Leonardo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach Reviews

Had a pleasant stay in a room with a beautiful harbor view. The beds and bathroom were excellent. The breakfast was delicious, the service was good, and the restaurant was also excellent. I enjoyed using the sauna for a bit. A minor drawback was that the sauna door couldn't be opened with the key card, so I had to take a detour via the balcony. The thresholds were a bit of a tripping hazard...

The breakfast offered everything you'd expect from a good spread. However, the layout of the breakfast buffet, with a direct view into the kitchen, was unfortunately not very appealing. The staff in the restaurant and at breakfast were very friendly. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the front desk. It sometimes felt as if, as a guest, you were an inconvenience, interrupting the front desk staff's mobile phone conversations.

Parking was available right in front of the hotel, almost directly on the beach. We stayed in a renovated deluxe double room. The room was well-appointed with all amenities, and though not large, the space was optimally designed. We enjoyed the sunset from our balcony.

As our flight was delayed and we missed our ferry, with 2 dogs and 6 pieces of luggage, it wasn’t easy. Friend found this hotel very close to the ferry terminal, so we just give it a try. We booked a basic room, thought just one night, but when receptionist Nora saw we have so many pieces of luggages and 2 little dogs, she upgraded us to a bigger room with sea view . She is super helpful and very nice and warm. The hotel restaurant is fantastic , we had dinner , breakfast and lunch here, the salad we had is so refreshing that we even asked for recipe. We strongly recommend this hotel, it’s facing the sea have beautiful sunset view, very relaxing and safe for dogs running around. And of course the food. All staff are kind and with smile, thank you all so much

Bad experiance no activity attractive

If you are going to Amsterdam, this place is very far from Amsterdam except staying for Ijmuiden and getting to or from the airport can cost you up to £80 one way! The place is not very modern with not very new TV that only air some local stations with visuals. Also the sauna is with limited time slot which can not cater for many of the guests

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean, breakfast was superb.

Good trip

Extremely friendly staff. The hotel is a bit dated and was being renovated during our stay. Unfortunately, this wasn't mentioned when booking. Therefore, much of the hotel's amenities were a bit old-school. But not everything. Breakfast was great, the location right on the beach, walking opportunities, a nice sustainable campsite, and a small supermarket are nearby. The chef's restaurant in the hotel is highly recommended.

The hotel is getting old but renovation work is underway. The location is good, near the sea and opposite the port but the surrounding shops seem abandoned or in a bad state... The staff is pleasant and welcoming.

Great stay

The hotel is in a great location, next to the IJmuiden beach, where you can watch the sunset. But parking is expensive, charging 13 euros a day! City taxes are collected everywhere in the Netherlands, even in rural hotels 🙄🙀

Everything was fine. There was a bit of mold in our bathroom. The building looks tired and a bit old. The same goes for the surroundings, everything seems old. But it was still nice. All the staff and the restaurant were great. There's nothing to complain about.

Great location - rooms are good, bathrooms not very modern but clean, generally good value for money
