The Key Hotel Dubuque, Tapestry Collection by Hilton ★★★★

"This new hotel is lovely. I do not like barn doors for the bathroom and never will. It was very clean. Everything worked in the room. For whatever reason, the keyless entry would not let me off the elevator so I was stuck. I managed to get off on another floor and front desk clerk came to rescue me & give me a physical key. Other complaint is that it's a long walk from the parking lot to the entrance if you are handicapped and parked in the handicapped parking. The higher level big shots get closer parking. Do they need that physically? Highly doubtful in most cases."

The Hancock House ★★★

"We stayed in the premium room (Library) on the ground floor after an interesting check-in. The innkeeper does not answer calls or texts promptly so you may stand outside the door for a while. Parking is down the hill and you drag your bags up a steep incline and up tall porch steps to get inside. Others had to further drag their things upstairs to their rooms. On a positive side, the house details are beautiful and the view from the large porch each day was stunning. There was coffee and cups so I made a pot each morning. Some snacks were out to stave off hunger until you drove to your breakfast spot. Can't walk from here as it's on the side of a cliff. Public spaces are quite lovely and I felt like I was leasing a room at a museum, that finely detailed. Overall, worth the money."
