"Pros: - Located in the main onset street. - Free car park, less than 1min walk from hotel. - One of the greatest dinner in Japanese Ryokan. - Indoor public bath in hotel basement. - Staffs are not good in English, but very polite and will try the best to help you. Cons: - The public bath itself is not that great, a better one is 1 min walk from hotel. Staffs will bring you there. Not good only since the day I visited is heavily raining."

"The traditional Japanese atmosphere was so relaxing and comforting. The onsen was also incredibly soothing. We went during cherry blossom season, so the sakura trees right in front of the hotel were in full bloom—they were absolutely stunning :)"

"Ishanlou Iwasaki Hotel was the most comfortable stay we had during this trip. Because we were going to Conan Town, we chose the hot spring hotel here, thinking we could relax a bit. The transportation was a bit inconvenient. We took a taxi to the hotel, which was relatively expensive. The hotel is an old-fashioned Japanese-style room, the room is large, but the service is still very good, especially there is a dedicated aunt to help you, she is the one who prepares meals and baths (because the place is relatively remote, we booked (Meals are included) Maybe it’s summer and there aren’t many people bathing in hot springs. Hehe, it avoids embarrassment😅 However, there is a wild spring opposite the hotel, where local old men soak naked. As long as you are not embarrassed, others will be embarrassed😀 😀"

"The hotel has many tour groups (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan). The hotel is relatively old, the facilities are OK, but the carpets in the corridors are very dirty. The hot springs are also very nice, with both indoor and outdoor baths for men and women. Breakfast and dinner are also buffet style, with few choices but the taste is good."

"I stayed for one night from January 31st. The inn is a very historic building, and it has about five different indoor baths, including a slightly larger public bath, which I was very happy with. The meals were served in a private room, and there were many appetizers and fish dishes, which were excellent. Due to the heavy snow, there wasn't much to see around the inn, so I spent my time in a very quiet atmosphere. I would like to visit again during the warmer season."

"The waitress was terrible. I was expecting a relaxing stay because they seemed to have a good reputation for customer service, but it was a disappointment. When I asked my children if they wanted more rice at dinner, the waitress said, "Wait a minute! We're handing out the tempura now! Mom, don't be so hasty!" I felt like I was being mocked. Also, when my husband ordered a chuhai and I ordered a beer, she said, "So your wife drinks beer, I thought it was the other way around," and when my child tried to dip the tempura in the ponzu sauce for the yakiniku, she said, "That's meant to be eaten with salt!" There were many comments that were upsetting. At breakfast, I asked another employee to change the waitress, so the morning waitress was nice. However, even though they must have known that I was upset when I asked to be changed, there was no apology from that point until check-out."

"The hotel has a historic feel, and the rooms were generally clean and tidy, although the bathroom felt a bit old and dirty. Dinner and breakfast times are selected at check-in. We wanted to go to the pool before dinner, but it closed at 5:30 pm, which disappointed the children. We didn't mind not using the onsen (hot spring), but there was an extra 100 yen "onsen tax" per person at check-out? The restaurant staff were very friendly; knowing we didn't speak Japanese, they found a Chinese-speaking staff member to help us. The food was plentiful, refills were quick, and each person had a small stove to cook rice, seafood, and hot pot – it was quite fun. The buffet breakfast was decent. Aside from the room rate being more than double the usual price, the overall experience was quite good."

"The hotel service and hot spring are also very good, the price is cheap, the food quality is acceptable, it is recommended that the hotel should not put all the food on the table at once, it would be much better"

Kiya Ryokan ★★★
"I chose this place for a reunion with my sister after 20 years. The two private baths lack shower facilities, and the water trickles into the tub through a blue hose. Is this really a free-flowing bath? My sister, a bit of a germaphobe who never uses the public baths, never entered the baths. It was a hot day, and she probably wanted to wash off her sweat, but she kept filling the washbasin with water. I urged her to wipe herself down, but she refused. I used the public bath, but the water pooled in the uneven rocks at my feet without draining, making it feel unsanitary. The baths are supposed to be open 24 hours a day, but the lights were turned off in the early morning, and I couldn't find the power source. I waited until my eyes adjusted to the darkness before entering, which was quite dangerous. I was looking forward to the kaiseki cuisine photos in the IT section, but the reality was completely different. The sashimi was not very fresh, and the blue fish was bloody and stained, so I refrained from eating it. My sister picked up her chopsticks first, but couldn't move on as it didn't suit her palate, and I lost my appetite when I saw the food being presented. I couldn't eat anything at dinner, and I called to ask for white rice and pickles, but the white rice was soggy like porridge and inedible. My sister declined breakfast as we were unable to take a bath while visiting the hot springs, but we were hungry and had time before our train the next day, and there were no restaurants nearby. The breakfast was generally salty and far from tasty, and I felt truly sorry for my sister who had invited me. The room didn't lock, the keyhole just turned round and round, and even though they explained how to lock it at check-out, it was too late. When I told them that the meal contents were different to the photo on the website, they said, "Oh, that's just an image," and it must have been a scam! All in all, it cost over 50,000 yen for two adults, and it was an incredibly painful stay."
