Very nice well kept traditional ryokan. If you are expecting modern do not stay here. Hotels like these are older and have been around for many years but are well maintained. 
I love sleeping on tatami - I slept for 10 hours! 


Unfortunately I felt a bit dumbfounded when the dinner included is just ramen. On the trip.com photos there are two photos of meals and I assumed one was dinner and the other breakfast. Maybe this use to be the case but trip/ the hotel should specify better what is being served. Especially in small towns there aren’t many dinner options - there is an Aeon (supermarket) a short walk of course if you’d like a bento dinner instead. 

Also no wifi in the room. As an international traveler I had to up my esim data for the day. They don’t advertise wifi in the room - they have it in the lobby so it wouldn’t be hard to get an extender to the rooms. 

The onsen was nice however I found the outside onsen made a lot of noise- I’ve been to many onsen and this was the first that ever made noise from the filter so it wasn’t as relaxing as it could have been. 

Overall decent stay but probably wouldn’t go back

The hotel is in a very good location, just a 1-minute walk to Kinrin Lake. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite and provided a good reception. ￼
In addition, we booked a one-night stay and two-meals package. The quality of the food was very high. There were sukiyaki and sashimi, which our family of three could not finish. ￼In addition, the hotel's hot springs are also very good, both indoor and outdoor. ￼Since the hotel does not have many rooms ￼, we can basically have the whole hot spring to ourselves when we take a dip.
I highly recommend this hotel

I chose this place because it seemed the cleanest among the Beppu accommodations.
The room was clean, the room was spacious, and the view was amazing.
There's a private bath fee of 1,500 yen.

It felt like a business hotel.
There was only one thing I liked:
The room was spacious and clean.

The dinner buffet wasn't much different from other hotel buffets.
I was looking forward to the Oita Wagyu beef, but it was tough and the food wasn't prepared with any care.
The rest of the food was like a 3-star buffet.

There is a wonderful hot spring bath that flows directly from the source. I felt that the topaz-colored hot water had the effect of regulating the autonomous nerves and relaxing the stiffness.
The single room is clean and new and close to JR Ozai station, so it may be perfect for a solo trip for hot spring purposes.

　However, the problem is staff and management.
Even if I tried to enter the large communal bath after check-in, it was crowded with day trip bathers and washed potatoes. I took a bath the next morning because I had a plan. Check the front desk multiple times that you can take a bath the next morning.
　But the next morning, the public bath was closed with a close display.
There were other angry guests, and eventually everyone took a bath. I was impressed by the wonderful quality of the spring.

　Another thing is that you have to fill in all your address and phone numbers at check-in. When booking through online companies such as Trip.com, the hotel side has all the information, and originally it is only a signature. Or rather, it is almost the case now.
　I had a minor finger disability and had a help mark. I was in pain because my hands were not good at shaking.
　I managed to finish writing, but I had further mental pain. The staff spoke out and corrected it while saying, ”Is this 7? 3?” I cried in tears of sadness that I was embarrassed.
　I wonder if I can't see the help mark.
All of these seemed to be caused by the staff, and I felt that there was a problem with the management's lion ruler operation.
　Vijiho, which has a wonderful large communal bath that flows directly from the source, is actually quite rare. To the manager. Please acquire a customer's perspective as much as possible.
