📍 Via Fienili, 4, Bressanone

"The facilities are similar to those of a large hotel built in the early 2000s, rather dated. There's a bathtub. The room size is decent. The lack of a kettle in the room is a problem. The hotel has comprehensive public facilities, and there's a lively restaurant on the first floor. There's a large supermarket right outside. It seems to be one of the largest hotels in the area. American tour groups stay here."

Residence Isarcus

📍 Via Cesare Battisti, 20, Bressanone
★★★ 9.1 (41 reviews)

"The hotel is located in the small town of Brixen, with rooms facing the town's small river, offering absolutely beautiful views. It provides free parking and also includes swimming vouchers for the swimming center across the street. Brixen's location is very close to Lake Braies and Lake Misurina, both accessible with the free public transport pass provided by the hotel. However, we drove ourselves, which was very convenient. For Lake Braies, simply park at P3, which costs 10 euros. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. There's also a pink monastery deeper in the town that's worth a visit if you have time."

"Once again, the incredibly generous and attentive Gasserhof team has made my stay so very warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is legendary and the dinners were exquisite. The entire facilities were extremely clean and well attended. Everyone made such an effort to ensure my trip was a success and that I had everything I needed. I highly recommend this space and will most certainly return again."

Fink Restaurant & Suites Hotels in Brixen

Fink Restaurant & Suites

"Service was professional, courteous and at same time friendly. Bread and small starter from chef was excellent. Menu well thought through and somewhat creative dishes. I ordered the veal schnitzel which was a small paper thin piece of veal with a good amount of breadcrumbs. Perhaps the cook thought it was for a child. My families dishes were very good however on the small portions side. For this level of price, was expecting a bit more on the plates."

Dominik Alpine City Wellness Hotel Brixen - Adults Only Hotels in Brixen

Dominik Alpine City Wellness Hotel Brixen - Adults Only

"Everything was fine, the service was very friendly, the breakfasts fully met our expectations, the ski boot dryers were excellent, the room was spacious, and in the evenings, you could use the hall with sofas. The only thing to consider is the very slow elevator, and even if you wanted to go to -1, it always stopped at level 0, requiring you to go back to level -1. A very pleasant stay, and a very good location – the bus to Plose stops right next to the hotel, and the city center is only a few minutes' walk away."

Castell Matscher Hotels in Brixen

Castell Matscher

" The Castell Matscher is a self-catering annexe to the Krone Hotel in Brixen. The apartment is well appointed, but owing to the very poor location with motorway (A22 to Brenner pass) directly behind the building, it is not quiet or romantic, as advertised! There is constant noise. Good triple glazing does allow one some peace indoors, but using the balcony is impossible, owing to the traffic noise. The apartment is at the top of a steep incline, which is also problematic for those not coming by car as the road is narrow and vehicles travel fast. It is unlit, so walking in the dark is another hazard. Bedroom is spartan, but there is plenty of cupboard space. One hard chair to sit on. Bed has memory foam mattress which is comfortable. However, we paid 250 euros per night for staying here, so I think the standard of the bedroom was poor value for this price. The kitchen was very poorly provisioned, with a fridge and small freezer locker but no ice tray. The freezer compartment was also iced-up. Cutlery and crockery provision was inadequate. I had to wash up after every meal. Not enough of anything! At least supply a bread knife, knife sharpener, a pair of kitchen scissors and several tea-towels. There was a dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets! Dining/living area was again very spartan. Hard chairs and a giant bed affair, but no comfortable easy chairs. Bathroom was good - spacious with excellent shower, good lighting and plenty of towels. The only area that matched the price level... remember we paid 250 euros per night to stay here. There was an additional charge of 50 euros for cleaning and "sanitisation" - surely a rip-off from Covid times, and quite unjustifiable now. Finally, when we asked to see a member of management, the Receptionist told us no-one was available and had no idea when anybody would be available to address our issues. This reflects very poorly on a well-established 4* hotel in a very popular tourist destination. Walkability Big fat zero unless you are fit and strong. The apartments are not a stone's throw. You need to be able to walk uphill with luggage to get here. The road is narrow, relatively busy and unlit. Noteworthy details Brixen/Bressanone is lovely and we shall come here again. The Brixen card is a wonderful bonus and we used it every day, whether to visit the Acquarama, catch a local bus (No 123) to get to Plose mountain area, or indeed use the ski lifts there to climb higher. Local train journeys, as far as Trento are also possible with the card, saving you lots of money. We loved the town and will re-visit next autumn, but will definitely not be staying at Castell Matscher, nor will we recommend it to any of our friends."

