InterContinental DANANG SUN PENINSULA RESORT by IHG

9.5/10
Amazing

Pros: 1. The hotel's natural environment is excellent, offering sightings of incredibly rare protected animals. They also provide a free wildlife tour, which I highly recommend. It's a fantastic experience to simply walk around the hotel and spot monkeys foraging. 2. The service is outstanding. The hotel staff are attentive and very considerate of guests. The welcome drink was delicious. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and I received a room upgrade with a great view and a spacious layout. 3. The slippers were very comfortable. The breakfast tableware was exquisite. Cons for me: 1. The claim of being the 'most beautiful Intercontinental' is an exaggeration. Some areas even felt [as pictured], though I suppose one could call it 'unique.' Personally, I found it gaudy. 2. I strongly recommend including executive lounge access. If you arrive early, since there's no air conditioning in the public areas, the only cool indoor space to relax is the executive lounge. Otherwise, you're stuck waiting in the hotel lobby, and elderly guests and children need to be careful to avoid heatstroke. 3. The breakfast was delicious, and the fruit quality was high. However, it's baffling why the other restaurants were so bad. After reading reviews that even the Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant wasn't great, I booked a package that included dinner. I paid extra to change the dishes, but they were still terrible. It was arguably the worst meal I had in Vietnam. 4. Although the hotel was uncrowded and had a good environment, the beach quality was very average, and the loungers by the sea started closing down every day at 6 PM. In summary, I think this Intercontinental is worth staying at, but don't go in with exceptionally high expectations.

To be honest, some highs and lows here. The service here is more like a 3-star hotel, definitely not a 4-star. I remembered the first two days I was presented with this nice buffet with good food choices , then for another 3 or 4 days, the buffet stopped running and they switched to this really underwhelming a la carte menu that looked more befitting into a 2-star backpacker or student hostel. Then I found out the buffet was only set up because of a number of Chinese guests staying there. When they left, the buffet went (obviously me and the other 15 guests who were staying there, didn't deserve it??) The last two days they set it up again, and surprise, a large number of Russian guests had just checked in. So it turns that only if you are Chinese or Russian you get the attentions here? I know what I paid wasn't cheap, smacks of discrimination. Then on those days the service turned sloppy, I came early for breakfast, I think this is the first place I have been, where they penalise you if you come to eat early. 30 mins after opening and some trays were cold, I had to use the toaster to heat it up. The housekeeping was a bit strange here. They didn't replace the bed sheets, they simply tucked them in (I know this anecdotically, for a fact) One of the coffee cups replaced was soiled and stained, and in one occasion, they had removed one of the bar items without telling me (paving the way to maybe ask me to pay for it later without me taking it, this is not a good practice) The coffee bar was very hit and miss. Some of the pastry pieces on display were some of the most ghastly I've ever seen, they looked raw, I had to ask them if they had been baked, they said yes (they were unglazed) On the second day, they served me this wishy washy mish mash of crushed ice with some mango on top, didn't taste of anything, they wanted 40000 d for that, how is that even on the menu? After that, I didn't set foot in there again. The hotel was not even at 20% capacity, and they had the brilliant idea of putting people directly next to me and above upstairs..really? The pikey backpackers would be thumping on the floor a lot of the time, very poor isolation. Upon leaving, I had this Be taxi driver (white car, 125.xx plate) He parked across the road, I was carrying my suitcases, I told him to turn around. He got in his taxi, drove off, and left me STRANDED, this was a booking to the airport, what kind of subhuman does that??? My experience with the Vietnamese is not great, but the staff here were kind and helpful, and assisted me greatly. Location not really great, a bit far from everything, but the place was very clean. So there are some positives, but this is in no way a 4 star for me, especially when subject to profiling and priviledges are removed, depending on where you come from, and what colour your skin is.

If you are looking for a cozy boutique-style hotel close to Hoi An, this is the perfect place. The hotel has a warm and relaxing atmosphere, the breakfast is excellent, and the beach, although not very large, is clean and well maintained. We always managed to find available sunbeds. The entire staff—at reception, housekeeping, and the restaurant—were extremely helpful, friendly, and always smiling. We divided our 10-day holiday between two hotels. We chose Boutique Hoi An Resort because it is closer to Hoi An. At first, we were slightly hesitant because it is a four-star hotel and this was our first visit to Vietnam, but its awards and excellent reviews gave us confidence. It turned out to be a wonderful choice, especially compared with the second hotel we stayed at, which was a large and crowded five-star resort. Thank you to the entire team at Boutique Hoi An Resort. Keep doing what you are doing—you are doing it very well!

