Floral Hotels in Datong

We are very lucky to have chosen Huazhu Yanzhenju Courtyard B&B (Datong Ancient City Drum Tower Branch), which is adjacent to the Yanzhen Tower stage on the south side of the Guandi Temple. This is a quaint three-courtyard courtyard with a unique and warm rest area in each courtyard. The store manager Feng is amiable and enthusiastic in introducing us to the famous attractions and food around the B&B. We had breakfast at Longjuxiang Shaomai Restaurant (Drum Tower Branch), about a 5-minute walk away. The breakfast here is rich in variety and tastes great. The Liu Laolao Dou Mian Laohao noodles are also very authentic (north side of the Sipailou, 9-minute walk). The surrounding attractions include Nine Dragon Wall, Dai Wangfu, Shanhua Temple, South Ancient City Wall Gate (Yongtai Gate), Huayan Temple, Chunyang Palace, etc. The B&B is located in the central area of ​​​​Drum Tower East Street, and the night view is beautiful!

I highly recommend staying here! The owners are very kind and helped us book a private driver to visit some of the nearby sites (grottos and hanging monastery). They also helped us pay our driver when we were having some issues with alipay. The location is also very good about a 10-15 min walk to the center of datong old city. We absolutely loved their tatami room and all of the areas are clean and tastefully decorated. One area for improvement is that the owners sometimes smoke in the lounge area right outside the rooms - which may bother some guests who do not smoke.

In Datong, a historical city, Xiaomanju Boutique B&B is undoubtedly a pleasant place to live. From the moment you step into the hospital door, you can feel the owner's heart. The simple and elegant courtyard design cleverly integrates the charm of Jinbei houses and the comfort of modern life. Suitable, every detail reveals tranquility and style. The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete and the quality is excellent, the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, and the night is peaceful. The most memorable thing is the intimate service. The host is warm and thoughtful but not disturbed. He will patiently introduce Datong's play guides and authentic food. Make the journey feel warm. Drinking a cup of coffee in the yard in the morning, watching the sun shine in the bricks and tiles, or sitting around in the evening, makes people completely relax. The location is also very convenient, not far from Huayan Temple, Kowloon Wall and other attractions. If you are looking for a place to sleep in Datong, but a living experience with temperature and story, Xiaomanju is definitely the best choice. highly recommended!

Excellent location being close to almost all of the major attractions in the datong ancient city as well as the famous knife cut noodle and shumai restaurants are just short walking distance away. It is also very close to the bus stop for Yungang grottoes. The inn and room overall is very clean. I really enjoy the view from the room. The host is very lovely and can help with your travel advise and booking for transport hire to go to the hanging temple . The only negative that I can pick on is the shower situation which was not designed very well. The water outward flow from the shower is not fast enough so you end up standing on a puddle of water. And the shower curtains not positioned well so there is always going to be water splashed outside of the shower zone. I only stayed for one night and I think It’s minor compared to what this accomodation offers. I wish I could stay for more nights as it is very nice

I was amazed when I entered this guesthouse! 😁 My husband and I decided on a whim to take a trip to Datong, so we booked this guesthouse for the night. Perhaps because it wasn't peak season, we only paid 200 yuan. Entering the courtyard, we found it was a small villa with only six rooms. We stayed on the first floor; there were two floors in total. The facilities had unique decorations, and entry and exit were done with passwords. Datong winters are quite cold, so we kept the air conditioning on at 23 degrees Celsius while sleeping because the underfloor heating was incredibly warm. The toiletries were all in small packages, which was safe to use. The place was very clean, the bedding was spotless, and there was even a welcome fruit platter. The owner was very welcoming and even gave us recommendations for restaurants and eateries around Datong. In short, the price was amazing.

The location is very good, between Huayan Temple, Bell Tower and Grand Mosque, and it is also close to popular restaurants such as Fenglinge, Longjuxiang, Zini and Heshengcai. The staff are hospitable and willing to introduce the delicious and fun things around. The room facilities are very new and the bedding is comfortable. There is an elevator in the building, and you can take a taxi at the bell tower roundabout, so it is very convenient to get in and out. recommend!

I booked it based on the good reviews, but the overall experience was average. It may also be that I have little experience in homestays and lack horizontal comparison. First of all, there are few choices around breakfast and you need to walk a long way. The closed windows in the room are very stuffy and the air circulation is poor, which makes the elderly feel uncomfortable. There is not much aisle space in the twin room, which is inconvenient to move around. The water heater uses a household electric water heater, and it is difficult to maintain a stable water temperature when two people take a bath. I stayed for 3 days, and the room was not cleaned in time (it seems that this is the case for homestays?) The toiletries were not replenished on time, and I felt that some details were neglected. Overall, the overall impression is average, and I hope that improvements can be made in services and facilities in the future. What I am satisfied with is that the TV channels are very rich, and the ancient city wall is very close, which is also good in terms of cost performance.

We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. During the May Day holiday, the housing prices in Datong soared. Since we were traveling by car, we chose this hotel. It is a little far from the ancient city, but parking is convenient. The waiters are also very enthusiastic. They greet each other when they come in and out. Although the room is not big, it is very clean and warm. The standard room we stayed in on the first day was fine. The parent-child room we stayed in on the second day was a bit tasteless. There was an extra bed, but the room space was not increased much. The two suitcases could not be unfolded. We barely found an open space, and it was inconvenient to walk. There were chairs, but no place to sit. There was only a small table.

The room was very clean, the store was very friendly, they would send travel guides and recommend restaurants, all of which were the best choices without any disappointments. They also gave me Shanxi aged vinegar before I left, which was very thoughtful. The towels and bath towels in the room were all disposable, which might be a little thin, but they were hygienic and environmentally friendly, recommended.
