"The standard rooms, chalets and cabins are not worth the money they charge for them. Most are far away from where one's vehicle must park. The perimeter walls to the property look "dodge" and unsafe. We were not prepared to stay in the chalets, rooms or cabins and had to resort to taking one of the bigger river view chalets for our peace of mind and safety, this was at an additional cost of close to R500 for the night. In general, the place is dated and is in serious need of maintenance. IN general, the prices are over the top and are exploiting the traveller by charging a hefty price because it has a view of the Kruger Park. "

"Rooms are definitely smaller and shabbier than what is shown on the website. Everything would need a good refurbishment (bedside lamps assembled with different pieces that don’t fit together, etc). Food at the buffet dinner very disappointing: grilled chicken wasn’t grilled, but kind of boiled and soaked in a BBQ-like sauce, vegetable rice inedible, sautéed vegetables tasted rancid. The only good point of the place is the terrace overlooking the river, and the staff that is indeed very nice and courteous."

"I had an absolutely amazing time at Rio Vista Lodge. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with great decor and nice to sleep on foam matrasses, with variety of firmness for body types spine support, and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious. with huge variety of options! The staff was attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we are comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, apart from the HOT SUN/humidity of Mpumalanga. Other than that i can't fault the place and will definitely come back. How can i not mention the view from the Deck phasing Kruger National Park view, with a nice blooming huge blue swimming pool and mouth-watering Windhoek drought, served extremely cold to chill and quench your thirst."

"This was our 2nd stay at River House Lodge and again it did not disappoint. There have been some upgrades since our last trip which only enhanced our stay further. On this trip my sister and I decided to just stay at the Lodge and not do a safari as we just wanted to relax and see what animals we could spot from the veranda, we were not disappointed! We saw hippos, elephants, impala, crocodiles, warthogs, water buck and many bird species. An absolutely wonderful 4 days. Our room was clean and very comfortable with all that we needed and was beautifully made up and cleaned daily. The food served at breakfast and dinner was very tasty and plentiful, we had some traditional dishes that we possibly would not have chosen, the food was served hot and nicely presented and breakfast is now served on the terrace which was a lovely addition, especially being joined by a very playful solitary elephant each morning! But what really sets River House Lodge apart is the wonderful staff. Hard working, polite, kind and friendly who always greet you with a smile and ask about your day or if you need anything. I’ve read some negative reviews on here and for me it seems like they are describing somewhere else! This place is not a shiny, faceless corporate hotel, it’s homely, friendly and has a wonderful ambience providing a wonderfully authentic African experience! I can’t wait to go back soon."

"Selati103 is conveniently close to the Malane gate and easy access to the park. The cottages are lovely with all amenities you need. I only spent two nights. But check in was easy. And we ordered food which was lovley. I can recommend a stop over or longer stay"
