"Honestly, choosing a hotel in Chengdu is tough. I read reviews for every hotel, and they all seemed to have issues. I was a bit apprehensive when I picked the Shangri-La, especially concerning hygiene and facilities, and even braced myself for the worst. Traveling with my child and parents, I couldn't help but worry a little. But when we arrived, I realized my worries were completely unnecessary!
1. **Facilities are old:** This is unavoidable, as the hotel opened in 2007. Back then, it was definitely top-notch, but it's not 'old' in a negative sense.
2. **Well-maintained:** It's clear the hotel puts effort into maintaining its facilities.
3. **Excellent service:** A big thank you to the front desk staff – they were never impatient, no matter when we approached them. Our family room had a leaking bathroom, and since it was late, we didn't switch rooms that night. The next day, they upgraded us directly to a large family suite! My child was thrilled, and they even waived the breakfast fee for one person.
4. **Presidential visit:** The President of Ecuador also stayed there during our visit, haha! What a coincidence. Security was extra strict those few days; we even had to go through security checks every time we entered or exited the lobby.
5. **Dining:** We ordered room service from the hotel, including dishes from Shang Palace, and the food was truly delicious! Also, the hotel breakfast is absolutely worth it. My father is very particular about breakfast, and the next day he told me the mini steamed buns were excellent! The dan dan noodles and beef wide noodles were also great."

"The hotel itself feels very old. Besides the Ibis-exclusive elevator, there are four or five other elevators, but they don't seem to be linked. You have to press the up or down button on each one, which makes waiting for an elevator very inconvenient.
The air conditioning in the room was also very noisy. I stayed for two nights and ended up with several bug bites on my legs – not mosquito bites – and they're still itching five days later.
The staff on the laundry floor were very nice. Seeing me doing laundry, they offered for me to leave a small card with my requests, and they would help dry and deliver it back to my room door.
The lobby staff were just okay. They were incredibly slow at getting things done. I was specifically asked about room preferences, and I only mentioned not wanting a room near the elevator, yet they assigned me one right next to and facing the elevator. I don't understand the point of asking for preferences then. On my second day, even though I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, they still called the room (and no, I hadn't ordered takeout, nor was I a robot). Also, I saw an advertisement at Shuangliu Airport for an SF Express collaboration with the hotel to help send luggage to the airport. When I asked the front desk, they said it used to be available but isn't anymore, and there was no luggage delivery service. I ended up calling myself and successfully arranged for my luggage to be sent to Shuangliu Airport."

"The hotel is quite run down and shabby. It shares a building with other hotels and the downstairs lobby is very worse for wear. The Reception area (which is on floor 15) is, odd, featuring a fake swimming pool as seen in some of the pictures. It's not well laid out and the lifts themselves are in a really bad state, with stained carpets, outdated materials and blaring adverts. The staff are great and very helpful, however the rooms have seen better days. The washing machines are also publicly accessible and then also mandate that you do not wash socks and underwear in them.
Unfortunately despite the great staff the hotel was the worst part of Chengdu for us."

"Really enjoyed our stay in the top floor suite with an amazing view overlooking Taikoo Li and the skyline. The location is perfect for a short visit, with Taikoo Li just outside, making it very easy to walk around. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, responding to our requests and questions instantly, they even helped us fill up the bathtub/pool while we were out so it was ready upon our return! Also loved the projector screen to watch tv. Many amenities like snacks, towels, robes, slippers were also provided. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely return!"

