"Rustic wood is a very cozy and pleasant resort to spend your holidays. Its located in Simsa village just outside manali, 2.5 Kms from Mall Road. The location is serene with valleys and snow cladded mountains all around . We stayed in premium rooms with private balcony , the view was beautiful and mesmerizing. The room was big, pretty big Bed and warm Blankets. Toilet was clean and dry with all proper toiletries. We had breakfast and Dinner included in the price. The breakfast spread was good with delicious taste. However the dinner wasn’t that good in taste. Only Con : they will charge you for room heater @Rs. 500 per night during cold winter nights, which to me should be included within the room charge and should come complimentary."

The Pine Chalet
"Very very disappointed. Had come through a personal recommendation and hence the reason i was even more let down. Room - was super disappointed with the bathroom. The commode was so dirty that it had crap / urine marks from the previous user as the person cleaning the commode had not lifted the seat and cleaned it. The loo also had marks all over. The shower bottom floor was dirty. There was no drinking water & toilet paper. The guy cleaning the bathroom was the same person preparing the food. I went and saw other rooms and their bathroom state was even worse. The geyser hot water is not enough for one person to have bath with, forget two. When you have to leave early, the door is locked and you have to go to the Managers room to wake him up to open the room. Absolutely not a good staying experience. 2. Their transport person Arun ( recommended by the manager) made a full fool of us. Before coming to Manali, he had agreed on a car cost at 11.5 K for Innova. When we called him to confirm the time at 7 pm, he said this was for Maruti desire and not Innova. Innova was confirmed by him before. Considering we had to travel in the next few hours, we agreed for 16 K ( change from Chandigarh else 20 K) as we had no option. So sad to see how Manali loots tourists. I confirmed later that the correct price is Rs 12 k for Innova - Manali to Delhi - 6k Manali to Chandigarh and 6 k from Chandigarh to Delhi. Overall very bad experience - when you realise that you are being cheated but you have no option because you are stuck !!!"
