"Booked here as I didn't want to stay in a commercial hotel. As soon as I pulled up, I knew I had made the right decision. Absolutely beautiful setting, so tranquil. Paula, the host, made us feel welcome, right from the start. Continental breakfast is included and plentiful. If you want a cooked breakfast, it's a little extra. Our room was spotless, bright, and airy. The beds were comfortable and lovely bedding. En suite with a bath and shower over! Tea coffee making facilities plus a fridge, microwave,toaster plus all the crockery needed. We ended up staying 2 nights instead of just the 1. All in all. A fantastic host and a fantastic stay. "

"To call this a hotel is a joke! Had we not pre-paid for the room, we would have left immediately! No curtains, minimalistic furnishings, information file that was incorrect and misleading and the wardrobe consisted of six wire coat hangers on hooks on the wall! Hotel room details of menu costs/prices were less than those charged in the bar! This is disingenuous at best if not verging on the fraudulent. Room guide stated:- Breakfast is served in the main bar between xxxx and xxxx. Nothing of the sort!!! We were to find two cardboard boxes outside our room with allegedly what purported to be breakfast!!! We had ONE CHAIR AND NO TABLE ON WHICH TO EAT T HIS SUPPOSED BREAKFAST!!! We would strongly recommend other tourists NOT TO USE this “facility”. In staying in several small hotels during our tour this summer, this was pleasingly the exception."

"Our family of 14 stayed at Thornbury over the weekend and we had a great time. We stayed across the Lodge, Bungalow and Caravan. All were clean and had everything we needed. We played games on the green outside and enjoyed walks around the lakes. Seeing the animals around the farm was a lovely bonus and the children loved the goats. There is no bar currently but this didn't impact our stay. The owners were great and very friendly. "
