"The room was really lovely, we had a prestige family suite with balcony and great views. Fast check-in and check-out so perfect for ferry travel- 5 mins from port. Comfy beds, lovely sheets and a wonderful shower. The stay was let down by the restaurant and staff for us. We opted to dine in the evening before our ferry as we wanted a quick and simple option. The waitress came across rude and we were advised we had to order all courses at the start of the meal. This was frustrating as we didn’t know if we would want a desert at the end! Several meals were wrong- we ordered 4 steaks and all were cooked and labelled with a different level of ‘done’ than we had selected. One dish completely different to what had been requested and confirmed. One steak inedible as very fatty with lumps of gristle. We are English but ordered using the French title as the menu, and pointed to confirm which dish was desired. Orders were not as described- muscles came with no cream, raspberry missing from the mojito etc, just frustrating to not get what you order. During a 3.5hr dining experience we were not asked once if we wanted any drinks. We asked ourselves on several occasions. We spent over £300 and it wasn’t the good experience we would expect (and usually get) in Mercure hotels. There was no milk in our rooms for coffee so we asked at Reception and the host simply shrugged and said she didn’t have any. We asked at the bar and we’re told there was no milk. I asked a different waitress after dinner and she offered a jug to take up to the room."

"Ibis now seem to have a 3 tier system of hotel standards, this being the middle one. Having spent the previous night in the upper type room, this was definitely not as good – but it was around 15% cheaper so not unexpected. We asked for a quiet room and got it. Enough room for luggage and occupants, a kettle and paper cups provided with tea bags and coffee sachets. Everything clean though and a comfy bed with decent bedding ensured a good nights sleep. A decent overnight stop that’s not too hard on the pocket."

Auberge Saint Pierre

"This time, we chose to stay at the Auberge Saint Pierre. It's easy to find. Enter Mont Saint-Michel, follow the main road through the city gate, and walk three or four blocks. The window overlooks the extensive mountain roads. The room was spacious and bright, but the bathroom had separate hot water pipes for washing hands and showering. The hot water in the shower was ice-cold after running for more than 10 minutes, while the hot water for washing hands came out in seconds, leaving us with no choice but to wash our hair with hot water in the sink. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel was always full upon arrival, but the fish and lamb chops we ordered weren't as tasty as the waiter recommended, and we had a stomach ache afterwards. It's not recommended for dining there."

"It was a pleasant stay. The receptionists were very polite and helpful and rooms were nice and clean. The location is perfect, there is free shuttle bus stop right in front of the hotel or you can walk to Mont Saint Michelle which takes about 30-40 minutes."

"It was an incredible experience to stay in such a cute fairy-tale-like house for about 40,000 yen per room for my family! It makes me feel like I've bought a house in France. The garden is beautiful, and there are plenty of amenities (soap, coffee, tea, hair dryer, towels, etc.). The staff was also kind, and it was a very comfortable stay. The only disappointment was that the signal was too weak and I couldn't connect to Wi-Fi. However, the staff made their best effort to connect to the free signal, and since I have an eSIM, it wasn't a big problem. The problem was my father. In the first place, I wonder why he had to bring work with him on a trip, and he was frustrated that he couldn't use his PC and work, even though there are plenty of ways to do it, such as tethering. So, if you are staying, please come after finishing your work. If you do that, you will have a really wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to have the elegant experience of having breakfast on a nice terrace. But it was a wonderful inn that I would like to come back again just for that experience! Given the location of the town, it's not an easy place to travel to, but I think Japanese people especially love this place. It has an atmosphere and scenery that you definitely won't find in Japan... I can understand why people from overseas want to stay in a traditional Japanese house. I'm half wanting everyone to know about it, and half wanting to keep it a secret forever. There are plenty of beds, and the toilet and shower room are separate!"

"This was a nice overnight stay during a bus tour group through Normandy. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The morning breakfast was nice, and the AC in the room worked well for us. The only caveat, was the internet was down that evening. The hotel had a restaurant and lounge and there were a handful of restaurants to walk to right around the corner of the hotel."
