Aloha Apartments

Aloha Apartments

★★★ 9.4 (62 reviews)

"The main thing was the location in the centre of town as well as being serviced by the tourist operators with a pick up at the apartments. The amenities are clean and serviceableto a high standard. The staff interaction was exceptional even with dealing with issues from a third party (island arial down)"

"Best Red Velvet Cake we've had! Be careful here the prices on menus don't include tax. The lunch menu was very limited due to supplies at the time. Had better options for dinner. Beautiful atmosphere and gardens. Great service. Tranquil place to eat."

Castaway Norfolk Island

Castaway Norfolk Island

📍 Taylors Road, Burnt Pine
★★★ 9.2 (28 reviews)

"We always use Trip Advisor when booking accommodation and it is easy to see why the Castaway was rated number 1 by travellers. We had a lovely apartment which was larger than what we expected. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The owners of the hotel are lovely friendly people, as we found all locals to be, but they went further than what one would normally expect. The day after arriving, our hosts arranged for a hire car for us, but it was not available until 12:30pm. This normally would not have been a problem, except that we needed to do some food shopping and most shops closed at 12:00. We were offered their private vehicle so that we could do our shopping which was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. All the team at the hotel we found to be friendly and helpful. Pizza night on Fridays is not to be missed as they are some of the best pizzas we have had for quite some time. Also the local beers brewed by their brewery are all recommended. We have no hesitation in recommending the Castaway and would obviously stay there again if we visited Norfolk Islnd again"

Daydreamer Apartments

Daydreamer Apartments

★★★ 9.1 (27 reviews)

"The apartments are comfortable. It'll be good when smelly gas cooking and heating is replaced with electricity. But otherwise the apartments are easy living and in a good position close to the butchers, a great cafe near the butchers, and the Post Office come general store. "

"We stayed in a 2 bed cabin with ocean views. Everything was great and none of us 4 adults had anything to complain about, clean and comfortable and the staff were great. Also on site is a bottle shop that had very good prices and the staff there were friendly as well."

Poinciana Cottages

Poinciana Cottages

📍 10 Douglas Drive, Burnt Pine
★★★ 9.6 (23 reviews)

"Lavender Cottage became our delightful home away from home stay for 10 nights on beautiful Norfolk Island. We cannot recommend Poinciana Cottages highly enough - thank you Jackie! Super comfortable, roomy for a couple, stylish, and very well equipped throughout. The picnic set, wine cooler bag, beach towels and snorkel sets were well used and much appreciated - they helped us make the most of what N.I.has to offer. Loved the garden and shared kitchen space, feeding the chickens, the fresh produce from our host, and the view from the deck is just so lovely and relaxing. Super little car came with the accommodation package and we walked into the town every day at least once (!) for coffee, shopping or a meal. Couldn’t have asked for more and hope to return one day."

Aloha Apartments ★★★
"This is a great option for families with young kids. There are two bedroom apartments and they provide cots and high chairs free of charge. We used the high chairs and they were new and safe. The pool is great but not heated. Kids will love it, parents will get in on sunny days. The apartments are so centrally located. Walk to the bakery, IGA, lots of places to eat. It is right next door to the only public playground on the island and they have an access gate directly to it. Great for toddlers/preschoolers. There's also a little skate park and a rugby field there. You need to request fresh towels a day in advance which is a little annoying (unless you stay 8 days - we stayed 7 days). The internet is free but woeful. Download everything you need before you go or head over to the pizza place, which has fantastic internet. If you plan to work here, you'll need to get a local sim to get your own internet happening. Staff are friendly, everything is clean, there are guest laundries ($5 per load, $5 for the dryer) and many hills hoists to dry wet gear (if it's not raining!). Bring some indoor activities for the kidlets. Half our week was wet and no reception ABC kids on the TV (they got some other stations, just not everything). The Olive cafe has kids toys and books. Prinke Eco Store has seasonal fruit, brown rice crackers and is kid friendly. The lavender farm has kids toys and great baked potatoes (and Sunday sesh vibes) - Sunday only. Bakery is great for kids (and adults!). Also of businesses have wifi available for customers. There's a kids book swap down near Anglicare past the knitwear shop. Bring some good quality books to read, then add to their collection. There's also an opp shop near the Folk Museum which had a few toys but could use some good quality toy donations, if you bring something you are aging out of."

Cumberland Resort & Spa ★★★★
"Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager and taken to our room. The rooms were very clean. A generous starter breakfast was provided (fresh bread, butter pats, spreads, 200ml milk and small carton of fruit juice. The beds were very comfortable. The units are not new but seem reasonably well maintained."

Castaway Norfolk Island ★★★
"We were extremely impressed by the very professional way in which Annelie dealt with a problem about an inclusion on our package. We should have had a pizza and cheese platter inclusion from the travel agent but Annelie had no record of it. She calmly provided the pizza and cheese platter and attempted to deal with our travel agent herself to solve the problem. Unfortunately neither of us was successful and in the end we were happy to reimburse Annelie. Be very careful to take note of inclusions on the package you choose. The rooms were large and very clean. The lounge and bar was a wonderful place to meet and relax and happy hour was great. The only think we lacked was a chest of drawers, but for a week long stay that is easily managed."

Ocean Breeze Cottages ★★★
"We have just spent a week in this wonderful accommodation. It is accommodation for 2. There was everything you want in a unit, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils. There were replacement of soaps etc in the cupboards. There was everything you could want - good hair dryer, iron and ironing board, good washing machine with a plentiful supply of soap, cleaning equipment, beach towels and spare bathroom towels. The unit we had No 8 had a wonderful view of Philip Island. It came with a car from Boori hire cars. This enabled us to go where we wanted. Up the road was the Boathouse and Bayles restaurant. We would recommend this as one of the best places to stay on the island, especially if you like this type of accommodation."

"Very nice spot, where the unit is. Clean and tidy grounds. Good barbecue area. Close to town. I would recommend to stay here. Plenty to see and do on the island. Pre booking tours is a good idea before getting there. Loved having a car to drive around the island. Everyone friendly and very helpful."

Seaview Norfolk Island ★★★
"Very Clean, Comfortable beds, Extremely friendly staff. The only downside was that it was not very organised. The all inclusive package was not explained well and the schedule had inconsistencies. Which tours needed vouchers and which did not would have been nice to know. The staff were very willing to help and extremely approachable. I think it would be helpful for the hotel to add a more detailed 'welcome sheet with some inital explanations, contact details for the cab service, tours and restraunts. This was a loverly place to stay for a week. Great views of the ocean. Room was a little on the small side, but quite comfortable. The place is not new and flashy, but it made up for this by being well lighted with natural breeze. I wasn't sure how it would go with no air conditioning, but the breeze was more than sufficient."

"Poinciana Cottages are well appointed units in close proximity to the town centre with many local restaurants and clubs delivering great food options. The hosts Jackie and Peter met us with a friendly welcome and provided many island insights for our two week stay. They regularly offered home produce and access to the vegetable garden to compliment our own supplies . The units were clean and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the valley. It was so quiet and peaceful and made you realise you were on holidays in a stress free environment. A fantastic holiday with many memorable moments. A place to be recommended. Thank you Jackie and Peter"
