"I was initially in a dilemma about whether to stay here or not, but looking back, it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip! After carefully planning the journey, getting there was actually quite straightforward. For those coming from Hohhot, here's the route I took: 1. Take a train from Hohhot to Dalate West Station. 2. Take a Didi from Dalate West Station to Huailian Tourism Resort Reception Center (about 40 minutes, around CNY50). 3. Purchase rm176 of the Whistling Dune Bay package ticket, which includes admission, cable car, Yuesha Island access, and a camel ride. 4. Resort guests have access to a special lane for the cable car, which takes about 8 minutes. 5. Upon arrival, take the resort jeep transfer to the accommodation area. 6. Enjoy activities such as sand sliding, swimming in the pool, stargazing, and simply experiencing the peaceful desert atmosphere at night. 7. After checkout, take the jeep transfer to the mini desert train, followed by the duck car ride, before returning via cable car. 8. It can be difficult to get a Didi from the resort reception area, but the staff kindly helped arrange a taxi back to Dalate West Station for around CNY50. 9. Continue the journey from Dalate West Station to Ordos. What impressed me most was the hospitality. From the WeChat communication before arrival to the reception team and resort staff, everyone was incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The night experience was truly spectacular. The desert becomes so peaceful after sunset — all you can hear is the sound of the sand, while above you is a sky filled with countless stars and a beautiful moon. It was one of the most memorable moments of my trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique desert stay and unforgettable experience!"

After arriving, I found that it is indeed very design-conscious and tasteful. The overall style is warm and gives people a very comfortable feeling. The lady at the front desk was very polite and considerate. When I came by plane, the lady at the front desk asked in advance if I needed to arrange a pick-up. After I arrived, she would also help me contact a taxi when I went out to do business. I will continue to choose this hotel next time I come."

"The front desk staff at this hotel had a ** problem 1. When checking in, the front desk guy said that breakfast ended at 9:00, but the room card said it ended at 9:30. I just asked the service staff which one was based on. He said their kitchen aunt got up at 3:00 in the morning to make breakfast. Why can't the guests understand their aunt's hard work? I don’t understand why he was so angry with us before we checked in. 2, booked a parent-child room, 10:30 pm washing found the hotel no children's toothbrush, called the front desk to send down, the front desk deep sigh made me think I was wrong. When I opened the door to collect my toothbrush, I felt that the front desk guy's eyes wanted to **. There is no tissue in the toilet behind, so I dare not call to ask for it, for fear of something happening. 3, around 10 pm found the quilt a bit thick, called to only the quilt cover to sleep. The front desk reluctantly gave you a quilt cover, saying that you don't want me to give you a dirty quilt cover either. Inexplicable! Early style in general, is the standard of homestay, acceptable. What is unacceptable is that when we had breakfast in their dishwashing room, we found that they didn’t use detergent or anything like washing the dishes. They just washed the chopsticks and plates with clean water, and then continued to use them,🌚🌚 Roads are under construction near the hotel, making it inconvenient to drive in and out of the hotel. Advantages In this small county town the decoration style of the room is still relatively refreshing, the room is relatively clean."

For lunch the next day, we decisively chose the stewed lamb at a small restaurant. It was very tasty; you must try the Inner Mongolian lamb when you visit. I highly recommend this guesthouse!"

The elevated camping platform under the trees offers shade from the native forest, decorated with Mongolian patterns that add a local touch, creating a fantastic tent camping atmosphere. The owner cleverly uses the well house as a popular photo spot, with auspicious text and koi fish decorations, resulting in excellent photos. Nestled in the countryside, backed by cornfields and protective forests, the environment is quiet and free from urban noise, with low light pollution at night, allowing for clear stargazing. The venue is well-maintained, with gravel paving and hardened floors that are both aesthetically pleasing and fireproof and drainage-resistant. The owner is warm and welcoming, and food and equipment can be booked in advance. It's suitable for short trips to the suburbs, family gatherings, company team building, and camping stays. It's a rare gem of a rural homestay in the Dalate Banner area, with an elegant and pristine environment, thoughtfully designed photo spots, and attentive service. It's suitable for team building and family trips. The hygiene details are handled meticulously, making it a worry-free experience. Every facility and room is newly renovated, with coordinated colors for the bedding and curtains. The rooms are clean, bright, and comfortable, and quiet, perfect for relaxation."

The hotel is a bit on the smaller side with somewhat limited space, but the layout is compact and efficient, making it very convenient to access all functional areas. This actually works out as an advantage when traveling with kids, as you don't have to walk long distances. However, there are three minor drawbacks: 1. The dining quality significantly lags behind that of the Lotus Hotel. I suggest the hotel upgrade its meal standards. Adjusting room rates or dining prices accordingly would be feasible. For guests, the core appeal is the vacation experience, and improved dining would greatly boost overall reputation. 2. While the pool looks impressive, the water temperature is too low. Even with an outdoor temperature of 38℃ on that day, the pool water was still freezing cold, making it impossible to swim. This was a significant disappointment compared to expectations. 3. During my stay, there was a minor issue with room cleaning. Thankfully, the hotel, in coordination with Trip.com, resolved it efficiently and properly. Both the resolution process and the final outcome were very satisfactory. Compared to similar hotels in the Desert region, the Shansha Hotel is generally recommendable. Its unique, futuristic architecture resembles an interstellar island in the desert, making it a top choice for families with children."

The three buffet meals offer a wide variety, including authentic Inner Mongolian specialties, and snacks and drinks are available all day. The guest wristband grants unlimited access to Xiansha Island and Yuesha Island, with VIP access that bypasses long queues in the sun, significantly enhancing the overall experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provide direct desert views. A humidifier is a thoughtful touch, effectively combating the desert dryness. The staff are attentive and considerate, and the internal shuttle service makes getting around convenient. Watching the desert sunset in the evening, followed by a lively bonfire party and stargazing at night, creates a truly atmospheric experience. There’s no need to constantly travel back and forth to attractions; everything from dining to entertainment is handled in one place, making it perfect for families. If you’re visiting Xiangshawan, I highly recommend staying at the Lotus Hotel."
