Though the farm feels remote, it is only minutes away from many wineries and Keuka Lake. The Guest Cottage offers a cozy space to sit back and enjoy the peaceful quiet. You can even add horseback riding to your stay at Mountain Rose!The spaceMountain Rose Farm’s Guest Cottage is perfect for two on a peaceful getaway but if you are looking to vacation with friends/family, our larger Loft Studio beside the cottage is also available for rent (subject to availability) and sleeps two as well.We are located by Mount Washington in a peaceful valley down a dirt country road. The cottage is set back from the road to give you a quiet and private stay bordered by a babbling stream. We offer comfortable accommodations in our fully furnished Guest Cottage, including a kitchen with a glass stovetop, microwave, mini refrigerator/freezer, toaster, coffee maker, cookware, dining set, various spices, etc. Cottage is furnished with a four-poster bed handcrafted from beams out of an old tobacco barn, dining table and chairs, couch, flat-screen TV with Roku, and dresser. A washer and dryer are available for your use located in the bottom of the building (Guest Loft Studio) right beside the cottage. Outdoor space includes a front porch with seating, a stone patio with umbrella table, propane grill, and fire pit. We provide a bundle of firewood for an evening campfire on the stone patio. If needed, more firewood is available on site for $5/bundle.Enjoy the quiet and relaxing view from the porch and you may even catch sight of the whitetail deer, hawks, wild turkey, and occasional fox who call Mountain Rose their home too. The farm is a dark skies location with incredible stargazing on clear nights as the Milky Way is right overhead!Guest accessEverything inside the Guest Cottage is for your personal use and you are free to use and enjoy all items and amenities within during your stay. The downstairs garage/workshop of the Loft Studio (building to the immediate left of the cottage) is our personal storage space and any items in there are not to be used unless permission is granted. The washer and dryer are located in this downstairs space and you have access to them. Please note that this washer and dryer is shared with the Loft Studio guests as well. The front porch and stone patio of the Cottage is for your private use, as well as the grill and picnic table. The yard, creek, fish pond, trails are all available for your enjoyment but could be shared with Loft Studio guests. The Loft Studio front porch, grill, and picnic table are for Loft Studio guests only. You are welcome to visit the horses along the fence lines but no one is permitted to enter the pastures or stalls unless one of the staff is present and permission has been granted.Other things to note*WiFi and TV steaming are available*We are a farm and love our critters, but here, all our farm animals belong outside. A 12x12 stall with bedding and stud-style, personal paddock turnout is available for $30/horse/night, and you are responsible for your stall(s) cleanup. The outdoor cooking area is equipped with a pellet grill and a gas fired griddle. To add to your outdoor experience, there are cooking grates that fit over the outdoor fire-pit for to enhance your cabin experience. The downstairs bedroom has a set of twin bunkbeds and an additional twin bed. The upstairs bedroom has two queen beds. Welcome to The Mission House. Our home is located on a quiet country road in the Finger Lakes Area of Western NY. We are located about 10-15 minutes south of Canandaigua Lake, one hour south of Rochester and about 45 minutes north of Corning. We are centrally located to wineries, breweries, hiking trails, ski resorts (Swain, Bristol), fishing, Canandaigua and Keuka Lake and two state parks (Letchworth and Stony Brook.) It truly is a beautiful area with lots to do!At The Mission House, we have trails throughout our wooded property for walking, hiking, and cross country skiing. There is a NYS trout stream on the property. We have a bird feed station, so you can sit on the porch and watch the native birds. If you enjoy nature, this a great place to rest, relax and take in the scenery. Our home has Stickley (mission style) furniture throughout. There is an open concept main floor with kitchen, living room and dining room. The kitchen has all the amenities you would have in your home, including a Keurig, toaster oven, microwave, oven, frig, and dishwasher. There is also a wine frig. Island seating centers the kitchen for conversation and added work space. The dining area is large and inviting. We also have a large covered porch off the kitchen for eating, relaxing after a long hike, watching the birds or just taking in the view. If you prefer to cook outside there is a grill located just off the porch. A work area is located in the central space also. There is plenty of seating in the the living room area to visit with friends, cuddle up with a book or watch a movie on our large screened TV. There are two large bedrooms available with king sized beds with cotton linens. There are blackout blinds in each of our bedrooms, so you can have a good night's sleep. You will also find two full bathrooms with double sink vanities, large mirrors, large showers and cotton towels. We have a firepit with Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy a beautiful evening. Kindling, starter, and fire wood are available for your use. Our laundry room has a washer and dryer with space for folding clothing. There is plenty of closet space throughout the house for your clothing storage needs.
