

GGuest UserFacilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly.
Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable.
Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed.
Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant.

GGuest UserI've wanted to stay here for a long time, and this family trip finally made that dream come true. The check-in experience was excellent, and the facilities showed incredible attention to detail. The complimentary toiletries pack even included electric toothbrushes and Gillette razors, and all the snacks provided were from Sam's Club. Breakfast was exceptional – an à la carte style where they'd prepare whatever you ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, and there were plenty of choices. Enjoying delicious pastries in the courtyard under the sun was a truly wonderful experience!
In the evening, friends came over, and we sat on the courtyard sofa, chatted, drank tea, and watched the clouds in the night sky. We even caught a drone show from Dai Wang Mansion, which was truly delightful! We also toured the owner's private museum and wine cellar. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a courtyard built with 200 million yuan; the main gate in the middle is 200 years old. Every detail exudes taste and grandeur!
The service was excellent too. Although there weren't many staff members, they were very responsive. When my shoes got wet in the heavy rain, they even brought a hairdryer to dry them for me – I was truly grateful! In short, the value for money at this price is unbeatable! Five-star recommendation! 👍👍👍👍👍
Overall, a fantastic stay, but I do have a few suggestions to offer:
1. Only the door could be opened for ventilation in the room; the windows didn't open. It would be great if there was a way to allow for cross-ventilation.
2. The hotel doesn't provide parking vouchers. While overnight parking was only 20 yuan, offering vouchers would enhance the guest experience.
3. Perhaps due to concerns about some guests occupying a room with too many people, I was repeatedly asked during check-in how many individuals were staying in our room, which I found a bit off-putting.

GGuest UserI am very satisfield with the service provided by the staff. The staff are warm and friendly. As for service, they help me to book DIDI and resolve transportation issue. Also recommend tourist sites and the route to take and explore as well as where to eat.
I was also surprise by the staff who personally sent me to the High Speed Train Station due to miscommunication This show how committed the hotel management is to their guest.
As for the room, it is clean and tidy. The bed is very comfortable. The toilet bowl comes with ultra voilet light and the daily upkeeping of my room is very satisfied.
The hotel is very generous with free bottled water, fruits, coffee anf tea and supper to their guests.
I would come back to this hotel to stay in my next trip and recommend this hotel to my friends.
I will give 5/5 stars rating to this hotel.

From the airport pickup and morning meals to the comfortable accommodation and car rentals, the hotel truly embodied the warmth and sense of belonging captured by the phrase 'Datong under heaven, one harmonious family.' The owner personally picked me up, and she was wonderful—elegant, cheerful, and incredibly welcoming. The room she arranged was clean, tidy, bright, and peaceful, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast options were perfect for a Cantonese palate, and they even had coffee available, which was a thoughtful touch.

GGuest UserI usually never leave a review, but I wanted to share that the people whom work here are very kind! I arrived in the middle of the night and they suggested to pick me up from the trainstation.
Upon arrival I received several free items (toothbrush, flipflops, sleeping mask etc). There are clean towels that you can use, soap/shampoo is also present. The room was very clean and the public area is very big. I was travelling alone but I saw that there were many games and options to watch tv etc.
When asking for help for which bus to take, they offered to being me to the nearest busstation by car.
Overall, a very good experience.

The property offers private parking, which is very convenient, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the heart of the ancient city—an ideal location for exploring Datong. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, blending modern style with artistic touches that reflect the owner’s care and refined taste.
Each morning, we were treated to a beautifully prepared breakfast, along with complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. It’s those small, thoughtful details that really elevate the experience.
In short, Yunqi Xiangshe is a perfect combination of comfort, style, and heartfelt hospitality. I would gladly recommend it to all my friends and look forward to returning again in the future
