"Don't stay at this place. I am not one to review accomodation but this place is so bad I feel Indeed to try and warn people not to stay. It is dirty, the beds are terrible not clean and very old and uncomfortable, and the shower was the dirtiest I have ever seen. I slept on the top of the bed as it looked so grubby. I got up and left at 7am to get out of building. If I was offered a free night I would turn it down. How they can charge a £100 a night is unbelievable you would have to paye to stop there again.Be aware"

"The guest house is central to Filey so all shops, eateries and beach etc is nearby. Busy street and surrounding streets for parking but managed eventually; no dedicated parking bays. Lovely welcome by the manager/owner and stayed in a beautiful room which was tastefully decorated and furnished; comfy bed and lovely clean en-suite. Toiletries available but the bottle design made it difficult to shake contents out. No issues with noise despite being on a fairly busy road. Disappointing that they don't offer cooked breakfast but they have a young family so no doubt extremely busy, they offer uncooked breakfast options. Would definitely recommend and stay again ."

"Called in today with my young disabled son and asked to use the toilet as he was desperate and is only a young child (5) I was then told I had to purchase something for him to use the toilet before he could even use the restroom resulting in him having an accident as couldn’t hold it in, we then had to go back to our place of stay as he couldn’t continue with his activities for the day we had planned, shocking wouldn’t advise anyone to go here. Stay clear!"

"Really excellent B&B. Lovely location, near to all the local amenities, lots of bars, cafes, shops within 5 min walk. Beach & seafront is literally round the corner!! Athol House provides spotlessly clean, comfortable accommodation with everything a guest could need. All the facilities met our needs, the host was very welcoming & attentive. The breakfast was good quality products served to a high standard, very tasty & plentiful with a good selection on offer. Great value for money, would recommend & will definitely be returning. "

"Could have been a little cleaner. Few items needed mending - shower screen, carpet grips were sharp. Nice location once we found the street name Booked tennis but was water logged so too slippy to play Good kitchen if wanted to make meals Hot water was hot but was signs saying so Filey 5 mins drive - see photo for Parking close to the beach"
