Red Lion Hotel ★★★
"Clean, quiet...👌 perfect"
Village Hotel Basingstoke ★★★★
"Stayed here plenty of times , amazing reception staff, very welcoming . Air con is amazing in this weather, very comfortable room. Fresh towels and tea coffee supplied, love the fact you get two different shower heads to use"
The White Hart, Overton ★★★★
"Very good hotel, solemnly recommend to everyone: 1. The hotel has a long history, 600 years old, classical British style, and the interior of the room is 600 years ago. Feeling the good place in the English countryside. 2. Great location, Overton city center, very convenient to St Mary’ Church. This year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of famous author Jane Austin. The British government has specially produced two hiking road maps related to Overton and Jane Austen. The hotel and church can be taken for free, which is very meaningful. Overton is also beautifully located in the countryside. One of the routes is to Steveton, Jane's birthplace. 3. Hotel service is good, free drinks, in addition to the tea bar in the room, many English tea and coffee, as well as fresh milk, soy milk, oat milk, almond milk, free daily. Guests can also ask the hotel for toiletries such as toothbrushes. Drinking water can be free. There are speakers in the room, watching TV and movies is good. 5. The bed is particularly comfortable. The bathroom is also very clean and convenient. Bathing supplies are natural flower fragrance ingredients. 6. There are often discounts in house prices, and the price is about 500 when it is cheap, and the price is very high."
Travelodge Hotel - Basingstoke ★★★
"We found the staff to be excellent, very helpful and accommodating. We travelled from Norfolk and stopped halfway in Basingstoke for a wedding in Cornwall the following day. Due to the weather being so hot I had the wedding cake to keep cool and the staff called Chris helped us keep the cake cool. He provided an extra fan which did the trick!"
Apollo Hotel ★★★★
"Where do I start , when I arrived to the hotel I was slightly earlier by 30 minutes so I asked if we could sit on the bar area and have some food and a drink to be told that I can’t have any food as there is only 1 chef and there’s a wedding his has to cater for. So we went off site for food. On returning (40 minutes after check in) we were told that we couldn’t check in yet as our room still wasn’t ready. After 1 hour we were given our keys to go to our room which they changed from the original room as that one still wasn’t ready. In the evening we went down for a couple of drinks in the bar area and there were a lot of children with their families who were running and jumping around on the sofas we were sat on and nobody asked the children to stop or asked their parents to stop them. We took ourselves back to our room. At 4.10am we were woken to what sounded like someone trying to get into our room. Around 10 minutes later the door opened and the light came on and a receptionist was bringing 2 guests into the room for check in as they thought they key hadn’t worked. Once asked by my husband what on earth is going on the receptionist said downstairs on the booking system this room says it’s free which clearly it wasn’t and they had forgotten to move our details over from the original room that wasn’t ready. We then stayed awake as we couldn’t get back to sleep and were shocked about what had happened. I then took myself down to the pool at 8am to be told I couldn’t go in today as they had run out of towels!! Ridiculous! We then went for breakfast before leaving to be told we couldn’t have the breakfast and that we hadn’t pre paid. This then went through a few staff for them to realise yet again they hadn’t updated our stay on their system and our original room number had breakfast but this room didn’t as they still hadn’t put us as being in that room!! When having to breakfast it was not even hot and wasn’t very nice at all. Overall it was the worst hotel stay we have ever had! I will be contacting head office!!"
Audleys Wood Hotel, Basingstoke ★★★★
Wheatsheaf by Chef & Brewer Collection ★★★
"Good location close to M3/A303. Friendly and polite reception staff. Room was very clean with all expected amenities. BUT, I would not stay here again as the rooms are very close together so I was plagued by noise all night, even after midnight. Doors banging, a baby crying in the room next door. These noises were probably unavoidable, but my room backed into the pub courtyard and there were people talking at the tables outside, again, this was after midnight - why?? I wouldn’t have expected any pub noise at all after 11. I was travelling for work and had an early start so this was a poor stay for me."
Premier Inn Basingstoke Town Centre ★★★
"The hotel parking lot has very few spaces; if you arrive late at night, there are no parking spaces available. The hotel facilities are old, and the internet signal is poor."
Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"I had an awesome stay at the Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa the pool was so beautiful and hot in the children's pool area. The only negative comment I would make is that the adults cannot use the steam room and sauna due to having children with you they are not allowed in the adult pool area. Apart from that a lovely hotel, rooms are spacious and breakfast is tasty and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel to any one."