Facilities: The facilities are a bit old. Many solid wood doors have warped over time, rubbing against the solid wood floors, but this also fits the villa style. A brand new villa just doesn't quite feel like a villa. Environment: The environment is great and quiet, especially after staying in villas near My Khe Beach for a few nights. The quiet and harmonious feeling is wonderful. It's less than 100 meters from the beach, and enjoying dinner at the hotel, feeling the sea breeze, and admiring the My Khe night view is very pleasant. The hotel is close to various attractions on Son Tra Peninsula, making it suitable for a relaxing beach vacation. However, it's best to sort out transportation in advance. It was a pity we couldn't rent an electric scooter this time, so we didn't complete the island bike tour, only doing less than half a loop.

We booked a four-bedroom sea view room, which can accommodate up to 9 people. Do not give extra passports. The beds are all very large, about 2 meters wide. The hotel environment is beyond words, absolutely beautiful, and the breakfast was very rich, including eggs Benedict. However, the room decor is a bit dated, especially the footboard of the bed, which has an anti-human design. Four of us bumped our feet on it, so be very careful.

Excellent location. New hotel. Large rooms with stunning sea views. You can sunbathe on your own balcony. Fantastic breakfasts with a wide variety to suit all tastes. The beach is just a 7-minute walk away, or you can take a shuttle bus that arrives almost immediately when someone is at the waiting area. The hotel itself is very themed and atmospheric. There's a clean rooftop pool. It has its own indoor water park, as well as a large outdoor water park (though guests from all over the city come there). There's no need to leave the hotel; everything is provided on-site. We would gladly return again! Special thanks to the hotel for the lovely birthday compliments 🤗

We stayed as a family with our 7-year-old child. What's good: 1) The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, I'd say. 2) Clean beach, long coastline, few people in the sea. 3) Well-maintained grounds; you can tell they take care of it. 4) Delicious food, varied breakfast, 3 restaurants with something for every taste. 5) The rooms are spacious, you can tell they're not new, but everything is clean, and housekeeping is constant. We had a sea-view room on the second floor, although the sea was visible through the pool, which could be seen as a minor drawback. 6) Large area, with entertainment options (tennis, paddle, mini-golf, billiards, a farm, and a game room) and quite large swimming pools. 7) Excellent spa, deserving a separate 5-star rating. The staff is friendly. The masseuse Mina is simply superb! Now for the downsides: 1) Kids' club: When booking, we read many reviews saying it was fantastic. Well, those people don't know what a good kids' club is. Not only is it only free for 2 hours (photo attached), but it's more like a childcare room. There's only one activity per day for children, so don't count on it. 2) 'Napkin' booking (photo attached). There's always a chance your reservation might be missing. 3) SERVICE. This deserves a separate negative! It feels like you're not welcome anywhere and nobody is waiting for you at all. The Vive Oceane restaurant, with its administrator Cristine Vu, deserves a special mention – she acted as if everyone owed her something and she hated everyone around her. There are paid services for sun loungers, but it's as if they don't exist; you can wait an hour for coffee, and the bill takes about an hour too. 4) Dirty pool, lots of people in the pool, and broken tiles in it. Our child even cut their foot. The pool really needs renovation. 5) Lack of infrastructure near the hotel (like a 7/11 in Thailand, for example).

We booked a family room for a week! We arrived at 6 AM, and early check-in cost extra. I don't remember the exact amount, but it was around 1800₽. I consider this a drawback ➖, especially since we moved to another hotel a week later that offered immediate check-in at no additional cost. The hotel itself is a bit old. The room walls were dirty, but surprisingly, there was no musty smell; instead, the room had a pleasant, clean and fresh scent. The toilet and shower were clean, and the water didn't flood the entire bathroom thanks to a small curb. The towels were clean. The beds were comfortable, and although the bed linen was old, it was clean. The air conditioning worked well. There were windows in both the room and the bathroom, which was great for drying clothes quickly. The breakfasts were modest but offered a good selection. There was enough to eat, and the pancakes were delicious. There were a lot of Indian guests, a significant number. Few Europeans, but our floor seemed to have more European guests. Occasionally, the Wi-Fi would cut out. If you need to work, keep this in mind. It was rare, but it did happen. The view from the window was magnificent, and even better from the toilet! The beach was a 15-minute walk away!

My stay at the Sandy Beach Resort in Đà Nẵng was absolutely wonderful. The room was not only big but also spotlessly clean, and it offered the best view of the sunrise I’ve ever seen—waking up to that every morning was pure magic. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety to start the day right. The location is great too: it only takes about 15 minutes to reach the core beach, where you can enjoy jetskiing, parasailing, and other fun water activities. Whether you’re traveling as a couple or with family, this resort is a fantastic choice. I will definitely revisit!

Spacious and beautiful room with large windows, letting in lots of light. The room also has a bathtub. The staff are pleasant and friendly, and there's a large pool on the rooftop. On the first floor, there's a gym with exercise equipment and mirrors. The second floor features a spa and sauna. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the sea and boasts a good location with shops and cafes nearby.
