We had an amazing stay! The owner of the farmhouse is a renowned photographer of the Great Wall, and the beautiful photo albums at the reception are his own work. He is an incredibly kind and humble man, and his life story is definitely worth reading about. The hosts were wonderful, welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help. The food was absolutely delicious as well. We celebrated my husband’s birthday during our stay, and they even helped us order a birthday cake, which made the occasion extra special. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and we would highly recommend staying here!

I came here for the 2026 Jinshanling Great Wall Ultra Marathon. This hotel is definitely the best and only choice for participants due to its super close proximity to the starting line. Although it's an economy hotel, it truly exceeded my expectations (referring specifically to the new building; I haven't stayed in the old one so I can't comment). The owner is incredibly kind and generous. After the race, my checkout time had passed, but they specially found a room for me to take a shower, which was a huge blessing for someone returning from a mountain run. The food at the guesthouse was also good and very convenient. This will definitely be my top choice for any future visits to Jinshanling Great Wall.

The design is very stylish, and the kids loved it. The hot springs were also very comfortable, and aside from being a bit pricey and the place being a bit small, there were no other issues. The key highlight was the excellent shuttle service; just make a reservation at the front desk, and it arrives quickly!

It really pays to book newer hotels; the facilities are always complete and super clean. The front desk staff were all incredibly warm and attentive. The laundry room is on the first floor, and they even help wash, dry, and fold your clothes – so thoughtful! The only downside is that the air conditioning in the king room blows directly onto the head of the bed. You have to set it to a very low fan speed to make it bearable. I'd suggest adding a deflector or something similar.

I cannot recommend this farmhouse enough! If you are visiting the Jinshanling Great Wall, staying here is an absolute must. The location is perfect, featuring a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can sit and look directly at the Great Wall in total peace. The room itself was modern, and clean, with a great AC, but set right in the middle of a charming, authentic farm. But the absolute highlight of my stay was the host family. The hospitality is unmatched. The Owner Lady of the house cooked some of the most delicious, massive, and authentic meals I’ve had in China, and she went completely out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and well-fed. The food was also unbelievably affordable. The Owner truly went above and beyond for me. When I was struggling to find a reasonably priced car back to Beijing, he spent hours late at night helping me on WeChat, making sure I wasn't overcharged by local drivers. He eventually helped me find a cheap, highly scenic train route back to the city and personally drove me to the local station. They treated a solo foreign traveler like absolute family. If you want a genuine, heartwarming, and frictionless experience at the Great Wall, book this place. 太好吃了 and 谢谢 to the amazing hosts!”

This is one of the better hotels near the Chengde Mountain Resort. It's very close to the resort; you don't need a car, just a 10-minute ride on a shared bike. The soundproofing is also quite good.

It’s a family-owned place, they are extremely nice and helpful, it’s ideal for the Great wall trekking. They came to fetch us at the atation and took care . Don’t miss the broiled trout and the aunerginea for dinner, they are fantastic

Just a 2-minute walk from the Great Wall ticket office. The room was clean, and the homemade fried dough sticks and steamed buns for breakfast were delicious! 😋 The owners and their family were so warm and helpful. When we called from the visitor center, the owner came to pick us up. And when we checked out, since the owners weren't home, the owner's mother even drove us back to the visitor center on her electric tricycle! 🤣 We'll definitely stay here again next time.

Location: Its main advantage is its proximity to the scenic area's entrance. No need for a shuttle bus; it's just a 100-meter walk. You can head out anytime to catch the sunset in the afternoon or the sunrise in the morning. Facilities: Quite old. As it's the only hotel within the scenic area, maintenance is poor. Hygiene: Relatively clean. However, the bathroom has a strong odor, and there's a lot of limescale on the sink, faucet, shower area, and showerhead. The shower area also has a distinct smell. Service: Practically no service to speak of. Rooms are spread across different sections, and there's no bellboy to help with luggage. Only one female staff member helped us with one suitcase; we had to drag the rest ourselves. Overall, it's just average. There are many guesthouses inside the scenic area with equally good locations. If you're looking for better value for money, a guesthouse might be a more advantageous choice.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and fresh air, and both the facilities and cleanliness are impeccable. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were delicious. Overall, the service was satisfactory. However, I have to complain about a front desk staff member who answered the phone between 7 and 10 PM on the 31st. The first time I reported the washing machine wasn't working, she actually told me it was leaking and advised me not to use it. I ended up fixing and using it myself. The second time I called about the shower water not getting hot, her response was even more ridiculous: she told me to just keep running the water until it got hot. I wasted nearly half an hour, and the water never got warm. In the end, a housekeeping staff member came and simply inserted the gas card, which solved the problem. What's worse is her terrible attitude; she was argumentative and refused to admit her incompetence in handling issues, acting as if she knew everything. She definitely deserves a bad review! On another note, the hotel is very close to Jinshanling Great Wall, which is absolutely worth a visit!
