"A friend and I spent a week at a two bed apartment overlooking the pool, with an RCI exchange. The apartment itself had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The sofa and chairs would have benefited from an update, however the beds and mattresses seemed newer and were very comfortable. Also the bathrooms appeared to have been updated more recently. Lots of hot water and great water pressure in the shower As some others have commented, soundproofing to the next door apartment was poor (not great when you can hear your neighbour using the bathroom). The apartment was exceptionally clean, as was the whole resort. At 8am every morning, a cleaning team spotlessly cleaned the area around the pool and worked hard to keep it spotless. The staff in the restaurant and reception were friendly and helpful. There is a walk back up the hill to the resort, which would be a challenge for some but we are relatively fit and enjoyed it. The beach about 15 mins walk and there is a regular bus service. The bus service is good, very cheap but slow as they make so many stops. We visited Marbella and Mijas, which involved two buses and 1.5 hours to visit the village which is about 15 miles away! But it was beautiful and worth the journey - we weren’t in a rush. We didn’t hire a car and managed to go what we wanted and have a break too. All in all, it’s not glamorous or showy, but if you want a break in the sun at a clean resort, it’s a great choice."

"Sorry it’s not a happy post! I Had booked a chalet on booking dot com for La Perla de Torrenueva starting this weekend. Received confirmation and my credit card was charged. 2 days after booking and with no consultation I was informed they (the property) had moved my booking dates to July!!! (Not even in Spain on those dates) I called the property manager (Frank?) who basically said somebody now wanted to extend their holiday so I’d have to find another booking. He didn’t offer to help or apologize he just said there are plenty of places to book on the costa del sol. Booking dot com have found me a new booking. But now I have to wait 2 weeks to receive my refund. I understand overbookings sometimes occur but the level of customer service was very poor and badly handled. I hope others have not had similar experiences at this accommodation."
