Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club

Just a note...I stayed here two years ago and got an 'ocean view' room that was nothing but fabulous-I could see a complete view of the ocean. I also looked at the Aulani where they describe certain rooms as 'partial ocean view' so I thought at least they are being honest. I booked an ocean view room and expected the same as last time but when I got to the room I was very upset. I could see the parking structure as well as the side of the building in front of me with the ocean only behind the marina to the right--maybe a sliver of a view of boats and the roadway below. There was so much other 'noise' we did not hear the ocean which is one of the things I love most about this hotel. We called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do for us. All the rooms are listed as ocean view if you can see even a little bit of the ocean. Sadly, we just had to suck it up and enjoy. I still love the location--the lagoon area is my favorite-the bars and restaurants are great and every night the sunset is spectacular.

Overall, very enjoyable experience on a beautiful property that has a great network of pools for all ages, awesome views and essentially its own lagoon. That said, it’s important to understand what this place is and what it’s not prior to booking. Resort is a pretty relative term and this isn’t akin to an extravagant mini-city resort with endless amenities and all-inclusive options. “Beach club” is Marriott’s masking word for “timeshare” to perhaps avoid any negative connotation associated with that term. The reality is that outside of nice pools and a high-quality restaurant.. amenities, architecture and activity offerings are pretty vanilla. Additionally, your Marriott Bonvoy Elite status means much less here than their typical property. No early check-in/late check-out, no exec lounge and little chance for upgrades unless you can score an ocean view suite. Even though this is a nice resort, the price tag is a bit excessive. There are many other more affordable options on the island that are going to give you much of the same (or more) besides a dedicated lagoon. If you have young kids, you’re probably better off staying at Disney’s Aulani up the road for its better entertainment value and more central location adjacent to restaurants and shopping. Cost will be about the same anyway. I couldn’t quite give this place a 5th star for a few reasons. First, the $45 nightly parking fee is robbery. It’s not like you’re parking in Waikiki or New York City. Ko Olina is comfortably spread out so that fee doesn’t seem justified. Second, the towers don’t have enough elevator capacity for the amount of floors and occupants. They are also super slow so don’t think you’re going anywhere in a hurry here. Lastly, attention to detail on cleaning was a little lacking. We found broken glass on our balcony, which is rather unacceptable. At the end of the day, stay here if you’re willing to fork out the money, or don’t and you’ll likely be content elsewhere. You’re going to enjoy Oahu and it’s unmatched beauty regardless!

Avoid Kona Tower 915 if there is any chance of rain. I am a Chairman's Club member, in addition to having Titanium Elite status. Didn't do me much good once the thunderstorms rolled in. There was a large leak next door, with water entering the building via a maintenance doorway next door to 915. The hallway carpet was saturated with water very quickly, which seemed to have been expected by the hotel management, since they were unusually quick to send up lots of water absorbing towels and a large, industrial strength fan , running 24 hrs/day, placed right outside my door, for 3 days. Seems that management should actually consult a structural engineer and come up with a better PREVENTATIVE solution, since rain is a frequent phenomenon on Oahu. It would have also been nice if management would have offered me something (ie points, credits, or an apology) to make up for all the noise we had to listen to from their fans...but unfortunately I got "bonvoyed". You have been warned. Sorry for the rant

Beautiful hotel on Lagoon beach. Wonderful water views, and pools. Plenty of beach and pool chairs. Several pools /spas for both adults and kids. Water slides, Sauna, Steam room. Walking paths to Disney and Four Seasons, after seeing Disney, I think you will appreciate the spaciousness of this resort. Friendly staff. Terrific dining options. BBQ areas. Great gift store , reasonable prices. Appreciated the peace and quiet after coming from Honolulu. Room was spotless.

We were really looking forward to kicking off our vacation with a beautiful sunset relaxing on our patio. We paid extra for an ocean view room and wow, just wow….. As you can see by my photos it’s not an ocean view. It was a view of a parking lot and adjacent hotel. After finding this out we went down to the front desk and explained our disappointment. Despite the fact that we are loyal Marriott members and have gold elite status they said the only thing they could do was issue a $140 credit….. for real? So now we paid $620 for a room that was mediocre at best. It’s extremely dated, as my photos will show The front desk individual also made a point to say this is a Marriott’s timeshare property as well, so they couldn’t accommodate our requests. It was clear that those individuals very much take precedence over regular Marriott members. It’s truly unfortunate that we had this experience at the beginning as the rest of the property is absolutely beautiful and meticulously kept.

Very nice, we had two units that connected for 4 adults and 4 children. We had two king beds and two pull out couches. There was a decent kitchen in the bigger unit and a washer and dryer. Our view was of the mountains. There were 4 elevators and we never had to wait to go up or down. I really appreciated there were carts we could load all our bags on and wheel them to our rooms. We also used it after our Costco run. The pools were fun for the kids and the ocean cove had some turtles that were fun to see. We loved Longis. The resort was so nice that we mostly stayed there. We did a day at pearl harbor and shopped in Honolulu, but mostly just enjoyed the resort.

I wanted to share my recent experience at the Marriott Ko Olina hotel. Unfortunately, it wasn't the most pleasant stay, and I feel compelled to give it a 1-star review. Allow me to explain why. During my time at the hotel, I encountered a rather challenging situation. There was a neighboring guest with noisy children, and despite my efforts to address the issue, the hotel's response was not satisfactory. I lodged a complaint multiple times throughout my stay, spanning three out of the four days. On one occasion, I spoke with a front desk representative (Junka) who assured me that security would handle the matter. However, it seemed that no action was taken, as the noise persisted. The following day, I lodged another complaint, only to be informed by the SAME front desk staff member (Junka) that the noisy neighbors would be checking out that day. Unfortunately, that turned out to be untrue, and the disturbance continued. It wasn't until the third day that I had the pleasure of meeting Erica, a truly exceptional employee. She actively listened to my concerns and went above and beyond to assist me. Erica even took the initiative to discuss the matter with her manager, John, in order to find a suitable resolution. Thanks to their efforts, I was eventually relocated to a different room. I must say, Erica's exceptional service truly stood out. To the lady who worked on 3/31/2024 at 8:00am (Junka), please do better in providing accurate information about the neighbors leaving. It can be frustrating when we receive false information. While I understand that mistakes can happen, it was disheartening to have my vacation disrupted by this ongoing issue. I had hoped for a peaceful and enjoyable stay, free from disturbances. I sincerely hope that the hotel takes my feedback seriously and works towards improving their customer service in the future.
