"A difficult review to make because there are positives and negatives which do not relate to one another. The hotel was scrupulously clean, well decorated and tidy but somehow it just seemed to “ miss it”. Space had been maximised to allow for a good number of guests with the net result that the rooms were small and compact. Our bathroom has smallish shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet leaving enough space for one person. The breakfast was a croissant, a piece of bread with ham and cheese, yoghurts and cereals. We had a takeaway pizza one evening which we ate in the garden area. We bought a bottle of wine from reception and glasses were provided. It was fine but somehow, just somehow, it missed the mark but I don’t know why."

"Don't stay here, seriously. The room was tiny, and the window was ridiculously small. I even found a hair on the bathroom wall while showering! I didn't bother complaining because my French isn't good enough to argue. I specifically told the front desk that I was traveling with a child and wanted a room closer to the elevator, not at the very end of the hallway. But guess what? They still gave me the very last room at the end of the corridor! Are they really that bad at understanding English, or was it intentional discrimination? For this price, this hotel is absolutely not worth it!"

"It's a small Chambre D'Hote (Bed-n-Breakfast) very close to the Beaune ring-road, so about 5-10 mins' walk from the centre. It's super clean, completely modernized only in 2024. The rooms are wonderful and the bathrooms are excellent. Great beds/bedding/decor in the bedrooms. Veronique provides an amazing breakfast each day. It's a great place to feel 'at home' whilst away. We drove from Paris, but it's only 10 minutes from the Beaune train station so both arrival methods work well. We will return."

"This is my fourth stay in Beaune and fourth visit to this hotel. I have always loved this place. I write a new review now because it is under new ownership now. It used to be run by the Fatien family. Now Estelle has bought it and the name is both “Chez les Fatien” but also “Clos de saint-marguerite” I was nervous because I thought maybe the hotel would change in a bad way, from its small hotel charm. But do not worry. It is as charming and her upgrades are only making it better. They now have 5 rooms, and all rooms have AC (which it did not have before!). Given the rising temperatures everywhere, having AC is good especially in some of the higher rooms. The lines are beautiful, the Nuxe items in each room are lovely French treat to your skin, and the breakfast remains outstanding. Estelle and her staff are wonderful. If you need too much attention, then this is not the place for you. It isn’t a hotel where there is someone there every second. As it has just 5 rooms, they are there for check in and check out, and breakfast, of course. But you have privacy most of the time which I really appreciate. The gorgeous courtyard has lovely bistro tables and we had bread and cheese there with wine, many evenings. They treat you like family. There is a honor bar in the dining room so you can take wine that you like and just write your name down so it will be on your bill when you leave. We got soaked in the rain one day biking and our clothes and shoes were absolutely dripping. They offered to throw our stuff in the dryer. That would not happen in big hotels! Also they helped us get our luggage to the train which was so kind. Beaune is my happy place, and in large part it is due to this sweet, romantic hotel. Estelle will continue to make it spectacular with her touch!"
