"Was extremely disappointed in room and view especially for the price. My view from room was the roof on the beach . I tried to change rooms and they would not accommodate. I’ve stayed at 9 other islands from Lizard Island all the way down to Lord Howe and they were all amazing. Kinda felt like I was on a desert 🌵 island."

"We stayed one night in a 2 bedroom cabin. It was compact, well equipped and well furnished. It was clean and well maintained. There was a comfortable sofa and an outdoor dining area on the verandah. Aircons and shower worked well. The double bed sagged a little in the middle. The manager was friendly and helpful. One of the better cabin accommodations we have used in our current roadtrip."

"Lizard Island did not disappoint!! It is a beautiful island with a wonderful resort. The vibe is excellent service yet relaxed and active. We thoroughly enjoyed an all day snorkeling trip to the outer reef, snorkeling right off the many beaches, hiking ever day, a visit to the research center, and just relaxing on the beach and in our villa. The resort accommodated our every need and desire. Bravo!"

"I stayed 4 nights. It is basically a backpackers converted to motel . There was a communal kitchen and shared bathroom. The rooms were small but had all the things needed. T.v and Wifi although wifi didn't work.....but is seemed to be the case throughout Cooktown. The garden was leafy providing lots of shade with cozy seating books throughout. Rules were simple security pretty good. Its a sweet place if you're mood needing luxurious facilities. Wirth the cheaper rate paid"

"All caravan parks are not equal. Cooktown Holiday Park is a standout. Well kept grounds, clean amenities and beautiful large grassy sites. Kris at reception was professional and friendly and was very helpful with things to do and places to eat. No need to visit the info centre with a very detailed pack with maps and info. Dave showed us to our site and was very helpful. The fisho van comes every afternoon with fresh seafood. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 "

"This is a Five Star Retreat from the moment you turn the bend in the drive, it is absolutely stunning. The lush tropical gardens are immaculate and full of wildlife, birds, butterflies and flowers. The place is spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were yummy. Do book an evening meal Sue is a wonderful cook, and it is great fun listening to Tony’s stories (he’s a natural comedian). On a personal note thank you for Rays turmeric coffees and his walking stick."