Guest UserI didn't have much of a detailed plan for my short trip to Chengdu this time; I randomly booked this hotel, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. It was raining lightly on the day I arrived, and I got a bit wet dragging my luggage. As soon as I stepped into the hotel lobby, I immediately felt a sense of warmth. The front desk staff noticed me and proactively offered tissues. The check-in process was relaxed and unhurried; they didn't just rush through the procedures and even kindly reminded me to be careful of slippery surfaces due to the rain.
The first impression when I entered the room was how fresh and clean it was, with no stuffy odors. The layout was simple and comfortable. The bedding was neat and soft, and the lighting was gentle and not harsh. After a long journey, coming back to the room allowed me to completely relax. The bathroom was meticulously cleaned, with all the corners well-maintained. The water flow was smooth, and the overall bathroom experience was excellent. The hotel's soundproofing was good; it was very quiet at night, and I had a peaceful and solid night's sleep.
At one point, when I went out, I accidentally left my umbrella near the elevator. I thought it would be difficult to get back, but I decided to contact the front desk just in case. The staff quickly helped me check the surveillance footage and successfully retrieved my item. This small incident particularly warmed my heart.
Overall, my stay was very comfortable. The facilities were excellent, but what was most remarkable was the genuine service. It wasn't just a rigid formality but sincere and thoughtful care from the heart. It's suitable for both leisure travel and business trips. It was a very pleasant stay, and I will choose this hotel again next time I visit Chengdu.

Guest UserThe hotel's scenery is exceptionally beautiful, with a Chinese-inspired design and blessings extended to every guest. The courtyard is adorned with crape myrtle, pomegranates, and magnolia flowers, creating a sense of abundant beauty and prosperity. Flower-lined paths lead to picturesque spots, making every step a delight, and allowing one to forget all worries and simply immerse in the moment. The public hot springs are spacious, available both indoors and outdoors. The rooms are private villas, some with their own hot spring baths, and the温泉 water is natural radon spring water. The front desk managers, Helen and Li Yilin, were very attentive. I would definitely choose Fairmont Chengdu Hot Springs again if I have the chance; it must be even more beautiful in the autumn. This was a wonderful trip.

Piaoluo## Facilities:
1. **Outdated and Poorly Designed**: The facilities are quite old, and the design is impractical. For example, the shower and toilet are in the same area within the bathroom, with no separation. This means if someone is using the toilet, no one can shower, and vice-versa.
2. **Misleading Advertising**: Figures 1 and 2 in the hotel's promotional images, which are crucial for customers before booking, are completely different from what you see upon entering the room (as shown in the last three pictures). I'd like to ask the hotel management: where is the bathtub from your promotional photos? It's turned into a concrete basin, and it's incredibly dirty inside. There was no prior notification upon check-in – it's a complete mismatch from what was advertised.
3. **Hazardous Staircase**: The stairs in the room are extremely steep. You have to be very careful going up, and when going down, you *must* descend backward as per the hotel's instructions, because it's impossible to go down facing forward without falling.
4. **No Internal Elevator**: The hotel doesn't have its own internal elevator, and the staircases within the hotel are also very steep, making it genuinely difficult to carry luggage upstairs.
## Hygiene:
The overall hygiene in the room is acceptable. The wooden floor on the second level is clean, but that dirty carpet really shouldn't be there.
## Environment:
The hotel has been converted from a two-story commercial building. It's not noisy at night and is conveniently located within walking distance of the ancient city's snack street, Nanqiao Bridge, and the subway station.
## Service:
Service is just okay. After checking in, they provide some guide articles about nearby attractions and restaurants, but that's about it.

RexinsuPros: Very comfortable stay. I loved having a sofa to lounge on, a table to eat at while charging my devices, and a conveniently located luggage rack. The rain shower had excellent water pressure. They even provided a Dyson hairdryer and an iron, which was a nice touch. The large floor-to-ceiling windows were beautiful. The air conditioning was perfectly set and didn't need any adjustments – it's great how new everything felt.
Cons: Having to switch elevators to get to the room was a minor inconvenience, but the hotel entrance and the building are separate, unlike some high-rise hotels where you might run into tourists, so I guess it's acceptable. The delivery robot was incredibly slow; it took longer than if the delivery driver had come directly to the hotel. Also, despite being on a high floor, there wasn't much of a view yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing the city develop in the future.

The room was clean and tidy, and it even had a washing machine and a refrigerator. Overall, I'm satisfied and would recommend it. It would be even better if the bathroom had a door. It's not too far from attractions like Wenshu Monastery and Du Fu Thatched Cottage. However, the hotel is quite a distance from the nearest subway station.
