Horseshoe Riverside Lodge

Great place to stay right on the Guadalupe River. The room was clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on ( I have a bad back so this is important to me). Wendy was a great source for information about the area and made sure we had a great stay.

I rated Horseshoe a “5” because the check-in was easy, the location for tuning was excellent, the room was clean, the patio behind the hotel was lovely overlooking the river, and the proprietors were friendly and accommodating people. I recommend highly!

Chose to stay here as it’s within walking distance from the Whitewater Amphitheatre and we were there to see Willie Nelson. Amazing setting, clean and comfortable rooms. Great meeting other people in the areas outside and river setting is beautiful. Based ourselves here to go to Gruene Hall and surrounding small towns. Fantastic service and very friendly. Over and beyond. Only con, shower wasn’t great, everything else perfect.

We had 3 rooms for a family wedding weekend and loved all 3 rooms. The beds were very comfortable and the rest of the amenities were better than a hotel. We were on the Guadalupe River with a lovely patio to go out on. Grills were on site to cook, if we wanted, the rooms were very clean and the husband and wife managing the place were very friendly. Would stay here again without a doubt.

Outstanding, I was thoroughly impressed with the back patio area. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail next to the river after a long day motorcycle riding in the hill country. I can see myself staying there anytime I’m in the area.

What an amazing place!! The rooms were clean and comfortable . My kids loved the pool and river access Gorgeous views of the Guadalupe River made for a relaxing weekend. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!

We quite enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. The hosts were friendly and obliging. Our room was very comfortable, and opened up to a large patio overlooking the Guadalupe River. We were able to watch people fishing the river., and would love to do a tube ride in better weather. We found restaurants nearby, with at least one in walking distance. The amenities were great, although most of the area tourist sites were not yet open, nor was the pool; the weather was not warm until about two days into our stay. The only things missing from our room were an iron and ironing board, although I may have been able to ask for them. We would gladly stay here again. Texas Hill Country is beautiful, and there is a lot for us to explore in the future.

This hotel is as cute as can be and I will definitely be back. The biggest selling points for me were the hotel location right next to the river, and the massive and shaded patio in the back of the hotel facing river. The room was very clean and had a nicely decorated horseshoe theme to match the name of the hotel. The room layout was well thought out and very functional with plenty of room to put a couple of suitcases, bags, a couple of coolers and not be in the way. The hotel grounds are clean and exceptionally well maintained. I especially enjoyed drinking my morning coffee sitting on the patio under the shade of huge oak trees and enjoying the view of the river. A couple of ducks waddled up to us on the patio from the river to check us out. Sitting on the beautiful patio at night was also very relaxing while hearing the river flow. You can literally walk out the back door of your room onto the patio, which runs longer than the length of the hotel with plenty of seating (benches, tables, and picnic tables). There are a couple of grills on the patio, and a shaded pool next to the patio. Thank you to Wendy for a nice stay!

We recently hosted a reunion of 20 Air Force retiree couples who were stationed together in Japan in the late ‘80s. Wendy and Doc, the managers, took great care of us. Check-ins were smooth. The rooms were very clean. The riverside patio was perfect for visiting with a few or a lot of our friends at a time. Many chair and tables. We served all our meals on the patio. Great view. Easy access to the river for our tubing events. Clean pool. We loved this place and the wonderful, kind, helpful couple that manages it. Whether you need one room or the entire lodge, you won’t be disappointed.
