"Such a shame the second of our two nights ruined what had started as a nice break. The owners had a very loud party for a relative that went on until midnight and was impossible to sleep through. Our room actually shook with the noise of the music. They did change us to another room and gave us a bottle of wine but even then sleep was impossible. Plus having to pack all our belongings late into the evening when we were trying to sleep wasn't great. Frankly if they are prepared to take bookings knowing they have a large and loud event planned they aren't hosts I could recommend. We booked a small country hotel and got Ibiza. We have complained but they seem to think the bottle of wine makes everything ok."

"Treated my parents to a meal at the Cross Keys this evening.. 4 adults, a teenager and a 4 year old. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food (cooked by the lovely Anne) was perfect for what we needed on the hottest day of the year so far. Large portions but able to take a doggy bag home. So many options on the menu, a lot better than the standard 'pub grub' you get used to seeing in other similar establishments. Professional, friendly staff too. Such a lovely meal on a Monday evening. Highly recommended."

"So likable I extended. The location score only applies if you have a vehicle. It’s a truck highway stop with a petrol station, EV car chargers and a large food court containing multiple outlets. If you don’t have a vehicle it’s an uber or long walk to public transport. The hotel itself is functional with accommodating staff. Ive wasted 10 mins of my life trying to upload photos of the EV charging station. It exists and is a plus for the hotel."

"We recently booked a two night stay. On arrival we were promptly asked to present our Debit Card for payment in full before we were even shown the room.Had we seen the room before payment we would certainly not have stayed. The carpets throughout were well worn and soiled. The decor in the bedroom left alot to be desired i.e.picture hooks with no pictures on display. The curtain linings had become detached from the curtains but the most concerning factor was the mattress which was totally collapsed on one side and not much better on the other side. On pulling back the sheet we found it to be very soiled and felt very unclean. Hence a sleepness night for both of us. We couldn't face another night. We asked for a refund for the second night but were refused."

"Chatteris is in the middle of the fens so well-placed to get many places but the roads are bad (falling away). It is an ancient building so many small steps. Room a good size and en-suite well fitted. Sort of 4-poster bed but lacked the curtains. Shower lacked power and was very hard to control temperature. Clean. Little noise from street and none from bar but walls and ceilings thin so luck on noise from guests, Good price and basic but okay breakfast. No problems with service. Very large TV in room. Open rail in room rather than wardrobe. Dinners were good value and okay but not exceptional."

"The location is inside A14 service station, and there are many shops as M&S, Costa, Mcdonald's, and so on. An tesco extra is also closer to this hotel. It was good that the parking fee is free here. My room is behind the reception and it was a little noisy. You should ravoid choosing the room, if possible."

"Stayed 3 nights so that we could visit family and friends in the area. Booked a twin room which had adequate space for 2 of us and separate area with small table and chairs if needed. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm (once I was shown how to activate the heating) Unfortunately the bathroom was very cold as the hotel boiler needed repair so the radiator wasn’t working. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is quite dated and in need of an upgrade which is on the planning. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially when I realised I’d left my own personal pillow on the bed. They tracked it down and a friend collected for me the next day. Definitely stay agin when next in the area."
