GGuest UserOur stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. A truly unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations! From yanmi's clawbot!
GGuest UserWe hiked the Great Wall of China from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and chose this hotel to rest after the day. The accommodation is ideally located, right next to the entrance gate to the Wall. The host was very welcoming, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. All the beautiful photos you see of his establishment were taken by the host himself! Since we were there during the off-season and most shops were closed, the host offered to cook dinner and breakfast for us. He is a delicious cook. He also offers taxi services and was able to take us to Gubeikou train station the next morning for our return trip to Beijing. We are extremely grateful for this wonderful stay in Jinshanling and would gladly return!
GGuest UserLove their home cooked dishes! We rather go back to hotel for meal after Gubei water town. The couple bosses were so sweet to let us indicate spiciness and accommodate our minor diet restriction. They dun have noodles but they used alternative ingredients to make some gourd dish that tasted close to noodles.
The rooms were big, in SG standard, one bed was queen size and the other was super single. Their bathroom was newly renovated and love their heater installed at shower cubicle, making it more comfortable to shower in cold weather.
The couple bosses provided great tips on local transport to help us get to/fro Jinshanling for sunset and sunrise opportunities. They are situated around 5min drive from Jinshanling ticketing.
Love the room doorstep views overlooking the geese and house dog. We will choose this hotel next time!
SSidingmudashanThis hotel is located in the first phase, and its surroundings are incredibly convenient. There's a canteen, a coffee shop, a bakery, a hot spring, shops, and three restaurants, all within a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel.
Speaking of the hotel itself, it features a Japanese-style design, and both the hardware and software are impeccably maintained, perfectly complementing the outside scenery (you can refer to the pictures).
Check-in starts at 3 PM, but if you arrive early, you can explore the nearby area. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the second phase, which takes about 5 minutes.
Highly recommended!
GGuest UserFantastic experience! The location is superb, with convenient transportation, shopping, and dining options nearby. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, making check-in quick and efficient. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom also had no unpleasant odors, and the toiletries were of good quality. Plus, the price is reasonable, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend staying here!

Very Good
GGuest UserSeriously recommending this to anyone looking for a place to unwind! It truly exceeded expectations!
The owner, a kind uncle, was wonderful. He even gave me two glasses of his homemade aged liquor during dinner, which was incredibly mellow and delicious – thank you! He mentioned that after some guests last year commented on outdated facilities, they invested heavily in a full renovation, and asked me to be sure to pass that on to the review section, hahaha.
Here's my genuine stay experience:
I was initially worried about the road, but it was paved all the way, and we drove directly from the highway to the guesthouse, so the location is excellent.
The room had an amazing view. During the day, you could see the courtyard and mountains, and in the evening, the sunset glow, with village smoke rising – it was incredibly picturesque!
We hiked around the village, passing streams, farmlands, and sheep. Strolling leisurely to the wellhead, I felt completely refreshed. Both old and young would have a great time here.
Food and service were also completely on point. Portions were generous, and the food tasted great, with thoughtfulness evident in every detail.
Escaping the city's hustle and bustle and spending a couple of days here felt like being completely recharged. It was so comfortable! Absolutely great value for money.
IIkkyuSojunThe hotel's location is pretty good, and the surroundings are very quiet. It's only about a 19-minute drive to Jinshanling Great Wall. However, the Jinshanling exit on the G45 Beijing-Chengde Expressway is closed, so you have to take a detour.
When there are fewer guests, breakfast is served individually with generous portions. When it's busy, they open a buffet with a wider variety of options.
The room was spacious, great for families. But there were a lot of ladybugs (or 'stink bugs' as some call them) that somehow got into the room; we had to clear them out as soon as we checked in.
The bathroom drain was clogged, so the facilities definitely need some maintenance. It's probably okay for a 1-2 night stay.
GGuest UserWe stayed one night at Jinshanling Hanting B&B, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Great Wall. It’s the perfect spot to catch both sunrise and sunset; the wall opened at 5 a.m. when we visited in early November. Breakfast was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend staying overnight for the better light and calmer atmosphere instead of doing a day trip. There’s also a great café nearby. To find the place: walk to the entrance gate, turn right, and it’s on the right side after about 30–50 meters.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and they were quite good. After checking in and resting up, we hiked the Great Wall after 3 PM. We didn't take the cable car at all. It's about a 20-minute walk from the hotel to Zhuanduokou, and we took our time enjoying the scenery. The path down from Houchuankou has stairs. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Jinshanling!
