"This property is new and in great shape. It's very convenient to I-40, but with good insulation so there's no road noise in the room. The front desk associates were courteous, welcoming, professional and helpful both at check-in and check-out. The room is a standard room for the brand - comfortable and well laid-out with everything you need for a night or for an extended stay. The room and bath were sparkling clean, and the HVAC was quiet and accurate. The lobby has a large, comfortable, and open area for working, socializing, and breakfast, with an outdoor patio that looked inviting for a warmer season. The breakfast layout was excellent. All in all a restful night on a road trip and a great value. (Bonus next door: the Old Medina Market just steps from the hotel entrance has sandwiches, salads, snacks, chicken, pizza, and the best desserts in Jackson.)"

"I travel for work and stay at Mariott hotels frequently. I can say unequivocally that the agent running the front desk this evening is the rudest employee I have EVER encountered at a Mariott property. She lied to me multiple times about policy and provided horrible customer service. When I asked for the name and number of the GM she told me they weren’t allowed to give that out to guests. I hope this employee gets some intensive customer service training or finds a job better suited to her attitude. *UPDATE…Management didn’t like my complaint and actually kicked me and my sons out of the hotel at 10pm after we had already gotten into bed!!!! I have NEVER even heard of such a thing in my life!!! Clearly the problems here are not just with staff, but also with management!!! I just checked the reviews to see if this is an isolated incident. I see that very few reviews are favorable, can’t say I’m surprised in the least. Apparently in addition to horrific customer service there are issues with hot water and I noticed there are no ice machines and ALL the vending machines are out of order. Newer hotels usually try harder to make a good impression. I can see why there were only 3 guests in the entire hotel. Hopefully they’ll correct these deficiencies promptly, until then there are PLENTY of other more reputable choices in Jackson."
