"We stayed at Hacienda Tropical Guest House for 5 nights, and don't usually write reviews, but we wanted to this time, as the stay made our first trip to Belize so pleasurable. I heard someone say that the first place you stay in a new country can affect the rest of your experience there, and if that's the case, then make Hacienda your first place to stay - the location is perfect for getting to some of the really beautiful parts of Belize (just drive down the Hummingbird Highway, so much to see!). But more than that, Martha, Joe and Chris are so hospitable, and really go out of their way to make you feel at home, and give all the advice you need for anything you want to do there. You'll mainly deal with Chris, he's there every day, super friendly guy, I imagine all the reviews will say how great he was, as we saw during our time there how he looked out for everyone who stayed with the same level of care and attention he gave us. The room was super clean and comfortable - every room has its own kitchenette where you can cook for yourself, the shower was excellent, nice double bed, and spacious. We ended up staying in the local area for food and day to day things - there's an ATM and a great bakery at the end of the road, supermarket across the street, and fantastic local food cafes and restaurants serving Belizean cuisine and more (apparently there's a really good Chinese restaurant nearby as well, worth a look). We went to Betty's, Chris's recommendation, they do different specials every day alongside a set menu. The first night we arrived late, so ate at the cevicheria just up the road, Chef K - shout out to the chef, Elsa - great food! All in all, couldn't recommend the place more - we shall definitely be back! Alan and Ezgi xxx"

"We booked a 1 night stay at Kiki Witz for it's location near Belmopan, central to the activities we had planned. Our party was 2 couples with 2 separate cottages reserved. The property management called me via What's App the morning of our stay to inquire about our arrival time. On arrival, the property was very quiet. We learned we would be the only guests staying that evening, a Saturday night in high season. We originally booked 2 units that were going to be a long way apart from each other. The management offered us a 2 bedroom unit instead, but upon looking at the unit, there were no ceilings in the bedrooms (walls, but open above). Due to snoring, we decided to take 2 separate units instead, and they upgraded one couple to the nicer unit and the units were side by side. Management inquired about us having dinner or breakfast on property, so that they could plan. Being the only guests, they were willing to accommodate our time preferences, etc. However, due to the limited menu available, we chose to dine out. (This is reasonable with low occupancy.) The property is right off of the highway but feels quiet on site. The rooms were comfortable and clean but a bit dated. Lighting was somewhat dim in the rooms and bathroom - my husband had difficulty shaving (he's in his 40's, so not too old). The pool area was very nice and the pool appeared clean. In walking the property, it was easy to see the vision and maybe the past glory of the property as a eco-spa or something. We did ask if we could use the pool later than stated hours (9pm closure) in the evening, since we were the only guests - no one to disturb. We were told yes. However, when we returned after dinner at 7:30pm, the lights in the pool area were all off. Again, I understand as we were the only guests that staff were leaving and finishing up things like turning off lights, but it did hamper our ability to enjoy the property. Overall, the property served us well for what we were looking for. I would stay again, especially as the management was so accommodating and kind."

"I stayed at GM Suites and had a lovely room. It was clean and spacious and the family was kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to my room at a time convenient to me. The kitchenette had exactly what I needed - a coffeemaker, coffee, sugar, dishes and towels. A microwave and refrigerator were also in the room. It was a lovely stay."
