"The location was perfect for us splitting our journey the lady in reception was very helpful. The only criticism is the shower only had the'rainfall' option, no handheld device, not so good of you don't want to get hair wet. Every thing else was great."

She was extremely accommodating and whent out of her way to assist and provide a very pleasant stay. I would definitely return next time I'm in the area."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. Gorgeous surroundings. The staff were all lovely but they could do with more. Sometimes we couldn’t find them as they had multiple jobs. The food was lovely, as was the breakfast. Lovely croissants! All rooms had lovely high ceilings and the rooms were lovely. My only criticism was the bathroom - very dated and needs attention. Thanks for the laughs and for making us feel so welcome."

"Very pleasant small hotel with very good food rivalling 4* hotels. Excellent bathroom with a shower that stays where it was put and plenty of hot water. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Helpful and pleasant staff. Take a look at the Lockerbie Pan-Am disaster memorial."

"Booked Hightae inn as a stop on way home from Newcastle .quite and homely B&B but this doesn’t impact on the beauty of Hightae . We had a three course dinner (very reasonably priced) and all courses were lovely, and breakfast was just as good home made bread jams and marmalade smoked salmon and poached eggs was my choice. Morag was a great host and so glad we came across Hightae and will definitely be back."
