New modern rustic cabin that backs up to Grayson Highlands State Park. Be prepared for stargazing and cool refreshing nights. Minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park and the Creeper Trail. All the modern conveniences in a rural setting.The cabin is a traditional full dovetail Appalachian cabin constructed of white pine. The cabin is around 600 ft.² with a full bathroom, full kitchen/dining area, loft bedroom area. The structure has a covered vaulted front porch and rear porch. There are many amenities to make the guest feel more at home Including towels, linens for the beds, soap/shampoo, cooking utensils, pots/pans and anything else you would need for cooking a good meal. We have a Weber kettle grill on the back porch for grilling out as well. In addition, we provide complementary coffee and a bundle of firewood for the outdoor pit.The cabin is located in a beautiful spot at approximately 4000 feet elevation. Due to the elevation, temperatures are typically much cooler than the surrounding areas. It is recommended to bring a jacket even in the warmer months. Due to the close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park, you may occasionally see a wild pony wondering to the property. There’s bountiful wildlife around the property including deer, turkey, many bird species and the occasional bear.The road to the cabin is a state maintained gravel road. Although a 2wd car/truck will work fine, we recommend a 4wd if possible due to the steep nature of the road. Brand new construction. It is at the top of a mountain overlooking the historic New River. This cabin has everything you would ever want in a vacation rental. It has an open-concept kitchen with access to the front deck for beautiful countryside, mountain views, as well gorgeous views of the river. So close you can hear the river right from the front deck. The kitchen is also fully stocked with brand new stainless steel appliances, ready to accommodate any size family's cooking needs. We provide trash bags, paper towels, and dishwasher tabs. We have a crock pot, coffee maker, blender, outside griddle, and much much more for all your cooking needs. The kitchen is open into the living room with comfortable seating for all guests. The couch is a Serta mattress couch that turns into a full-size queen bed with a head that elevates. Can be used for extra guests or just lounging around and watching movies. We have ceramic tile that looks like wood throughout the rental which gives it that real home feel. The house is equipped with 2 full-size bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, with direct access to the hot tub just outside the deck door. We have towels for the hot tub and a Bluetooth speaker available for use with the hot tub. It also has a 55-inch TV with Direct TV hookup and Netflix available on a smart TV. The other bedroom features a full-sized bed with a trundle tucked away underneath. The Riverview Cabin has entertainment for all including a 55-inch TV with access to Direct TV and Netflix on a smart TV, card games board games, and a few books available. For those that are into hiking a trail leading down to the creek or a long gravel driveway down to the creek is available. Sit by the creek enjoy the sounds of nature and watch the small fish swim around. We have wild turkeys and deer that are around the cabin for your viewing pleasure. Let the kids take a splash into the creek and enjoy the clean mountain water. Come enjoy a relaxing getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Grayson County Virginia. This 2 bed 2 bath house is situated on a country backroad with a small creek running alongside the property. The house is fully furnished, linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to cook. Has dining room with table for 8. Washer and dryer are provided. The living room has plenty of seating for you to relax on and a smart TV to watch your favorite shows. Or take the relaxing out on the carport and fix yourself something to eat on the gas grill. We are 15 minutes from the nearest town incase you need to run to the store, want to grab something to eat out or want some hand dipped ice cream. Check in is at 3pm and checkout is at 10am. No pets allowed.This house is in the perfect location for many tourist attractions. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks to enjoy the New River, closest boat ramp located only 7 minutes away. Plenty of hiking trails within a 30-minute drive to Grayson Highlands State Park where Mt. Roger's, the highest point in Virginia, is located. The park has so much to offer from festivals to wild ponies that roam the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby for a scenic drive through our beautiful mountains. Drive 35 minutes to Galax and enjoy more trails, the Old Time Fiddlers Convention in August, Smoke on the Mountain in July, or just go enjoy the main street shops. Mount Airy, home of the world-famous Andy Griffith, is only about an hour away. In this little town you can enjoy many of their yearly festivals as well as eat at the Snappy Lunch where Andy himself frequented. While there, take time to visit all the places that inspired the classic television show from the 1960s. West Jefferson is located 35 minutes away where you can enjoy plenty of hometown hospitality, delicious food, and tons of quaint little shops lining main street. Drive a little further and visit Boone NC, Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock or Grandfather Mountain near Linville.
