"The site was picturesque despite being on the "off" season. Our rooms were not in the Inn but in the Hillmont building with lakefront views. Our room was very dated with stained carpeting, sloped floors, a French door to the covered patio that wouldn't lock because the door had settled so much that there was a 1" gap at the top left corner of the door. Worst of all, there were bugs in the room every day! I brought this to the attention of the Inn staff on two occasions (two different staff members) and they were seemingly completely uninterested. We caught the "turn down" crew leaving the room doors open for turn down. We mentioned this to the front desk staff and they didn't seem to care. For anyone with physical challenges, this is NOT the place to stay as the walkways are very uneven and extremely slippery (it was rainy during our stay). The pathway lighting that is clearly visible during daylight hours was not illuminated during the evening/nighttime hours making it very dangerous. Our experience in "the restaurant" was varied. One dinner was very pleasant while another was lackluster with two star food. One breakfast had poor service with a server who didn't know the menu at all while the Sunday brunch featured a server who was excellent. Overall, it was a lackluster experience and I would not recommend this inn to others. It could have been a much more positive visit if the staff actually cared about the guest experience. Bugs in the guest rooms and bathrooms are not OK!"
