The hotel was very clean, and the service of staff was excellent especially up at the rooftop bar.
Facilities wise the only thing I could fault them on was only having 2 washer/dryer machines. It a big hotel with a lot of guests so managing to use the washing/drying machines was hard work.
Location although quiet it was not the best having to walk through the ********* ******** practically every time you were heading back from the train station area. In the end I began walking right around to avoid the constant hassle from the touts. 

Views from the rooftop bar were outstanding.

This is so far the best value for money hotel I have stayed in Tokyo in the last forty years. Akabane may not be a popular area for visitors, but I can assure you this is a very convenient location. The hotel is very close to train station and many train routes to Shinjuku, Ueno, Tokyo plus more. The hotel is modern and the room is large and clean, even the toilet, washing basin and shower area are all separated. You have to pay double or three times more in other hotels. There are many eating outlets around the hotel and they are excellent and much cheaper than other popular areas. The hotel even offer free afternoon tea between 3-5pm. You should try to stay at this hotel and use Akanane as a base to explore Tokyo.

First off, the hotel staff is INCREDIBLE!!! They all spoke excellent English, and they offered to help without being asked. They kept my luggage in storage, offered me water and coffee before checking in, and gave me directions when I asked. The hotel is right by the station, making it very easy to get to. It's on a quiet street, and is in general quite quiet at night. The rooms are on the smaller side (typical of Japan) and on the humid side (typical during the rainy season) but the room had a dehumidifier that I suggest you use. All in all, a positive experience, made better by the excellent staff. Thank you.

New comfortable hotel. I liked that the room was small, but comfortable. The view from the window was to the courtyard, nothing to look at. Consider this hotel if you want to be outside more and walk around the city. Comfortable bathroom and shower.

Compared with several business hotels nearby, the room is more spacious, and there is a foot massager in the room, which is not usually used, but it comes in handy after a day of walking. There is unlimited supply of tea, coffee and bottled water in the lobby.
The downside is that the breakfast is very simple, with only small breads and simple cereals, and the lobby refrigerator, which could have been used to store milk, broke down for several days and was not repaired. As a result, every time I wanted to make cereal for breakfast, I had to ask the front desk for milk separately. Another disadvantage is that there is no large hot spring, only an indoor bath tub. Of course the corresponding advantage is cheapness. There is also a very old system for the room card.

Just a stone throw from JR station from the North exit (3 red lights away). Room is new and comfortable. There are usually big queues at check in but you can use the automatic check in to save time (although we didn’t as there were a group of us so we needed to speak to the front desk).

The hotel offers a variety of onsen experiences, including a rooftop open-air bath, which was a highlight of our stay. The small indoor water park was enjoyable, though access to the slides required renting additional equipment, which felt unexpected given the room rate. The Western-style room, while functional, appeared dated, particularly the furnishings, and the pillows lacked adequate support. During our two-night stay, the breakfast and dinner buffet menus remained the same each day, which limited variety.

The lady staff at check in counter handling my check in was the most impolite hotel receptionist I had even come across not only in Japan but also in Asia. Her altitude was rude, arrogant, impatient to answer questions and always wore a long black face. I will never stay in your hotel again.

My son and I stayed at Granbell hotel Tanuki Sapporo twin room. The room was clean and enough space for us. Even though it is mentioned that cleaning would be done once fortnightly, the staff would try to accommodate when they missed cleaning the room because we left the room late on the stipulated cleaning day. It is a nice hotel with great proximity to the attractions. The hotel is at the foot of Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It is also just a short walk to Odori Park. There is a big 7-11 store next to the hotel which makes it convenient should we need any late night snacking. And oh yes, the onsen is equally enjoyable too.

Very clean. Many amenities available including toothbrushes, skin care, face masks. Has coffee machine in lobby and there is cutlery available as well. Public bath is very clean although simple and small. Laundry is affordable with included detergent. Rooms are quite small but cannot complain for location and price. Would recommend.

Aside from the location, this is a great place to stay for a simple stay! The staff are friendly and the room is clean, but it seems they don't provide extra cleaning for our two-night stay, which was disappointing. The bathroom is spotlessly clean! The area is quiet and close to a Life Mart, but the distance from the station makes it a bit of a walk.
