"Nice looking hotel from the outside and central location. Interior decor was very tired particularly the stair carpet although lovely towels and clean linen. Most of the staff were lovely; however, there was one notable exception. Quiet hotel but does the town clock really have to ring every 15 minutes through the night?! I wouldn't call it cheap for what you get. Tea and coffee making facilities were good."

"This 18thC coaching inn has so much potential and with significant investment could be a 4* hotel. It is quirky with uneven, creaky floors, probably a ghost or two and is very central for the town and many tourist sites in Wales. Unfortunately the (large) space on the ground floor is very badly managed. There should be a snug area with waiter service for drinks, Newspapers would be good. A cafe area for morning coffee would attract custom. The bar is fine but not particularly somewhere to stand and chat. Dining room needs a refurb and is too dimly lit. Having said that, the staff were very nice and very helpful, the food was excellent and the dinner B&B rate was very good. A nice wine list. The room was quirky with lots of old furniture but very dimly lit. The bathroom needed a refit. Comfortable, nevertheless. If I had the money I would buy this place and by next year would have a hotel that attracted anyone who wanted to explore mid and North wales as well as local trade in the bar and restaurant - and I would make a profit."
