"This hotel in the charming village of Grignan is actually my favourite hotel in the world. I've been coming here for years, and each time the experience gets better and better. The original hotel with it's elegant rooms and beautiful gardens make you feel transported to another world, and the new addition and renovation of the old farmhouse Chapouton which is only a few minutes walk is another creation extraordinaire! The two restaurants - the Bistro (SO great!) and the Michelin star restaurant (Which is beyond AMAZING and should definitely be on your bucket list!!) is only surpassed by the hotel staff. They are so kind and professional and always there to make sure your experience is one to remember. "Having stayed in budget hotels in Montelimar on several occasions, with some prett ghastly experiences, for our latest trip, we cast the net a little wider, and came up with Domaine Du Colombier. After a 600+ mile drive from the UK, we were really just looking for somewhere to lay our heads for a few hours, however nothing could have prepared us for such a divine place. We were somewhat concerned when we had to turn off and drive through an industrial area, however the road quickly took us into a quiet backwater with some simply stunning properties. The hotel was simply magnificent. With its history based in the 14th Century, and originally a stopping point for the Camino, it is now a superb blend of ancient and modern. The staff were really attentive, more than helpful, and really welcoming, so first impressions excellent. The room was small, but really functional, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with the communal areas in the same vein. There are two choices of restaurant, a fine dining experience, and a bright and modern bistro. If the food in the bistro is anything to go by, the fine dining would be off the scale good! Again, the staff were really helpful, very well trained, with the whole experience being wonderful. If I was being really hyper critical, the only downside was a lack of information as to what the breakfast offering was, but such a minor detail, it fades into insignificance with just how good everything else is! We are booked to return in January, really cannot wait!"

"I have always wanted to visit Maison Pic. I booked 1 year ahead to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed tow nights to enjoy the gourmet dinner on 1st evening and André brasserie on the 2nd night. Deluxe room was spacious, clean and luxurious. From start to finish we had a great time, with wonderful staff, brilliant service. The history of the restaurant and family is very special and one of the reasons I wanted to go there and meet Ann Sophie Pic. It did not disappoint. The food speaks for itself, fresh, delicious with amazing texture combinations. Excellent wines, cocktails and non alcoholic cocktails. The gardens were tranquil and relaxing, despite the premises being in the town. The bonus of a small swimming pool in the back was lovely. The breakfast though wonderful but was a bit carb heavy, and perhaps a balance with eggs and bacon etc, with less breads/pastries would be nice. But to be honest everything was delicious and the value in the brasserie and quality was very good. 10 course menu was amazing and portions very generous. I will be coming back again and may have a few friends along as well! Thank you to all the staff who made our trip very special. Especially, for the mini tour as well and our celebration cake. Practical points: easy access by train from Lyon but take the TER from Lyon Part Dieu to Valence ville centre (not the TGV). Taxi from station less than 5 minutes. From the hotel you can easily walk into town for shopping, the city gardens and site seeing with plenty of restaurants . Valence is a nice stop on the way down to Avignon, should you choose. Maison Pic has parking available on advance notification."
