"We have been on different Safaris over the years and first went to Flatdogs in 2012 and loved it. After travelling with my sister and husband in Tanzania Feb 24 and being disappointed with the culture of radios and chasing animals in the parks I talked them into south Luangwa and Flatdogs. What a trip it was! We stayed in the Crocs nest in our tented home with incredible meals, incredible staff and our wonderful driver Yotam. We dined by candle light listening to the hippos at night. It was hot but we had our private pool with wildlife passing by daily. Adrian, Jess and Paulo are the greatest hosts as is every staff member who greets you with a welcome smile. What stood out was the attitude and respect Flatdogs showed to the park. The elusive leopard that we have seen once on all our safaris was there daily relaxed and unafraid of the vehicles. All the animals showed a serenity when we got near them. No off road here and no loud radios calling every one to the location. Yotam knew the park back to front. He knew the habits of the animals, their favorite places to eat and drink, favorite tree to climb. You won’t always see animals on a Safari, different seasons etc and thick bushes but if you choose a good company your chances will increase and a good guide will show you other things of interest in the park. We gave our trip 10 out of 10 and spent money in the local community and at Project Luwanga. This is what a great Safari company does. It helps the whole community and has an interest in preserving this beautiful park. So when you plan your safari ( which Flatdogs will make easy for you) remember that you want an ethical company who has the local people at heart and wants to preserve this incredible area and also can offer you great prices in a variety of accomodation that suits a lot of budgets. This wasn’t a cheap holiday for us because of distance but certainly a highlight in our lives! Thank you to every one at Flatdogs."

"My stay at Mopani Safari Lodge was an unforgettable experience that beautifully blended with the raw beauty of the African wilderness. The safari drives were the highlight—expertly guided, well-timed, and incredibly rewarding. We spotted elephants, lions, giraffes, and an array of birdlife, with guides who were knowledgeable, passionate, and respectful of the environment. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Each meal felt personalized, with local ingredients and warm, attentive service. Whether it was a bush breakfast or dinner under the stars, every bite came with atmosphere and care. The staff were outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. They struck a perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making us feel both at home and immersed in the wild."

Track and Trail River Camp ★★★

"We camped at Track and Trail and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The campsite itself is fantastic, with spacious sites and excellent facilities. The ablutions are modern, spotless, and clearly very well maintained. One of the biggest highlights was the wildlife around camp. We had elephants casually wandering through the campsite - why go into the national park?! 😊 The restaurant is definitely worth visiting if you don’t feel like cooking. Food is delicious and lots of options. Sundowners at the bar overlooking the river was a great way to end the day. The staff deserve a special mention. they were genuinely warm, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. And then there’s the bush gym… without a doubt one of the coolest gyms we’ve ever trained in! It’s fully equipped, beautifully set up under thatched roofs, and open to everyone staying at the lodge or campsite. Working out while watching elephants wander past is something we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a campsite that combines excellent facilities, amazing wildlife, delicious food, and outstanding hospitality, Track and Trail is hard to beat- we will be back!"

Shawa Luangwa Camp ★★★

"This camp seems to have all the fine details that Jacob Shawa picked up and learned from his previous jobs! A most amazing facility where everything worked like perfect clockwork---such a friendly and welcoming staff so full of joy and enthusiasm. The tents/treehouse motif was superb, and the family unit just perfect for us! We were 6 and everything flowed so seamlessly from beginning to end! How we hated to leave! And the GREEN in Green Sarfaris is so very appropriate, from the electric safari vehicles to the power in camp! Hoping someday we may return!!"

Camp Sabali ★★★★

"I just came back from a solo trip to South Luangwa, and staying at Camp Sabali was the best decision I made. From the moment I arrived, I felt calm and looked after. The camp is peaceful and beautifully tucked away, perfect for resting and recharging. Leon is a wonderful host! warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was fresh, tasty, and always made with care. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor showers were honestly one of my favourite things. There’s nothing like showering under the open sky after a day in the bush. The game drives were equally unforgettable. Isaac, our guide, was brilliant! he is so knowledgeable, calm, and clearly passionate about the wildlife. One of the best game drives I have been on in a while. Camp Sabali is a special place. If you’re thinking about going, don’t hesitate. I loved my stay and already want to go back."
