Hotel Azul de la Plaza by Chat Noir ★★★
"A sweet deal for $25/night in mid July 2026. Great customer service, good location, and some of the staff speak English. The rooms were mostly comfortable even for a tall person. Decent hot water and pressure in the showers (but slow and sometimes clogged drainage), televisions in the rooms that don't work as intended, reliable wifi albeit slow, nice views from the windows, free coffee water and tea, broken/malfunctioning lamps and lights in the rooms. The hotel sits on one end of a public square with just about everything you'd need on a daily basis within walking distance."
Hotel Boutique Santa Lucia ★★★★
"The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable with a small attention that makes you enjoy. The hotel is very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel makes it easy to visit the city centre walking."
Four Points by Sheraton Cuenca ★★★★
"Very good, will come next time"
Mansion Alcazar ★★★★
"The overall environment of the hotel is quite good. But the room was very small and very forced, there was no air conditioning, it was cold, and I lived on the second floor 4 times in the morning and evening to try to take a bath, but there was hot water once. The room can be said to have no sound insulation, Wifi is not so easy to use, often stuck and disconnected. Although the decoration looks good, the facilities experience is not very good, just so-so, the overall experience is generally biased."
Morenica del Rosario ★★★
Casa de las Rosas ★★★
"Our stay at La Casa de las Rosas was simply wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome with their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, and every corner of the place feels warm and inviting. You can tell there's a lot of care behind everything they do. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cuenca. A peaceful, charming experience that we’d love to repeat. Thank you for making our stay so special!"
Oro Verde Cuenca ★★★★
"The entire hotel is non-smoking and clean"
Santa Lucia House - Forum ★★★★
"Great experience. Very professional staffs and smile on face.."
TRYP by Wyndham Cuenca Zahir ★★★★
"The environmental sanitation is very good. Although the weather is suitable and no air conditioning is needed, it is still a bit uncomfortable to live in a hotel without air conditioning. As always, there are no slippers in foreign hotels. This time there was no paper in the room. 😵💫"

El Dorado Hotel
"Very close to the central square and the cathedral, go out and turn left for about a few minutes to walk, downstairs is the tram, there is a supermarket next door on the right hand side. Every time you come to Cuenca, you must live, the scenery outside the window is beautiful"
Hotel Vaway
Pepe's House Cuenca I Hotel & Boutique Hostel
"How do I start! This place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed there a week and don't regret a second of it! The location in in the heart of the historical district of Cuenca. We went on multiple day tours, all of which the hotel helped set up and organized. The staff is absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast is so great. I can't forget to mention the wondfuo cats that welcome you upon entering the cat! I can't speak highly enough of Pepe's!! I want to go back so bad!!"
Hotel la Casona
"A little surprised at the ranking for this hotel. I wouldn't stay here if it wasn't for being on a tour. It's about 15 minute walk to anything. So the location was not really convenient. The hotel breakfast offered what others haven't in Ecuador which is a daily special so you get to try local dishes like tamales or hominy. The house keeping as with few places I stayed in Ecuador is pretty clueless. I need to remake the bed everyday. There were also holes in the pillow cases. What was most annoying was the daily renovation to install smoke alarms. Three out of three days, I come back to hotel with my room opened, tools all over the place, drilling and sawing staring 9am. By the time I left, the smoke alarms were still not installed."
Hotel Norte
"Friendly owner and staff Great location for exploring Nearby restaurants and supermarkets are convenient. A spacious and comfortable place."
Hotel Santiago de Compostella Suites
"It's a hotel located in a good area, across from Supermaxi, and 10 minutes from the airport. I recommend it; I liked the service. The service in general is good, the rooms are comfortable, the price is very reasonable, and the staff are kind and helpful."
Hotel Yanuncay
"Our first 3 nights in Ecuador was spent at The Yanuncay Hotel in Cuenca. The hotel is a very short taxi ride to Parque de La Madre and all the wonders of the historic district. The hotel manager Marcos was amazing! He made every effort possible to be helpful and accommodating. We had 6 very large and heavy pieces of luggage and he helped us load all of them in our van that carried us to Loja. The room was comfortable, clean and roomy. Thank you Hotel Yanuncay for making our welcome to Ecuador so warm and welcoming. Richard and Donna"
Hotel Raymipampa
"We are in the historic centre of Cuenca, very moving, lively and, I would say, almost western, and for the next two nights we will rest in a fantastic colonial house, restored, rising back to the last century. I would never have imagined waking up the morning of ferragosto in a hotel room with the vintage style, the end of the eighth century, Spanish colonial, and heard the sparkling of the trams on the rails. The rooms offer a patio and a living room, with a sofa and a desk for the comfort of guests."
Itza Hotel Boutique Internacional
"The experience starts the moment you get in the lobby of Itza Hotel. Everything is so beautiful! Each piece and object of this hotel has been tastefully curated. When you get to the rooftop your jaw drops! It is simply gorgeous! The service is amazing and the food is awesome! It’s a place to visit over and over."
Hotel Cruz del Vado
"Cruz del Vado was recommended by the people that organized our trip and cited as one of the top hotels in the city. But, the stay experience fell very short of our expectations. I will share a few of the detractors that should guide you with your decision making. Firstly, I was assigned a room that was the smallest I’ve stayed in, perhaps in my almost 5 decades of travel. I would say that it was not much more than 100 square feet, including the closet and bathroom. To be fair, I saw some other rooms and they were larger. But this is not something that you expect in a supposedly high-end property. The second important thing to consider is that with the exception of a couple of suites in the front of the building, all the rooms face inwards, to a modern and closed vestibule that is very far from being a charming courtyard. The door has a blasted glass panel and there is a small window at its side. This window does open, but I was not able to cool my room; it was always stuffy and unventilated. Again, in such a beautiful city with such amazing buildings, this is a big negative. For those of you who will need a decent internet signal, I barely had enough to connect and I had to make calls from the corridor. Showers are important to me. For all 4 days that I was at the hotel, I had access to very little pressure, and the temperature was warm, but definitely not hot. The final negative that I will mention is with regard to location. Cruz del Vado was cited as having a great location, but actually, it’s on the busiest entrance to the city center, from the south. This street has a lot of traffic. It is actually difficult to cross it and it always reeks of diesel and oil, from all of the vehicles. Consider that anything within 6 or 7 blocks of the central plaza offers a great location, so if you look around, you will find all sorts of alternatives."