"We traveled with our baby, and the standard room we stayed in was already quite spacious. We stayed for 5 nights, and dinner was plentiful every night. They could also prepare meals for the baby according to our requests. The hotel staff were very welcoming, and the environment was comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Plose attraction and a 20-minute walk from Brixen bus station. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, making transportation convenient and the scenery beautiful. They even gave the baby a small gift on the first day of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for family trips. Overall, both adults and children had a great time. Highly recommended!"

"I've been here 5-6 times already. This time, the front desk staff seemed noticeably undertrained. They were clearly new and seemed quite shy. Luckily, we've been here many times and are familiar with the place. The next morning, between 9 and 10, cleaning staff knocked on the door twice and came in to clean. They only apologized and left after finding us inside. It seems there's a communication problem with the front desk; they kept thinking we had checked out. The only pleasant thing was the two spa therapists, Kiki and a male. They've been there for many years. Their service is excellent, and the sauna afgus is a fantastic performance. You must try it!"

Aki Family Resort Plose ★★★★
"This is a perfect family hotel. The facilities for kids are excellent, from the on-site farm where kids can interact with the farm animals directly (there are lamas, goats, bunnies to name a few), water slides and fantastic indoor playground. The décor is all neutral colours and natural materials. For the kids, every detail has been thought of, both in rooms and in the common areas, including a stand alone "milk station" where families can get healthy snacks at all hours. The restaurant caters well both for adults and kids. We gorged on fresh salads and fruit all week, all very healthy. I did not feel it was repetitive but I am happy to eat salads and protein so did not bother me. In addition, there are pasta. pizza stations, cheeses, charcuterie, one would struggle to go hungry. A few other positives to mention: free laundry facilities, room layout was perfect where kids has their own room. The kids club was fantastic. Our normally kids club averse children were happy to stay there and actually asked to go. A lot of activities for the kids, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We will return."

"We stopped at this hotel as a stopover before discovering the Dolomites mountains. The choice fell on this establishment because it is located in the city and close to the center. The hotel has a courtyard where you can park your vehicle. The city center is easily accessible on foot and offers different dining options. For those wishing to use the train, the hotel is located just opposite. The room is spacious but without air conditioning. So the rooms are hot during a summer trip and there is little air circulation to cool the atmosphere, not to mention the absence of a mini-bar allowing you to enjoy a cold drink at worst. The breakfast is in line with Italian standards but if the sweet side is there and will satisfy the French clientele, the absence of the continental part (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, etc.) can be a difficulty for customers accustomed to salty breakfasts..."

"The hotel is situated above Brixen in the vineyards, offering a beautiful view of the town. Unfortunately, a bus only runs once an hour to and from Brixen, and the last bus departs at 7:15 pm, which is quite early for summer. Walking back to the hotel can be quite strenuous as the path is very steep. Aside from a sauna on the rooftop terrace, there are no recreational activities available. The rooms lack air conditioning and are shaded from the sun by thick curtains. The food is very good, including the breakfast, which is served at a wide variety of options. A glass of Prosecco and some fish would be nice additions. If you can't eat everything, which is usually the case, the leftovers have to be thrown away. This is a shame, as it's no longer acceptable in this day and age, given the need to protect the environment and reduce food waste."

"An unforgettable, must-do stay in Bressanone. We spent two (winter) nights at Hotel Bressanone, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The hotel is picturesque, beautifully preserved, and thoughtfully restored, with a real sense of pride in both its history and hospitality. Travelling from Australia, we felt genuinely welcomed and couldn’t fault a thing. A special shout-out to Roberta, who made breakfast extra bright and cheery each morning — she’s an absolute asset to the hotel and made our stay even more memorable!"
