Hotel location is excellent, in the ancient city, the center of Southeast, next to the famous sea buckthorn ice cream and Buddha Xiaoban store, Guandi Temple is less than 10 minutes walk, Shanhua Temple is 6 minutes by taxi, Huayan Temple is 8 minutes by taxi, the hotel is diagonally opposite the highest food in Southeast Yuanli ”Zhang Zhang Vegetables”, At night, the red lanterns of the trees in the alley are very comfortable and relaxed.
The hotel service focuses on a warm heart. Breakfast has millet ginseng, knife noodles, grilled yellow croaker, small ribs, hand-teared chicken, freshly squeezed juices, coffee milk hot soy milk, the dishes are exquisite and full of sincerity, and the main thing is that you can't be hungry. At night, swinging in the yard, the handsome male waiter passed by and saw, smiling and coming: cold outside at night, if you feel cold, I will bring you a cup of hot water! Bad, what's going on, the heart of the middle-aged woman~ Husband is not so good 🥹 In the evening, another handsome male waiter with big eyes knocked on the door politely: Hello, give you today's evening soup, just boiled a little hot, children pay attention not to be burned. A pot of food magician + two cute small bowls came in, but I have eaten a lot during the day, and I return to the room in the afternoon with a plate full of nuts, small snacks and plum juice? I feel deeply that the hotel is afraid that I am hungry 😂 and I must be fed.
Facilities: simple, beautiful and practical. The night view of the ancient city on the second floor is beautiful. The shampoo is my own brand for home use and the familiar taste. In particular, I have to say that the bathrobe feels different from other hotel towels, and it is super comfortable to wear (children like it very much). Send a pack of steam eye masks, as well as bath balls, masks, bath towels, disposable underwear towels and other series, mouthwash, the first day of useless and the second day still sent... silent dedication to glowing fever.
On the last day, I walked up to the car and sent a big bag (surprise!) The bag was full of specialties. 😭 The child said that it was too relaxing and comfortable and wanted to come later.
Busy people come to be taken care of and healed!

LLaura 劳拉We absolutely loved staying here! It was such a hidden gem and so so nice. A beautiful courtyard to sit and have morning coffee, great styled room, cozy and warm. The hosts were amazing and made homemade breakfast every morning, whatever we wanted to eat. It was truly an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable, affordable, authentic experience in Datong.

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGuest UserI've wanted to stay here for a long time, and this family trip finally made that dream come true. The check-in experience was excellent, and the facilities showed incredible attention to detail. The complimentary toiletries pack even included electric toothbrushes and Gillette razors, and all the snacks provided were from Sam's Club. Breakfast was exceptional – an à la carte style where they'd prepare whatever you ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, and there were plenty of choices. Enjoying delicious pastries in the courtyard under the sun was a truly wonderful experience!
In the evening, friends came over, and we sat on the courtyard sofa, chatted, drank tea, and watched the clouds in the night sky. We even caught a drone show from Dai Wang Mansion, which was truly delightful! We also toured the owner's private museum and wine cellar. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a courtyard built with 200 million yuan; the main gate in the middle is 200 years old. Every detail exudes taste and grandeur!
The service was excellent too. Although there weren't many staff members, they were very responsive. When my shoes got wet in the heavy rain, they even brought a hairdryer to dry them for me – I was truly grateful! In short, the value for money at this price is unbeatable! Five-star recommendation! 👍👍👍👍👍
Overall, a fantastic stay, but I do have a few suggestions to offer:
1. Only the door could be opened for ventilation in the room; the windows didn't open. It would be great if there was a way to allow for cross-ventilation.
2. The hotel doesn't provide parking vouchers. While overnight parking was only 20 yuan, offering vouchers would enhance the guest experience.
3. Perhaps due to concerns about some guests occupying a room with too many people, I was repeatedly asked during check-in how many individuals were staying in our room, which I found a bit off-putting.

GGuest UserI discovered a treasure of a B&B hotel that opened this month~~ Pingchengfu is very close to various attractions. In two days, I went to Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Datong Museum, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, Jingtu Temple, and watched the sunset from the city wall, the intangible cultural heritage of iron flower, etc. Datong city construction is great! Overall, the accommodation experience was full, and I also ate at Kaige Restaurant and Longjuxiang recommended by locals. The overall travel experience was great! Thank you for the service of the B&B brothers and sisters, which is very good. The environment is quiet in the bustling city, and the decoration is antique. If I have the opportunity to come to Datong again next time, I will continue to book! Looking forward to seeing you next time

GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

The small courtyard has good privacy and is very quiet. It is highly recommended to live here if you are traveling with children or elders! The address is very convenient, near Wudingmen, and you can walk to the surrounding area. When I left, the store gave me a bag of their own millet. The service was really detailed. GGuest UserThe room lighting is too dark, and you have to rely on the TV to increase the light source. It is already 11:30 in the evening. The people who drink in the lobby outside are still talking and singing and listening to music. The room is relatively humid, and people who don't sleep well are not recommended to live. The only light source for the three small lights! Except for the bathroom with a round mirror.
