The Olive Branch
"Great location, great atmosphere. Our room was lovely sea views and lots of people watching. Value was good with a huge breakfast available which was really good. Everything was clean and tidy. As for our hostess she was great and directed us to 2 of the best restaurants which we would go back to if in Ilfracombe again. Would we go back to the Olive Branch yes without a doubt, highly recommend it for a great weekend."
Croyde Bay Hotel or Self Catering
"Brilliant location near beach. Aimed mainly at families, evening entertainment typical holiday camp for young children or oaps. Very good service and well maintained facilities. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms and fun games onsite like crazy golf. I had party of 3 adults staying in the hotel side. Best value in the area for a room with 3 or 4 adults. Highly recommend for a trip to North Devon"

The Collingdale Guest House
"Great hosts Sharon & Daryl were there to welcome us after a long drive Room was on top floor but a great room with plenty of space and everything was clean and thoughtful additions Great breakfast 😋 and both Sharon & Sue were really friendly and efficient The lounge area and the little bar area were delightful and furnished with beautiful furniture with fabulous views over the sea Shirt walk down to the Harbour and plenty of info provided on where to eat and days out Hope to visit again It was my 60th birthday whilst staying and a surprise card and chocs were left in my room 😊"
Kentisbury Grange
"I’ve been fortunate enough to be well travelled and stayed in hundreds of hotels but this one is one of the best. The little details make this place so special. The accommodation was of exceptional quality with a massive bathroom, the room was spacious but so cosy I was asleep by 9.30! The food was delicious, the quality was outstanding and so lovely to see the chef taking real pride in what he does. The service was amazing, the waitresses and management were so accommodating and went above and beyond for us. This is the best value for a hotel, we hope to be back v soon!!"
Yeo Dale Hotel
"Super comfy beds and pillows. I slept so well. Such a nice breakfast which was included. Breakfast finished at 8.30am on a week day so worth getting up earlier if you require a leisurely breakfast as everything is promptly removed at 8.30am. The loft space room was clearly advised to me as being in the loft, tight for space and approx 50 stairs, it was a struggle for the unfit(me,) and the double bed great for just me but two people getting in and out would have been a struggle. The en suite was lovely, a small shower tight against the toilet, not for a larger person. Bed so, so comfortable, I slept so well. The tea tray was very nice, lovely tea, beautiful mugs and yummy biscuits."
Blue Ball Inn
"Stayed two nights here on a travelzoo deal. Is good value for money. The rooms are smaller than average but well equipped, very clean with a more modern en suite shower room , the actual bed room being a bit dated but more than comfortable. We ate dinner here on the first night which was excellent. Had four different cooked breakfasts between us and all were delicious. If the weather is good [which it was for us], a wonderful place to sit outside surrounded by birdsong , nature and views of beautiful countryside. What really makes this is the staff ….could not fault them, They are constantly busy and no doubt working short handed but always wanted to help with a smile and a [rare these days] can do attitude. Thanks so much to you all. Superb."
Avoncourt Lodge
"Fantastic good old fashioned bed and breakfast. Lovely hosts and smashing breakfast. Can’t recommend this place enough."
Lorna Doone House
"We stayed at Lorna Doone w/c 8th April 2024 in Room 9 (second floor). We previously stayed there 10+ years ago, and we thought it was time to go back and visit Lynmouth. We like to go and visit/explore different places (usually new ones for us) hence why it took us so long to go back there. When we booked our room we found out that the previous owners had left 6 years (!) previously and that Russell and Nicky had taken over the B&B. We thought it doesn’t matter, the ‘new’ owners have been here 6 years so they must be doing something right! Russell welcomed us in and after chatting about breakfast and facilities, he showed us to our room. It was lovely, a big king size bed (two singles put together) and really comfortable. The room was bright and welcoming. The en-suite shower room had a window, which is rare in B&B/Hotel accommodation and something that I like as it allows some air flow between the bedroom and the bathroom. Moving on to breakfast. The evening/morning before you are handed over a sheet where you choose your breakfast. This is a good way of preventing waste. You tick all the items you would like to have at breakfast the following morning, instead of being presented with a full plate of English breakfast (if that’s what you like) and only eating half of it with the leftover going in the bin. It seems that Russell was in charge of cooking the breakfast and Nicky was being ‘mother’ (I think that’s how the expression goes). Perfectly cooked poached eggs, sausages, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, etc… Delicious apple juice (I would have liked more but didn’t want to seem too greedy!). My other half got chatting to other friendly guests, he’s the chatterbox in our couple, takes after his mother! If that’s your thing, there is a path going up to Watersmeet (coffee stop on the way up and cream tea stop on the way back! Although there are places you can have cream tea at Lynmouth too) and beyond. We were hoping to have a beer at the Rockford Inn but the electricity cables were being changed on the street and so the pub was closed. Pity. On our last evening we went to the Old Merchant, and unbeknown to us, the local shanty singers group was there and started to sing, there was a bucket going around as they were raising money to build a boathouse on the sea front. Despite some of the songs having the lyrics ‘down with the French’ (I didn’t take it personally!), it was a really enjoyable evening and we stayed longer than we would have otherwise and contributed to the bucket takings! Our big surprise was that our host (Russell) was one of the singers and what a strong voice he had! Very impressed! So all in all, we had a lovely stay. Lorna Doone is a really convenient place to be and we have already recommended it to friends. Nicky and Russell will recommend places to eat, most are within walking distance so very handy if you don’t want to drink and drive. I don’t know when we will be back, as, as I’ve mentioned above, we "
The Sawmills
"We stayed here to visit nearby beaches. There is a path right behind the property that is perfect for a morning walk, and we really enjoyed the wonderful views. The staff were friendly and helpful. Note that the shampoo and shower gel come in the same bottle, and there is no conditioner, so I recommend bringing your own if that matters to you."
