"The worst experience related to safety and security of 2 female passengers — and above all, the hotel staff doesn’t care at all. We are two female travellers who stayed at this hotel and paid a premium — over INR 57,000 for the 2 night stay including INR 8,000 for a private transfer to Udaipur arranged by the hotel. What happened during that transfer was completely unacceptable. The driver drove rashly on narrow roads and through the ghats, was on his phone while driving, and ignored our repeated requests to slow down. About 20 minutes into the journey, he stopped and picked up an unknown male (seemingly his personal acquaintance) without asking or informing us. This stranger sat in the front seat for the entire drive to Udaipur. As two women, we felt genuinely unsafe and could not raise it inside the vehicle. During the drive, they stopped the car multiple times for their own personal errands. The unauthorised passenger was chewing tobacco, spitting outside each time he got off, playing loud music, and talking non-stop with the driver in a language we could not understand. It felt like our paid, premium transfer had been hijacked for their personal use, with a stranger forced on us throughout. We raised all of this in writing with the hotel. They responded once, said they would investigate and re-train staff, but did not address compensation at all. When we followed up specifically asking about compensation, we received no response. Complete silence. For a hotel at this price point, and for something this serious involving the safety of two female guests, this response is unacceptable. The lack of care from the staff has been as disappointing as the incident itself."

"Another spectacular hotel on the RAAS hopper route. More of a retreat, a very luxurious retreat, than a hotel. Canopied rooms on edge of lake. Completely silent except for birds. Bougainvillea abounds. Peacocks, roosters, basking turtles, the odd antelope all within the grounds. Fantastic stargazing sessions with the super knowledgeable Rakish. Ask Mohammed, super knowledgeable ornithologist and naturalist to take you out in the jeep or on the lake or into the village completely devoid of tourists. Try the Chhat with cornflakes and yoghurt as a side dish. Amazing Kundalini massage from a wonderful strong yet tiny masseuse (and I’ve been to a ton of hotel spas). Great place atop a hill for surveying sunset, delicious Indian amuses-gueles and cocktails, Service impeccable. Yoga and meditation offered. And yes, they have oat milk. Truly gutted we have to leave"

"Planned this trip with friends and turned out to be the best experience. The stay at Clarks Jawai and the safari booked by them were totally exhilarating. We booked 2 days stay at cottage rooms which were big, spacious and clean inclusive of 3 times meal which was super delicious and fresh (By Chef Govind) with pool access. The staff members were polite and delivered good service. Special thanks to Manager Arpit Tiwari for making our experience best."

"Very unique hotel in Ghanerao. We were treated like royal residence of this castle. Although the furnishings are a little rough around the edges, the overall experience was excellent. Waking up in the morning after an afternoon at the pool and delicious meal for dinner was quite surreal. The rooms are a real step back in time."
