"Such an old hotel, it's my first time staying at a Four Points with such poor facilities. It's right next to a large shopping mall, so dining is very convenient. The sea view room also offers a nice view."

"I stayed here for a night. If you’re looking for a hotel with “unique” experiences, this one’s for you! The check-in was smooth, and the bed was decorated with abstract stains – perhaps part of the charm? Luckily, no soap to wash away the memory in the room. When asked, the staff, oh so polite, reassured me that the soap “could be conditioned” – whatever that means! And, the cherry on top: a delightful three-minute delay for a room check, just to make sure I didn’t snag a complimentary pen. I left feeling like a lottery winner who hit the jackpot of mediocrity. Truly a stay to remember! 🎉"

"Photos on social media and online travel platforms do not represent the actual condition of this hotel. I booked this hotel for a sudden business trip after seeing its good ratings, nice photos, and active social media presence. Initially, I planned to stay for one night, but ended up checking out the same evening due to an unpleasant experience. Here are the details: I checked in around 7 PM and was given a room on the 8th floor. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I felt something was off — the corridor air-conditioning was off, the air was stuffy and had an unpleasant smell. When I entered the room, I immediately felt uncomfortable. The room was spacious but looked old and poorly maintained. Furniture was scratched and damaged, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or used in a while. The shampoo and body wash had expired since 2023, and the towels had a musty odor. Feeling uneasy and unable to relax, I went down to the reception carrying my belongings to request a room change. The second room was also on the 8th floor, but in a different wing. The staff said the lower floors were closed or fully occupied — which I found strange. This second room also had the same unpleasant atmosphere. When I turned on the air conditioner, a bad smell came out. Even stranger, the telephone cable was unplugged from the phone. I reconnected it and tried calling the reception, but there was no dial tone. A few minutes later, a male staff member (housekeeping or maintenance) suddenly knocked on my door, asking if I had just called for help. I told him I didn’t. I also noticed that the door latch lock was incomplete, as if it had been removed. I asked for another room and was again placed on the 8th floor, this time at the far end of the hallway, even farther from the elevator. The room felt the same — uncomfortable and unsettling. I turned on the TV to make some noise, but then I started hearing knocking sounds behind the TV, which moved toward the balcony. When I approached to check, the sound disappeared, only to return shortly after. At that point, I decided to pack my things and check out immediately around 8 PM. This hotel felt horrifying, and later I learned it’s considered an urban legend in Manado. My taxi driver told me during the ride to my new hotel that the building was formerly a Dutch-era hospital. After doing some online research, I discovered many similar eerie stories and reports from previous guests."

"Good location, fine rooms. Love the breakfast - a lot of options, awesome quality of foods, but there is no coffeemachine there. Rooftop pool with great view was dirty. Recommend it if you need city base for your nearby adventures or just transit."

Grand Luley Manado ★★★★
"After seeing some Videos about Grand Luley in the internet we really wanted to enjoy that "enchanted" atmosphere of that wonderful garden leading to that jetty towards the mangroves. And we were not dissapointed. After a short 30 Minutes transfer from Manado city we arrived a little early but immediately could check in in our room. And...what a room. We booked a deluxe premiere room and it was unbelievable spacious with a good bed, good aircon, sitting area and a terrace with a small lawn over the main garden. Just around the corner of the swimming pool and close to the jetty and..in front of our room was a complimentary water dispenser (!). Regarding the Pool...it was large and surounded by coconut-palms. Umfortunately i did not really trust the coconuts directly over the ways and sun loungers. So especially when it is windy...look up and be careful. The restaurant had a good range of food but the prices were on the higher side. Approx 25 - 40 % over average Mantos-Restaurant Prices and it tasted very good - expect the Black Pepper Beef. I don´t know, if the had a bad day with the beef, but it was tough and gristly. The Breakfast selection was o.k., even some good Croissants and on one day dadar gulung (green Pandan-flavoured Crepes with coconut/sugar-filling) , but the coffee...well... more tea like water with coffee taste and after we asked they brought us real coffee/cappuccino. The hotel also offers comlimentary transfers to and from Mantos (Manado Town Square - the biggest Shopping Mall in Manado). GOOD! Especially because in the surrounding of the hotel is just a small village with a few basic local food options and two small supermarkets in approx 8 Minutes walking distance. And a Souvenit-tip: The hotel offers black T-shirts with four different motives: A tarsier, a dolphin, a turtle and a Minahasa-Warrior - all with "Grand Luley" on one Arm. One small motif tag on the front and a big one on the back. Really good fabric-qualitiy and now - back in Germany - i regrett that i only bought one. After all a very nice hotel with great atmosphere - especially in the evening with all the enchanted lights on."
